On February 29, Disneyland is staying open for 24 hours! [Sidenote: I really want this guy's job.] It’s like Grad Night for everyone! Remember Grad Nights? I went to my Grad Night when I graduated high school. I wore the weirdest summer jumpsuit to the park, and I remember just wandering the park like a sleep-deprived yet smiling zombie. No, you will not be seeing this picture.

Cut to a few years later, when I work at Disneyland as a ride operator to pay for college. I end up working a bunch of Grad Nights as a sleep-deprived undergrad. My worst Grad Night memory didn’t even happen in the Park. One post-Grad Night morning, my shift was over at 6:00AM, and I had been up for at least 36 hours prior. I had a final to take later that morning. I was driving BACK to (home) LA on the 5 North freeway… in commuter traffic. I just about cried on the freeway – I was so tired, and I was fighting to get home while other people were driving to get to work.

Disney has also attached a sweepstakes with Leap Day. You can enter to win a 5-day/4-night vacation at Disneyland Resort in California or Walt Disney World in Florida. Even if you don’t have kids, this would be a pretty sweet vacation. The Wife and I were just at WDW last February for the Disney Princess Half Marathon, and as adults, I think it’s just as fun to go to WDW!

Unfortunately Leap Day is in the middle of the week this year. I can’t the day off to enjoy Disneyland for 24 hours. But you should! Let me live vicariously through your adventure!

Last Sunday evening, we hoofed it to Santa Monica to see and listen to Amy Poehler and Jane Lynch speak. It was fun to listen to them play off each other and to hear Amy Poehler’s background. You can watch the video here – Bio channel has posted its Live Talks LA stuff here.

On Valentine’s Day, we were treated to Dandy Don’s ice cream sundaes at work. It was a welcome treat in the afternoon. Mine is vanilla bean ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, cookie bits and smashed cone bits.

I missed the rest of the week. Too busy. Not much to take a photo of. But on Friday, while chatting with Sheryl over the phone, I snapped the speaker cover off my door. My poor car is breaking down.

This weekend, the Wife and I headed to the Kings game. They had a ton of shots on goal, but we ultimately lost. The irony is that Cammalleri was a King at one point… he shot the only goal of the game.

The next day, my brother and I headed to 85C Bakery-Cafe in Hacienda Heights to pick up some goodies. I ordered the (iced) sea salt coffee, which was delicious! I’d reco this.

At the end of the day, I was back in my old hood. So I braved the line at Half & Half Tea House and picked up their “original” (?) drink: ice milk with pudding and honey boba. The line went out the door, and I waited about 15 minutes. The drink was good, but there wasn’t enough milk to suck down the boba and custard (pudding). By the time I got home, I had half a cup of pudding and boba uneaten.

And there you have it. I started my week listening to funny women, and I ended my week with some great Asian drinks. I may be starting this week with another great Asian drink, too!

O.M.G. I didn’t know Eoin Colfer was ending the series! D’oh!

I first started reading Artemis Fowl through audiobooks. I found them so entertaining and fun. I haven’t read the latest book (The Atlantis Complex) but it’s on my queue. I guess I’ll have two to read back-to-back! Artemis is like a modern-day Harry Potter/Bruce Wayne/James Bond hybrid. I absolutely recommend this series to tweens and teens. You could probably say the series caters to boys, but I think it’s fantastic enough for anyone.

Observations or things I’ve run into this week:

1. One of my favorite nail colors is this Turquoise and Caicos minty green/aqua by Essie. I bought it for $8 at Ulta, but Amazon has it for $4 and $4.50 (depending on size? or maybe it’s an older bottle.). No matter where I am, I get compliments on that color.
2. My manager is a bag lady too! Bag ladies unite!
3. Totally forgot about driving to Target for Jason Wu. Oh well.
4. My Drugstore.com orders were canceled! What the what!? I didn’t cancel them. Gahhhhh.
5. It’s been two weeks since I joined the gym, and I have yet to set foot in one.
