Mydebugger – Best debugging solution for Mysql

I have been looking for a good solution to debug mysql stored procedures that I have been writing in mysql. For years as an employee of big businesses I developed in Oracle with Toad which had a great debugger to let me step through my code and view the value of variables. Since I have become self employees and have been working for small business that doesn’t have the budget for Oracle I have been developing in mysql. Naturally I tried Toad for mysql (since it is free) unfortunately doesn’t have the same quality debugger that Toad for Oracle does. I have been looking for a low budget light-weight debugger to run. I googled mysql debugger and came up with Mydebugger. After using it for just a few hours I am very impressed. I was able to step though my code, set watch variables, run to cursor and set break points all form within Mydebugger. The only downside for me is that I am on a Mac and Mydebugger is a windows program. However it is lightweight enough that I am able to run Mydebugger in VirtualBox running Windows XP with a mere 256 MB of ram and it is not slowing down my machine at all. All in all Mydebugger is a great lightweight tool for debugging stored procedures on Mysql. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a solution to their debugging needs
