Sometimes a part of you
leaves on a plane
And you’re sad in a way
that is hard to explain
‘Cause you know that they’re going
to have a great time
And you know that they’ll only
be gone for a while

But you miss them.

Sometimes a part of you
catches a bus
To work or to school -
so what’s the big fuss?
You know that there’s nothing
to worry about
You know that they love you
without any doubt

But you miss them.

Sometimes a part of you
goes for a walk
And you never suspected
the last time you talked
Was the last that you’d see
of them during their life

And you miss them.

I wore this shirt especially for #piday today.
They happily announced this starting with an Employee Communication whimsically titled “We’ve Gone Banana’s!”

Ok, now I am painfully aware that I tend to spell poorly, so I rarely criticise when the thing that I do tend to notice - incorrect apostrophes - comes up - but the thing with this is that the headlines of the most recent 20 or so Employee Communications like this appear on the main intranet page - which I see many times each day. And with that there, every time I do, my eye can’t help but jump to it while my brain goes “Who is Banana?”, “Banana’s WHAT?”, and “How can the words ‘We’ve gone’ possibly fit into that sentence?” - all at once. It sort of hurts.

So, despite myself, I sent then an email begging them to change it.

I hope they do.
