Main-level bathroom remodeling update

Woke up today and Leah had finished up all of the painting. The bathroom is finally starting to come together. Here is a before and after shot, even though the baseboard and and touch-up work still needs to be done. You can see all the pictures of the remodeling we are doing (in sequential order) on the main level, here.

wical.com has moved to a new server. Everything is up and running, except for the photo gallery. I’ll get them up and running in the next day or so.

Just some random notes about the site. First off, when you are in the photo gallery, most of the files are named “number_number.”
The first number is the date, in the format YearMonthDate. So any photo named 081225_**** is a photo taken on December 25th, 2008. The second number is just the serial number applied to the photo by the camera. Most photos are named this way, except ones that are pretty old in the gallery. I’ll be naming this way from here on out, as well as trying to update the old ones to match this format.
Secondly, I’ve added a few links at the bottom of the right side bar. They are quick links to show the latest photos that have been uploaded, and direct links to any of the photos that have the kids tagged in them.
Not all the photos have been properly tagged or categorized over the years, but I am working on getting them all organized and updated.

Christmas come and gone

Now, wait a second here. I swear it was just a week ago that we were out trick or treating. This is all going by a bit too fast now a days, and to quote a friend of ours, “When the dept stores put out Christmas stuff before Halloween it kind dulls the entire season.” I have to agree with this one.
Regardless, Christmas morning went very well. Of course, the kids all enjoyed opening their presents, including those from Kathy, the Randalls, and GrandPa. By the time 1pm rolled around, I had to get to bed (since I worked last night,) so we still have to open presents from Nanna and Nanna Sue. I’m sure that will happen when I get home this morning One of the biggest hits has been Guitar Hero World Tour. While I was crashed out, Leah and kids were busy making sure that the new game was being broken in properly. Although I have no proof, I was told that Leah even got in a vocal’s performance in a few songs I posted a few more pictures to the Christmas 2008 album from yesterday morning, and may post some more from today’s opening of remaining presents, but it looks like the Christmas album for this year is already coming to a close.
My unprofessional advise of the day? Better slow down, you might miss something.

Ready for Santa

It’s been quite a week, and while I’ve been sleeping all day (I work tonight,) Leah’s been up making sure that cookies were baked for Santa tonight, and that all the presents were wrapped. Even at this point, Leah is still up making final preparations. With the new floor being installed, Alissa’s birthday, and regular day-to-day activities with 4 kids, it’s been pretty hectic over the past couple weeks. With all that said, it looks like we’ll still be ready for Santa. Just before I left for work, we all got together to set out the chocolate milk and cookies for the big man himself. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Eve, and to my family at home, I’ll be heading home as quick as possible in the morning

I uploaded some pictures and a short clip from my fathers day gift in 2005. This ranks as one of the most memorable experiences in my life, and one of the coolest presents ever. For fathers day, Leah hooked me up with a company called Sky Fighters (no longer in business.) The deal is you get to fly a WWII fighter plane through combat maneuvers against another customer flying another fighter plane. The captains took care of the take offs and landing’s, but we flew the rest of the trip.

Check out the video, it’s the best way to capture what it was like. And keep an eye on the horizon as it will give you a good idea of the steep banks and rolls that we did. There were a couple times I was told we were pushing close to 4g’s and we were inverted more than a few times. Loved every second of it!

A visit to Santa

Luckily, we caught word that Santa was in town, so we headed over to see if we could catch a few words. He’s quite the popular man, by the way. We stood in line for about 2 hours. With four kids, that isn’t something you ever look forward to. Amazingly enough, they were all very well behaved and it wasn’t an issue!
All the little ones were able to get a couple minutes with Saint Nicholas. Alissa, whose been talking up a storm for weeks about what she would be telling Santa, actually never said a single word once she got to spend some time with him. All the others had no issues laying down their expectations, even Katie. Below are some pics that have been added to the 2008 Christmas album.

Alissa’s 3rd birthday party

Well, everyone gone home now, but it was a great time. Had a few friends come over and with only Alissa and Isaac up right now, it’s quieted down a bit. Leah and I are beat, for sure, but really enjoyed having everyone over. Most of this whole past week has been spent trying to get the flooring down and the house in shape for the party. Everything came together well though. I didn’t get all the floor down, but did get the important parts done.
I’ve uploaded all the pics from today to Alissa’s birthday album. Yeah I know, record time. It usually takes me about 3 months minimum to get things up to date.

Alissa turned 3 years old today. Growing up too quick, seriously. We had a few presents and an ice cream cone with candles, and she had a blast. This weekend we are having some friends come over for a get-together. I’ll had those pics to this album when they come. For now, here are some shots from today.
