The fact is that between running RubyTapas, appearing the Ruby Rogues podcast, writing books, and various other commitments I haven’t had time to keep up the Wide Teams podcast.

In the years since I kicked off this show, running around interviewing people at RailsConf with a cheap mic and a silly hat, the landscape of distributed work has changed a lot. It’s far more common now to see technology jobs listed as “local or remote”. Popular books have been written about the distributed work revolution. And more and more, the technologists I talk to are familiar with the tools and practices of remote collaboration. I like to think that this podcast played a tiny role in promoting and facilitating this “new normal”.

Does the Wide Teams podcast still have a role to play, now that remote collaboration is more commonplace in modern work? I honestly don’t know. And that’s where you come in: I’d like to hear from you, the listeners, about what (if anything) you’d like to see from this site in the future. Realistically speaking, I don’t think I’ll have the time to play as big a role as I used to in future Wide Teams content. But if you’d like more shows, more articles, more tool reviews, etc. then I’d be happy to try and find a replacement to shepherd Wide Teams into a new chapter.
