I always love getting the opportunity to photograph people in their own homes. Everyone is already comfortable with their surroundings, so it generally results in a more relaxed photoshoot right from the beginning. I also believe that location is a character in the story of each photo, so when a session takes place somewhere that is already filled with so many warm memories, the photographs become even more meaningful. Last week I was delighted to capture four-week-old Keenan and his bright bright eyes in his Airdrie home. Don and Tanya, you were such a pleasure to work with and I hope you love these photos as much as I do!

I remember meeting Jason & Tara’s son Jake for the first time when he was just a few days old. He was the first of 10 boys and 3 girls in our prenatal class to be born (ours was second last), and he just gets cuter every time I see him! We met up at Edworthy Park on a sunny (but chilly!) day last weekend, and I’m so pleased with how this session turned out.

I met Kevin and Eileen through our prenatal class when we were preparing for the arrival of our own little one earlier this year. Since the birth of their son George, I’ve been able to watch him grow and change as we’ve attended several playdates together. It was a pleasure being able to take their family portraits this year!

Last weekend took me to a park in Cochrane, Alberta, where I met up with Doug, Sarah, Braedan and Brittany. These pictures speak for themselves in showing how fun this family is and how committed they are to each other. We had such a great time! Last week I met up with Marty & Jeanne and their son Ryder. Isn’t he the cutest??! He had a blast looking at ducks by the lagoon, playing with mom’s scarf, tasting sticks, eating leaves… It’s awesome to be a six-month-old! I had so much fun capturing their adventure at the park. Enjoy!

I love autumn. The air is crisp, the leaves crunch beneath your feet, and the colours of the trees paint an ever-changing palette over the landscape. But what I love most are times spent with family – gathered around a holiday feast, huddled around a glowing fire, or outside enjoying the last hints of summer before the inevitable arrival of winter.

Earlier this week, I was so privileged to be able to witness and capture some great memories of the Weppler Family outside of their rural Albertan home. Thank you Ross, Lorna, Kurt, Cory, Barbie and Sarah (& Mojo!) for a wonderful evening!

Calgary Wedding Photography – Andrew & Kathleen :: Married!

One month ago today, Andrew and Kathleen exchanged vows at Knox United Church in downtown Calgary. It was a gorgeous wedding full of joy and excitement. The wedding party braved swarms of mosquitoes and as a result I was able to capture some beautiful moments! The day wrapped up with a reception at Sirocco Golf Club, and I was blessed to witness the love that surrounds this couple as their friends and family expressed their support through well-worded speeches. As always, I wish A&K all the best in life and love!

I was so excited when David & Paula asked me to photograph their first pregnancy. We took a beautiful walk in Cochrane and finished the session in their home. I definitely felt privileged to be able to capture so many beautiful emotions surrounding the anticipation of a new baby. I know they will be amazing parents!
