Sittin Sidewayz...Boys in a daze...

The Wizards are 1-11. They are probably going to end up the worst team in the league by the end of the season. This past weekend the 76ers crushed the Wizards twice in two days and basically embarrassed the Wizards. Is anyone gonna watch this game. I may not. Instead as John's brother Paul says, I'm gonna bang me some Maze...well maybe not, that music is as boring as the Zards.

They see me rollin', they hatin'...

Yeah I'm hating on the Rockets. Who do they even have on their roster? Yao Ming is gone. Tracy McGrady is gone. Aaron Brooks is trapped in China. So who exactly is on the team? Kyle Lowery & Kevin Martin. Are those NBA players or two guys that work in cubicles at the office? I think the Wiz have a shot. Plus JaVale McGee is ridin' dirty after a 23 point, 18 rebound, 5 block night.

Lil' Flip Saunders...Game Over

Flip Saunders continues to be employed. Flip. It took him about 5 games before he finally changed up the lineup and he continues to let the players do whatever they want. Flip. Jog down the court. Flip. Don't get back on D. Flip. Jack up a terrible three. Flip. This guy needs to go. Game Over.

The Wizards are bad. Who? Mike Jones? No...The Wizards...The fans don't even want the Wizards. With Yao Ming gone, and a non-big named Rockets roster, combined with the fact that this game is at 2pm on a Monday, there may be 500 fans at the arena. I may go just to be part of history for the lowest attended NBA game in history.

Wizards Loaf, Whine, & Lose

The Wizards continue to do things that are unacceptable probably on each of the other 29 NBA teams, and Flip Saunders doesn't seem to care. Guys like McGee, Crawford, and Nick Young get frustrated when things don't go their way and they take plays off. There was at least one instance against the Sixers for each of those players where I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

McGee got hit and a no call so he decided to just stand in the paint with his hands on his knees and not guard his guy. Crawford didn't get an assist because his teammate missed, then turned the ball over on the next play and so instead of chasing down the ball he just didn't feel like it and jogged down the court. Nick Young tried to draw a foul and it wasn't called so he basically didn't even go down the court on D, choosing to instead make pouty faces while the Sixers ran the 5 on 4.

Honestly how do you think you deserve a foul call? You don't deserve anything, especially not the millions you are making.

How those 3 guys aren't disciplined is incredible. This even seems to rub off on the other players who work hard like Booker and Singleton. If I was a teammate of the slacker guys I would fight them in practice. Instead the whole aura of the Wizards is this entitled, slacking off attitude, and nobody seems to be accountable for anything.

You can see this at the end of games when the Wizards are down. They just stop playing defense and start playing street ball offense. They give up and they should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves.

So I hope fans enjoy all this losing because it will never go away with the operation they have going on here in DC...oh and Andray Blatche is injured. Can't wait to see him come back and join the big 3.

The Wizards Played Last Night, So You Know They Lost

The Wizards lost to the Sixers for the 2nd straight day to fall to a 1-11 record. It was another pretty bad game with lots of turnovers, mistakes, and one on one play.

The team continues to play a one on one game and the entitled players slack off when they get frustrated. They kept it close for a while but again in the 4th quarter the game turned into which Wizard will take a jumper. Fans actually clap when they make these terrible shots. What is wrong with our fan base? Jordan Crawford getting cheered for pulling up at the 3 point line and making it? Do you not realize that the next 10 times he does that he will miss? Do you realize that is not part of what the coach told him to do? Stop clapping.

The Verizon Center was empty as everyone was home watching Tim Tebow get destroyed and whoever runs the in game entertainment decided that instead of having the arena sound like a library, they would just constantly play music. On offense random songs played all night and on Defense they played the Star Wars Storm Trooper song and the Psycho stabbing song. Didn't seem to help. But it did make the game even more annoying to watch.

JaVale Mcgee played well but he is so out of shape. With Blatche out, the Wiz need McGee in the game, but at times he is so tired he can't play offense or defense. I'm pretty sure that 300 pound NFL linemen are in better shape. Despite being exhausted, McGee played a good game. McGee finished with 23 points 18 boards and 5 blocks.

Nick Young led the Wizards with 27 playground points. I think 0 of those points were in the flow of the offense. They were all Nick firing up jumpers. ZERO assists for NY. The crowd likes him making these shots though as they cheer when he makes them. Stop encouraging this.

Vesely is back to not playing, and that's great for his rookie development. The team sucks, put him out there, let him get dunked on and pushed around, it will make him stronger.

While Singleton & Booker give lots of energy and play hard, they don't really add anything to the offense. However there are no better options on this team, so they will have to be in the game a lot. Good role players having to start due to being on an incompetent team.

Wall drives to the hoop well, but that's all he can do. He misses jumpers, and throws bad passes. 8 TOs.

Next up is a Monday afternoon game at 2pm. I would expect a crowd smaller than a WNBA game.

New Traditions: Stop Watching

Sixers 120, Wizards 89

The Wizards got Blowed Out by the 76ers in Philly on Friday night. (Meanwhile the hockey team won again). In the 2nd quarter Philly couldn't buy a bucket. Instead of taking advantage to take the lead, the Wiz just matched each Sixers miss with one of their own. So in the 3rd when the Sixers stepped up their game and shot like 78%, the Wizards were left in the dust.

The highlight of the game was when the Sixers fans got on their feet to cheer for Free Big Macs with 7 minutes left in the game. The Wizards obviously didn't play D and Jodie Meeks hit a 3 to which the crowd erupted like it was the game winner. Embarrassing for the Wiz. Later in the 4th a point guard dunked on Jan Vesely.

Flip Saunders decided that the key to beating the Sixers was establishing JaVale McGee in the post. Why? I have no idea. Maybe he was on drugs. JaVale has no post game. He shoots layups that don't even go near the rim, and takes jump shots. If you foul him, he makes no free throws. (4 for 13)

Nick Young continued his season-long quest to have a heart attack. While he was making some shots, his entire offense consists of catching the ball, holding it for a few seconds, dribbling, then doing a predetermined spinning fadeaway. Terrible. This isn't the playground. This is the NBA.

John Wall continues to struggle. He played under more control but he still can't make a jumper and takes them anyway. I feel for Wall who drives to the hoop and kicks it out to the open 3 point shooters who can't make a 12 footer let alone a 3. (5 Turnovers)

Jan Vesely...OMG...he has an uglier jumper than Wall. His shots almost hit the freaking ceiling in the arena. Why would you draft a guy who can't shoot? He looked OK before, but he has 0 offense.

Who is Mo Evans. He looks like an OLD version of Derick Fisher.

Jeb Crawford...what can I say. The Wiz go on a little 5 point run and on the next possession Crawford decides he will go coast to coast and try to score on 3 defenders. I saw it in his eyes when he got the ball. This is not a joke. I would have bet $500 he was going to shoot it. Phil Chenier put Jeb as the StarTrack before the game. Terrible decision Phil. You get an F.

In the 4th quarter with the Wiz down by 30ish points, Crawford crossed-over 2x & fired up a made 3 pointer, then made a crazy layup and the foul a minute later. He decided that was good enough playing to do some mean muggin. Your move Flip.

Rashard Lewis picked up some easy buckets in scrub time as did Seraphin. Please strike those stats from the record.

Thankfully Tim Tebow will be on TV and I won't have to deal with the disaster that is the Washington Wizards.

This weekend is a Wizards & Sixers home & home starting on Friday night in Philly. There is also a game on Saturday, but it kind of conflicts with #TebowTime and #WizardsTime is much less intriguing. I'm sure Verizon will be more crowded than last Tuesday, but not by much.

The Wizards are 1-9 and are the worst team in the NBA. They have played 2 decent games this season, but other than those outliers, they have been playing terribly. On the other end you have ~~Michael Jordan~~ Phil Collins coaching the Sixers who currently have a surprising 7-3 record and will continue to rock the mic.

Essaywhuman?!!!??!

Last game the Wizards scored 64 points. No I didn't leave off "in the first 3 quarters". That was 64 points in the game. An entire NBA basketball game. I was kind of wishing for the lockout to come back.

If you were worried 'bout where I been or who I saw or what club I went to with my homies, baby don't worry you know that I'm on the Wizards, and nobody cares.

Andray Blatche is going to miss the game and that is a dagger to the team. Sure he "sucks" but he shakes up the game a bit when he comes in at center. It is bad when he plays major minutes, but it is also bad when he is out.

Illadelphia Halflife

The Sixers are a pretty decent team. Sweet Lou Williams is leading the team in scoring and while Andre Iguodala is in somewhat of a slump he could still break out against the Wiz. Jrue Holiday > John Wall, at least for now. Last year 2 Wizards wins came against the Sixers in OT, so this game could potentially be a close one. We'll see who shows up.

Rose-less Bulls Beat The Wiz

The Wizards are now 1-9 after a loss to a Bulls team without their best player Derrick Rose. The Bulls didn't really know what to do without DR who had played in something like 90 straight games, but luckily for them they were playing the Wizards. I thought the Zards played well and I wouldn't have been upset that they lost, but in the final 8 or so minutes they really let down and then gave up.

Raise your hand if you knew who John Lucas was...No he didn't make the Star Wars movies. However, he did torch the Wizards for 25 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds. That wasn't Derrick Rose. That was John Lucas.

Booker, Singleton, & McGee were the Wizards good players in this game, but those guys didn't have much help. You already know what they do. Continue to do it...

John Wall played awful. If he doesn't slow down he is 1) never going to make a layup 2) never going to get back on defense when he misses the layup, and 3) is going to get hurt. He can't make a 3 pointer, he can't make a jump shot, he can't make a foul shot, and he can't make a layup. A non-quadruple threat.

Vesely, who was exciting last game, played well off the ball but he is very small. His rebounds and steals come from poking with his long arms, hustling, and playing sneaky. It doesn't come from size or power. I still like him in the lineup.

Missing Blatche hurt the Wizards too. Yeah I actually just typed that. McGee played almost 40 minutes. That is too much. He actually needed to play 48 minutes because when he was out the Bulls owned the inside. Seraphin is not an answer. So yes Andray, I'll admit the Wizards need you

And now the bad...

In the 4th quarter the Wizards just got manhandled by the Bulls on the boards. It was embarrassing. One possession the Bulls picked up 3 or 4 offensive rebounds in a row and killed about 4x24 seconds. The Bulls big men also scored at will on the inside.

What didn't help was Flip Saunders insistence that Jordan Crawford is a talented player. Saunders seemed pissed at Nick Young (as he should be) but he gave Crawford who is worse, lots of key minutes. This guy will never stick with an NBA team ever. He is not an NBA player. An example.

With a little over 8 minutes left, Kyle Korver ran Crawford off a screen to hit a 2 pointer. Crawford decided he would be the point guard on the next possession and he went down the floor, didn't pass to anyone, and air balled a layup. Down on the other end, Korver hit another jumper with Crawford on him. Crawford went down on offense, caught a John Wall pass, and fired up a brick. After a Wizards play on the other end that led to a fast break, Crawford picked up a technical foul by pushing Korver who fouled him on the open layup.

From now on he is not Jordan Crawford. He will now be known as Jud Crawford.

The sad part is that Nick Young isn't too much better, and on top of that Flip doesn't like Young it seems. Roger Mason gets 0 minutes, so I don't know what the answer is. I do know that Young would have kept the game closer than Jud.

Despite all the negatives, the Wiz didn't really regress. They are gonna be outplayed often this year but they put in another solid effort until they gave up. Flip needs to keep the hard workers in the game, and the players who don't work hard out of the game. If they do that the team will be respectable.

...because I'm pretty sure I saw a 1 in the win for the Wizards. I mean, that can't be right can it. And it looked like they won by a big margin too...no...no way...I thought I saw Andray Blatche & Rashard Lewis benched. I thought I saw Shelvin Mack on the floor. And I must have really been smoking on somethin, cuz I thought I saw Jan Vesely play some interesting basketball...

Ride the Rodeo...

Last night was fun. However, tonight is a new night. If DC sports have taught me anything, it is to not get excited after 1 win. It seems to me that teams in this area are so satisfied with a big win, that they digress the next game. And with the Bulls as an opponent, it won't be easy to play the same way as they did against the Raptors. Maybe D-Rose doesn't play, but will the Wizards?

Do you wanna ride...

Do the Wizards want to play? I have a key for the guys. Cover Kyle Korver and cover Ronnie Brewer. Even if Rose is out of the game, you think Rip Hamilton can't penetrate and kick? The Wizards constantly give up huge and easy 3 pointers, and those two guys on the Bulls can shoot. Also something else to watch out for is Noah outhustling and outworking Blatche/McGee. Basically get in the backseat of that caddy & chop it up like Do or Die.

After 8 losses in 7 poorly played games, the Washington Wizards picked up their first win of the season in front of a small but very pumped up crowd at Verizon Center. The Wiz played a very good game and looked nothing like the last 8 games.

Let me set the scene for you. The arena was filled with a bunch of people who just paid $2 for a ticket to an NBA game. These people were SO happy about the deal. They would have paid $2 to watch paint dry if the regular price was like $20. The euphoria from the deal was extended by the fact that the Wizards were leading for much of the game.

The people who purchased the tickets expected to go watch G-Wiz, G-Man, and guess at which cup the verizon TV INTERNET PHONE is under. That was worth $2. They never thought they would see basketball. Expecting nothing but the worst and getting anything better leads to awesomeness. And a win...what a deal.

And...Flip Saunders...wait for it...you won't expect it...it's coming...closer...almost...

Coached a basketball game!

Coaching move #1: Booker Starting, Blatche Off Bench
Blatche doesn't deserve to start, but also plays much better without all the pressure of being a starter and the captain. Booker brings energy to the game, and is a good role player. Blatche also was thinking shot less (not never, but less) and with him also being a role player he does much better.

Coaching move #2: Using A Backup Point Guard
Prior to this game Jordan Crawford was playing point guard when Wall was out. He was possibly the worst point guard in NBA history. I don't think I'm exaggerating. Shelvin doesn't shoot, he plays point guard. Just what the Wizards need. Probably not a long term answer, but good for this season.

Coaching move #3: Less Lewis/Crawford
The Wizards should have cut Lewis when they had the chance. They guy adds nothing to the team but decaying skill. Crawford is a street ball player, I like when he relaxes, but he just makes horrible decisions way too much. I still would like to see less Young, but Mason isn't the answer, so they have to go with Nick.

Coaching move #4: Jan Vesely
Finally Janet got some decent minutes. He played much better than expected, and he looks much better than expected. He had 5 steals in 16 minutes and got the crowd excited with his defense & off the ball play. It is too early to go crazy, but the guy needs to get minutes this season. 20 per.

The only downside of the game was how terrible the Raptors played. It is hard to gauge how well the Wiz did with such a poor performance from the opponent. Toronto dribbled off their legs, threw bad passes, and took several bad shots.

McGee also had an off night, but they didn't really need him vs Toronto...

I really wanted to go lame here. So while I was looking at the list of Toronto entertainers, I had a few choices. Of course I wanted to go with the great Snow, and his amazing hit Informer. However, I have no idea what he is saying, (A liki-boom boom now?) and I don't think anyone reading this knows either. So no Snow, despite the fact it was snowing today. Mistake? Maybe.

The next choice was Deborah Cox. Her song Nobody's Supposed To Be Here works really well for a Raptors @ Wizards matchup. Not only is she from Toronto, but the lyrics define the crowd at Verizon Center. Seriously, why is anyone going to be there? However, that song is too depressing and watching the team is already depressing enough. Even the dance mix is depressing.

Kardinal Offishal, Drake, eh...I came upon this video on YouTube, and went with it instead of anyone established. I found a guy called Millionz. I listened to one song that popped up, and it wasn't terrible. So he wins. I actually kind of like it. You can watch it at the bottom of the post, but it is really NSFW, and some non-good words.

Washington Non-Basketball Players

So I guess the 0-8 Wizards will be playing on Tuesday. No word on whether or not Rashard Lewis has a jacket this time. I'm sure if he does he will go right back into the starting role with no punishment at all, which is how an 0-8 team apparently operates.

Toronto just beat the Bucks tonight and Bargnani scored 31 points and while the team is only 4-5, they are facing the Wizards. And note to Wizards fans...don't look at the schedule...it isn't looking good. One good thing about this matchup is it is in DC so there won't be any terrible fake advertisements under the basket making it look like everyone is going to break an ankle on every possession.

Wanna go to the game? Tickets are like $2 on Stub Hub. (I went to Nationals Opening day for $0.75 so I don't think this is a DC sports low)

Is this an NBA mandated thing to get everyone to the voting site? Doubtful. Looks like he just thinks he should be going to the All-Star game.

I mean why not, his team has won 0 games and he averaged a whopping 12 points per game! But Shaq and Barkley keep talking about him so he must be an all star right! His numbers are slightly better than Brendan Haywood's numbers were, and Haywood was the 4th best player on a 5-8 seed team.

The front office can't be encouraging this right...

Four players made the ballot. Was the person fired? Andray Blatche? Nick Young? Why not throw Jordan Crawford on there too! I know I'm writing in Rashard Lewis.

And yes JaVale & the web site, thank you for reminding me to go vote for the all star game. I won't be selecting a single Wizards player, and especially not you. I will be not voting for you guys in all 16 languages on all the platforms the NBA has set up.

Wizards Booed At Home, Fans Have Seen Enough

As the Wizards walked into the locker room to a chorus of boos from the home fans, who wasted a nice Sunday afternoon at the arena instead of watching football, Janet Vesely remained on the floor to exchange handshakes with some of the Timberwolves players. Meanwhile his teammates sulked towards the locker room too embarrassed to even look up at the crowd.

With 10 seconds left in the game, Jordan Crawford threw a pass to the Timberwolves, a fitting ending to a terrible game. After the turnover the players on the floor walked towards the locker room with their heads down with time still remaining on the clock. I guess the players had enough, and they didn't need to watch the final 10 seconds of the game. I wish they walked off of the floor in the first minute of the game, it would have been less embarrassing.

The Verizon Center, although really quiet, had more people than I expected. When the crowd wasn't booing, cursing at Andray Blatche, or shaking their heads in disbelief, the arena sounded like the library. The loudest the crowd got was during the t-shirt toss, which was only slightly louder than when they booed Andray Blatche after he missed another long jumper.

The body language of the Wizards is pathetic. Jordan Crawford & Andray Blatche should be benched. At one point in the game after committing a foul, Blatche went over and took a seat on the bench. However, he was still technically in the game, but he wanted to sit down, so I guess that is cool. Flip didn't seem to mind. McGee who usually gets lumped in with the "knuckleheads" played with some attitude, a small bright spot.

Crawford & Nick Young are offense killers. Every time they catch the ball they hold it for a second or two before deciding if they are going to chuck up a shot or not. And when Crawford is the point guard, which for some reason Flip thinks is a good idea, you should just turn off your TV.

They should have a channel on TV called the Kevin Love channel. This station would feature a camera that stays on Love an entire game. Watch that guy work. He doesn't stand around like the Wizards big men. He fights for the ball.

Back in 2006, Prince rented out the house of NBA player Carlos Boozer. Of course since it was Prince he did not move in and unpack boxes. Instead, he painted the house with purple stripes and added purple rugs wherever he could. The story.

If Chris Singleton isn't starting in this game, then the NBA should throw the Wizards out of the league. The Wizards have a problem. The team does whatever they want with no consequences. They have guys like Trevor Booker & Chris Singleton playing basketball while the rest of the team plays street ball. Now those 2 guys def have flaws, but they deserve to be on the floor. McGee, Wall, Singleton, Booker, Blatche. Screw both shooting guards.

It looked like something a figure skater would wear...

They never wanted to cause me any sorrow...they never wanted to cause me any pain...they only wanted to see me cheering...they only wanted to see me cheering in the purple seats...Why are the seats purple by the way? I feel like this is the first real chance the Wiz have to pick up a win. They played hard against the Knicks and if they repeat that level they will win.

When wolves cry...

Minnesota has 2 wins. That is 2 more than the Wiz, the egg mcmuffin of the NBA. They may be the second worst team in the league, but probably not. Kevin Love is the man. Kevin Love would die 4 u. Ricky Rubio will also be in action, a guy the Wiz passed up a few years back in exchange for Mike Miller & Randy Foye, the Raspberry Berets. I'd trade rosters with them in 1 second.

JaVale McGee who gets all of his rebounds based on height and 0 rebounds based on boxing out or hustle will have his hands full with the tougher and hungrier Kevin Love. John Wall may ( but shouldn't ) have his hands full with Ricky Rubio making crazy passes to open 3 point shooters. The Wiz also have to watch out for Michael Weedsly and the 2nd worst 1st round pick in NBA history Darko Milicic (behind K Brown) Jordan Crawford should play 0 minutes, but won't...

Fabolous aka Mase 2 is the perfect artist for this game. Not only is he from NY (although it is gonna be Nets territory) he also spelled his name wrong. Fabolous is not a word. The Wizards are the type of team who would make a huge decision like spelling their name wrong (or changing it to something sci-fi geeks like) so this is a perfect matchup.

The Wizards are terrible. The only thing that keeps me around is listening to old songs when I write these game previews. What more can I say about the Wizards. They are a bunch of players with athletic ability but not much basketball talent or IQ. They don't listen to coaches, they do what they want, they play video games all day & night, they don't practice hard, yada yada yada. I'm sick. These guys are more concerned with the diamonds in their damn chain...

You can't deny it, the Wiz AREN'T fuckin' ridas, they aren't even fuckin' basketball players...and yes you do wanna F with them if you are an opposing team...

At times JaVale McGee, Andray Blatche, Nick Young, and John Wall show flashes of greatness. They never use the talent to carry the team, they use it to fill up a stat sheet. They also never do it at the same time, and never do it on a consistant level. But whenever one is having a good night the others are struggling, and either way no defense is ever being played when Booker & Singleton aren't on the floor.

One and then the Two, Two and then the Three, Three and then the Four, then you gotta Breathe...then the lead is Five, Five and then the Six, Six and then the Seven, then you gotta Leave...

The Knicks are coming in with some national attention because of their 2-4 record. While only people in New York actually thought the Knicks would be good, the "media" apparantly felt the same way despite claiming to not feel that way. Anyways the Wizards are a perfect opponent for them to get back on the right track. The track of finishing the 8th seed.

The Wizards aren't a movement all by themselves. They def aren't a force when their together. They aren't all good by themselves. So baby girl...what makes them better? Wiz will score 82, Knicks by 20, just throw it in the bag...This night after night of losing isn't going to be good for John Wall, who has the ability to leave DC after his rookie contract is up...baby don't go!

Oh hot damn...this is my jam...

The Wizards are coming off of their best performance of the season including good games from JaVale McGee and Andray Blatche. However John Wall has been playing too fast and the Wizards can't make a decent percentage of shots, especially at the shooting guard position. They make me throw my hands in the ayer, ay, ayer, ayer, ay, ayer.

The Zards are low, low, low, low, low, low, low, low...

Despite the good play, the Washington Wizards are now the only team without a win in the NBA and playing against Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic isn't going to help much. Maybe if the Magic come out in apple bottom jeans the Wiz can pick up a W.

Wall spins them right round baby, right round...

In order to pick up a victory Wall needs to SLOW DOWN. He seemed exhausted at the end of last game and he often outruns his teammates down the floor (partly because they are jogging). Sometimes he expends all his energy to get to the basket and he misses the layup. When he goes down, he goes down down.

I'm blue and I'm in need of a high...

These are trying times for Wizards fans. We need a win. Our team is called the Wizards. That is a joke enough. But to be the only winless team. Double joke. I'd rather you call me Sugar than a Wizards fan sometimes.

Wizards Lack Of Backup Point Guard Helps Lead To Loss

During the loss on Monday night against the Celtics, John Wall was on the bench at a crucial time in the 4th quarter when the Celtics starters were on the floor. With Wall on the bench, the "point guard" Jordan Crawford led a terrible offense where he turned the ball over and led offensive possessions that featured ZERO passes and ONE poor shot.

In the final 5 minutes Wall turned the ball over 2 times on weak passes. It looked like he was tired. It looked like his passes didn't have the strength that they typically do. And why is he so tired? Because nobody can play PG well enough to give him the rest he needs. Add that to the fact that he has to carry an entire team on his back.

Jordan Crawford is not a point guard. He is nothing close to a point guard. So why is he the guy spelling John Wall when he needs a rest. The way the Wizards roster is structured, John Wall has to play every second of the game for the team to succeed. It is a terrible, TERRIBLE, roster. That is on the front office.

The problems started with the draft. As we all know, the Wizards used their 6th pick on a skinny guy from another country instead of picking up one of the 3 top college point guards that were available at that moment. The Wizards thinking was that they already had their point guard of the future, and should build youth in other places.

In the 2nd round the Wizards picked up Shelvin Mack, who didn't get any playing time against the Celtics. The Wizards instead went with Jordan Crawford as the fill-in for both games and he proceeded to turn the ball over as well as lead offensive sets where 0 passes were made. If Shelvin Mack isn't your backup point guard, then why didn't you pick up one in the offseason?

People were talking about signing Josh Howard and overlooking the point guard slot. Were there no Antonio Daniels types out there? Veterans with experience who could fill in for Wall? Not great players, but good point guards who have been around. A player that wouldn't just backup Wall, but would help mentor him. No Sam Cassell doesn't count. He isn't wearing a uniform.

Look at the Mavs last season and look at JJ Barea. That guy was a backup point guard who came off the bench and provided a spark. The Wizards have none of that. Wall out, spark gone.

So hopefully the Wizards can somehow get through the season with Wall not collapsing from exhaustion. Hopefully they start playing Shelvin Mack or sign Gilbert Arenas (I guess I'm not serious about that). If not they may not win a single game.

Wizards Play Basketball For 40ish Minutes, Games Are Still 48 Minutes

Washington Wizards 92, Boston Celtics 100

The Wizards played hard for most of the game but the Celtics were just too good down the stretch and they handed the Wizards their 5th straight loss, and 2nd to the Celts in two nights. The Wizards remain winless despite playing their best game of the season on Monday night, breaking 90 for the first time.

The game started out odd as Flip Saunders argued a call in the first two minutes of the game and ended up getting ejected for 2 technicals. Flip was gone, and the Wizards played better...is that a sign?

Andray Blatche played a good game, although mostly jumpers, and had 28 points and 9 boards. McGee while failing to box out ever still picked up 14 boards and contributed some good offense, hitting a few jump hooks along the way to 17 points.

Wall had 11 points and 8 assists but was forced to do too much and it caught up to him in the form of 7 turnovers. Wall was the reason the Wiz were in the game, but when he sat on the bench the Wizards did not have a backup point guard in place. Instead they had Jordan Crawford turning the ball over and hogging the ball for the entire 24 seconds of the shot clock. Shelvin Mack played 0 minutes. WTF.

The Wizards "shooting guards" Young & Crawford combined for 4 for 20 shooting (20%) for 15 points. Pathetic. Are people done with Nick Young yet?

Trevor Booker & Singleton both bring energy off the bench but they still have some team defense deficiencies. Rashard Lewis is just taking up space, although nobody is available to replace him, he played 40 minutes.

Next up is Dwight Howard and the Magic in FLA on Wednesday...ug...

DeMarcus Cousins & John Wall Together At Last?

With all the news about DeMarcus Cousins requesting/demanding a trade from Sacramento people are talking about a possible reunion of former Kentucky stars John Wall & Cousins. (People are joking about hiring Calipari too)

The first obstacle that people are worried about is his attitude. If he is demanding a trade in his 2nd season after 4 games, what is he going to do in the future? Cousins is a good player and I think the Wiz should try to get him, but not for too much. I'm not a big Cousins fan, but I can accept what he will do on the court.

Anyone, or anything else should be fair game. Get rid of Blatche, Young, Vesely, or whoever to get Cousins. If he is a cancer he is a cancer. The guys on the team already are a cancer as well.

The problem here is that the only pieces that the Wizards have that another team would want are in the untouchable zone. Other teams would give up better talent for Cousins...

No Help For Wall As Wizards Fall

Washington Wizards 86, Boston Celtics 94

John Wall (19pts, 8a, 7reb) led the Wizards, but didn't get enough help from his friends and the Wizards lost to the Celtics 94-86. The Wizards are now averaging only 83.5 points per game, which is downright awful. They have no chance to win games scoring that low.

The Wizards kept the Celtics lead to around 10 points for most of the game, but couldn't break through and take a lead. The Wizards were able to keep that close thanks to John Wall stepping up his game. Unfortunately the Wizards have no 3 point shooters, yet they shoot 16 of them (they made 2). Also unfortunate for the Wizards is the fact that the players around Wall don't help him at all.

John Wall gets the defensive rebound inside the paint. In less than a few seconds, Wall is in the paint on the other end of the court. The only problem. The rest of the team is jogging slowly down the floor behind him. If I was John Wall, I would be very discouraged.

Wall is a point guard who plays with speed. He pushes the ball up the court. He wants to run an offense. However, whenever he passes the ball, one of his teammates turns the team offense into an individual game. Instead of the ball swinging around and having an offensive flow, Wall's teammates slow the game down, take unneeded dribbles, and shoot terrible shots.

When Wall is playing on the court he looks tired. He looks frustrated. He looks discouraged. How could he not?

Welcome To Nick Young

Nick Young is a great example of a player the Wizards could get rid of and still win the 20 games they are going to win this season. On Friday night against the Bucks, Young shot 1-10 (10%) and scored 3 points. The team scored 80+ points and lost. Against the Hawks last week he shot 50% and scored 21 points, the team scored 80+ points and lost.

This guy does NOT help a team win basketball games. He just fills in missing points. Sometimes spectacularly. But take NY out of the game the Wiz will score around 80. Put him in and have him score 30 and the Wiz will score around 80.

Many fans were quite happy when the shooting guard was signed because Wizards fans know that Nick Young can score. They see him play amazing games and it makes him look like a great player.

However, the thing that fans do not seem to notice is that NY can't do anything but shoot. He basically offers nothing to the team except for hitting shots if he is on and missing shots if he is off. Nothing else. This was never more evident than it was on Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Everyone knows the saying "Good shooters keep on shooting" Nick Young seems to misunderstand that concept. If you are a good shooter and you are missing some shots, you create easier shots for yourself so you can get closer to the basket or get some foul shots. You do not just fire up shots.

However as I already said, NY does not have anything else to offer. He can't create better shots for himself. He can't drive to the basket. He can't get to the foul line. He can't do anything except shoot, and even that is streaky, unpredictable, and you can't trust it.

Front Office

The front office should have let Nick Young continue to sit on the open market. Nick Young would have sat home waiting for calls from other teams. He would keep checking to make sure the phone was plugged in. He would test his home phone by calling his cell phone and vice versa. However, the phones would not have been broken. That silence would have been the sound that sums up the "interest" for Nick Young. Nothing.

Nick would have had to come back begging for the Wizards to sign him for any amount of money, let alone the 9 million he wanted or the 3 million the Wizards gave him.

If this guy is on the roster again next season, I'm out...

Basketball For The People

The 2012 year will start out really tough for the Washington Wizards who start the year with a home & home against the Boston Celtics. When these two teams face each other it is always a good show at the Verizon Center, and you can often throw out the records of the teams as the game outcome becomes a toss up. Last season the terrible Wiz beat the good Celts 2 times at home. (Of course they lost both games in Boston)

The Funky Bunch

The Celtics have had a poor start to the season, losing their first 3 contests and finally picking up their first win of the season on Friday against the Pistons. These 2 games are going to be important for the Celtics to get back on the right track and they face the perfect team, the Wizards. They could be .500 by late Monday night.

Good Vibrations, Sweet Sensations

Last season the Wizards won 2 out of 4 against the Celts. That is about as far as sweet sensations go for the Zards.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side

I like the Wizards & Celtics to each win at home. Why not. I'm betting the farm on it. Yeah you are right, that isn't a "walk" on the wild side, that is a jump off of the top of the Wild Side bridge. But whatever, something about the Celts at Verizon.
