Citrus fruits
Most people take vitamin C to cure a cold. That’s because it helps build up your immune system by increasing the production of WBCs, which are key to fighting infections.

Popular citrus fruits include:

Oranges

Grapefruit

Lemons

Tangerines

Limes

Clementines

Garlic
Garlic’s immune-boosting properties seem to come from a heavy concentration of sulfur-containing compounds, such as allicin. Found in almost every cuisine in the world, Garlic adds a little zing to food. It is a must-have for your health. Early civilizations recognized its value in fighting infections. Garlic may also help lower blood pressure and slow down hardening of the arteries, as per the National Center for Complementary and Integrative HealthTrusted Source.

Broccoli
Broccoli is supercharged with minerals and vitamins. Packed with vitamins C, A and E, as well as fiber and antioxidants, broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables to consume. However, the key to keeping its power intact is minimal cooking— or better yet, no cooking at all.

Red bell peppers
Think again if you think citrus fruits have the most vitamin C of any fruit or vegetable. Red bell peppers contain twice as much vitamin C as citrus. Besides boosting immune system, it may help maintain healthy skin. Beta carotene helps keep your eyes and skin healthy. They’re also a rich source of beta carotene.

The American automotive industry had an immense impact on the domestic economy for years, through the boom and bust years of the 20th century. In fact. the number of new cars sold annually was a reliable indicator of the nation’s economic health.

But in 2007-2008 when the recession hit, new car sales declined precipitously, reflecting the overall decrease in consumer spending.

Although Ford had a cash reserve of billions as a hedge against hard times, other automakers like Chrysler and General Motors (GM) faced bankruptcy and the United States government stepped in with bailout money from the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) to rescue the sinking firms.

In early February 2012, the industry was enjoying a brisk recovery, and big profits were posted again. Ford, GM, and Chrysler, Detroit’s so-called “Big Three,” the classic OEM manufacturers, were flourishing. In 2012, American automaking companies reigned worldwide as the biggest and most profitable. Few could have foreseen the industry colossus which rose from its inauspicious origins more than a century earlier.

The invention of the automobile and the mass production techniques of Henry Ford, made the machine affordable. The American economy has been transformed by this key element in its prosperity.

Tens of thousands of jobs were created as the industry grew. Ford’s model Ts became the first most popular, affordable, mass produced cars.

The machine tool makers and steel industry also flourished as the automotive industry required supplies of components for the chassis, engines, and other metal fixtures of the cars. Beyond these basics, every car needed a battery, head lights, interior upholstery and paint. Entirely new businesses, or subsidiaries of existing business, were created to meet the needs of the automobile industry as it grew incrementally year after year

Mistrust toward financial institutions and banks prompts more fearful individuals to seek alternative venues to park their capital. Given their participation in the reckless lending that led up to the housing bubble bursting and triggered the Great Recession, others may be avoiding the banks on principle. Of course, banks look safer than the wildly volatile stock market since the coronavirus outbreak. But all the same, it’s worth looking at these seven alternatives.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Coronavirus outbreak, but there are alternative places to put money.

The FDIC protection for deposits makes banks look appealing in difficult times, such as the

Real estate can produce income, but can be risky.

Federal bonds are considered very safe, but have very low returns.

Luxury assets are tangible, but lag stock market returns.

Precious metals, especially gold, offer an alternative to stocks and bonds.

Businesses are another place to put money, including farms.

Hidden cash isn’t secure and loses value over time, if there is inflation.

Why Keep Money Outside of the Bank?

FDIC states that “no depositor has ever lost a penny of insured deposits since the FDIC was created in 1933.” However, FDIC insurance only covers $250,000 per bank account. This applies to both the initial principal as well as to any interest earned.</pp>

Meanwhile, over the past 60 years, investments in the S&P 500 Index have yielded an average return of about 8%. However, the long-term record for great returns in the markets is dotted with downturns that shake the confidence of a few investors. Overall in 2018, most stock indexes dropped by 4% to 6%. That was the worst record in 10 years until we got to the market drops triggered by the coronavirus outbreak.

If you’re still looking for alternative places to park your money, here are seven possibilities:

Precious Metals

Real Estate

Cryptocurrency

Federal Bonds

Luxury Assets

In a Business, Perhaps a Farm?

Cash, Hidden Away

A recent study published in Seminars in Preventive and Alternative Medicine revealed a growing list of benefits of vitamin C.

Vitamin C is a safe and effective nutrient. It is thought to help prevent more serious complications. It may not actually be the cure for the common cold, although the benefits of vitamin C may include protection against cardiovascular disease, immune system deficiencies, eye disease, prenatal health problems, and even skin wrinkling.

Study researcher Mark Moyad, MD, MPH, of the University of Michigan sais that the more we study vitamin C, the better our understanding of how diverse it is in protecting our health, from cardiovascular, cancer, stroke, eye health [and] immunity to living longer. Vitamin C has received a great deal of attention, and with good reason. Higher blood levels of vitamin C may be the ideal nutrition marker for overall health.

How Much Vitamin C Is Enough?
It is just not practical for most people to consume the required servings of fruits and vegetables needed on a consistent basis, whereas taking a once-daily supplement is safe, effective, and easy to do,” Moyad says. He also notes that only 10% to 20% of adults get the recommended nine servings of fruits and vegetables daily.

Most of the studies Moyad and his colleagues examined used 500 daily milligrams of vitamin C to achieve health results. That’s much higher than the RDA of 75-90 mg per day for adults. Moyad says that you may need to take a dietary supplement of vitamin C to gain all the benefits, unless you can eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. He suggests taking 500 mg per day, in addition to eating five servings of fruits and vegetables.

1. Look for bargains and compare prices
With so many online retailers now selling high-end pieces, you need to be able to easily tell what’s good versus what’s just expensive junk! If you are looking to purchase expensive jewelry pieces, it’s very important to understand what you’re buying.
Once you find something you like, spend some time trying to find it cheaper with another retailer. Amazon is a very useful place to quickly see thousands of similar or identical products.
You don’t want to spend a small fortune on your accessories because fashions and your taste and style will probably change. You want good quality, but at a price that doesn’t break the bank.

2. Browse social media for divine inspiration!
Social media sites like Instagram and Pinterest are perfect places to start looking for ideas. You can see more detail than you might if you head straight to the online store because they’re designed to showcase products in a very visual way.
Another good reason for using Instagram for ideas is that retailers often post discount codes for their products. This can be a great way to grab a bargain! Speaking of which…

3. Decide what pieces you need before you start looking
Instead of randomly browsing through endless product listings, you can target specific pieces.
Figuring out what you need before you look online, will save you a lot of time. Look for something that you know will work with as many outfits as possible. Not only what’s currently in your wardrobe, but also with outfits you’re likely to buy in the near future.

Men’s fashion has always been popular in the spotlight. But, the attention to the finer details often gets overlooked by most men. While the front runners of apparel such as shirts and jeans get our top focus and consideration, accessories for men tend to be ignored. This is unfortunate considering accessories can easily make or break our style and outfit. So, below we’ve outlined the best accessories a man should own.

Eye Wear
Fake eyeglasses look weird. So stick to sunglasses, if you don’t need prescription glasses. Good glasses can really elevate an outfit. Consider your facial shape when wearing eyewear; more rectangular glasses look better on rounder faces, while faces with sharp features, such as a strong jawline, can more easily wear round glasses.

Rings
Men’s rings should not be limited to marriage, nor should they be limited to gold or silver.
Simple bands are usually best. Do not be afraid to try exotic materials.

Hats
It is very difficult to wear a hat properly. Avoid felt or wool hats, such as the classic fedora or trilby, casually. Use the wool hat with your suit. For very casual wear, baseball caps, beanies, bucket hats are more appropriate. Straw hats are great in that they’re lightweight and make the hat more casual. Reserve hats with a real brim, such as the panama, for a time you wear a collar.

Scarves
Scarves are a very large accessory and can easily help provide a pop of color to your outfit, or rein in louder pieces. Scarves are great; but only when the weather necessitates it. A heavy scarf in the heat is completely inappropriate.

On Sunday, Feb. 16, Rebel Wilson, 39, looks superb! The Australian actress spent the day at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and showed off her amazing slimmed down figure. She kept her look casual in a long sleeved black t-shirt, a skinny pair of leggings with leather details that showed off her toned legs, and fresh white sneakers. Rebel is seriously in the best shape of her life and all of her efforts at the gym are clearly paying off! The Cats star accessorized with black sunglasses, a festive pair of Minnie Mouse ears, and a black leather backpack, along with a trusty Apple watch.

Rebel was joined by a group of friends — including hair stylist Nicole Leal — for her day at the Happiest Place on Earth. They were shown around the park by a VIP tour guide. Naturally, there’s plenty to see at the park and Rebel made sure to check it out. “Rise of the Resistance! Rebel scum unite! This ride is sooooooo cool!” she captioned a series of photos, including one of her standing in front of a row of storm troopers, and two others with her friends on the ride.

She has been showing off her slimmed down figure in recent weeks, and as she arrived at the Vanity Fair Oscar party on Sunday, Feb. 9, she looked absolutely gorgeous! She stunned in a fitted floor length hot pink dress with a sweetheart neck line, perfectly hugging her curves in all the right places.

Eat regular meals
Eating at regular intervals during the day helps to burn more calories and at a faster rate. It also decreases the temptation to snack on foods high in fat and sugar.

Do not skip breakfast
Skipping breakfast does not help you to lose weight. You may end up snacking more throughout the day because you feel hungry.

Get more active
Being active is key to losing weight and keeping it off. In addition to providing lots of health benefits, exercise can help burn off the excess calories you cannot lose through diet alone.

Eat plenty of fruit and veggies
Veggies and fruit are low in fat and calories, and high in fibre – 3 essential ingredients for successful weight loss. They also contain plenty of minerals and vitamins.

Eat high fibre foods
High fibre foods can help one keep feeling full, which is perfect for losing weight. Fibre is only found in plant-based food, such as veggies, fruits, wholegrain bread, oats, brown rice, pasta, beans, peas and lentils.

Use a smaller plate
This can help you eat smaller portions. By using smaller bowls and plates, you may be able to gradually get used to eating smaller portions without going hungry. It takes about 20 minutes for the stomach to tell the brain it’s full, so stop eating before you feel full and eat slowly.

Drink plenty of water
People sometimes confuse hunger and thirst with each other. You can end up consuming extra calories when a glass of water is really what you need.

Read food labels
You choose healthier options if you know how to read food labels. Use the calorie information to work out how a particular food fits into your daily calorie allowance on the weight loss plan.
