(WIDK By Jane Rouen) – Two thieves were arrested for a 15-year-old killing boy for an iPad.

Jacob Dismont, 21 and Michael Solid, 18 have been charged with killing  Marco Arenas, 15, of Las Vegas,  when the teenager refused to let go of the iPad the two men were attempting to steal, and got dragged under the wheels of their SUV.

The iPad was a birthday gift from his father, and he had owned the device for about 2 months.

According to The Las Vegas Sun, a car wash was held in by the community as a show of support for the Arenas family which has nine other children; It raised almost $400.

Dismont and Solid have been charged with open murder, robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) - A pair of car thieves could not figure out why the police were following them — until they realized they had called the police themselves.

In Fresno, California, a pair of 20-year old car thieves, Nathan Teklemariam and Carson Rinehart, discussed breaking into cars and smoking pot over an open “butt-dialed”  phone line — that had been answered by an alert emergency phone operator who pieced together where the two men were and sent a squad car after them. 

The police pulled over their car and found stolen merchandise in the car and explained to the two unlucky thieves how they had been tracked.

According to Death and Taxes Magazine, the men had stoeln little more than a bottle hydrocodone.

The two men have been charged with one count each of burglary, conspiracy to commit a crime and possession of stolen property,

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) – Despite her fear of cancer, a 30-year old mother uses tanning beds every day even though she admits she would never want her children to use them.

Sarah Willman, a 30-year old mother of two who wants “the Barbie look” admits she is addicted to the tanning beds she has used since she was 14-years old and sneaks out of the house to use them even though she is afraid of getting cancer.

Willman, nicknamed “Malibu Barbie” at beauty school, gets jittery if she is unable to get in at least 20 to 40 minutes every day at her local salon.

According to Daily Mail, she then puts bronzer on over her tan because she never feels she is tan enough and because there are places that can never be tanned.

Aware that the tanning salons have been associated with skin cancer, she hopes that her children never use the tanning beds.

(WIDK By Jane Rouen) – The parents of a 15-year-old girl pressed charges against her 18-year old girlfriend, claiming she made their daughter gay.

18-year old Kaitlyn Hunt of Sebastian, Florida has been expelled from school and charged with two felony counts of “lewd and lascivious battery on a child 12 to 16″ after the parents of her girlfriend pressed charges  – even though the 15-year old admits the lesbian relationship was consensual — and started when both girls were under age.

Kaitlyn was taken out of her home in handcuffs and her mug shot appears online.

She was then offered a plea deal –  she must plead guilty to child abuse, a felony,which would require her to spend two years under house arrest, and a judge could then require her to register as a sex offender.

According to Think Progress, a judge denied the 15-year old girl’s parents petition to have Kaitlyn expelled from school just weeks before her high school graduation, but the school board was then petitioned by the parents and agreed to place Kaitlyn in another school.

More than 40,000 people have signed a petition to have the judge drop the case.

 (WIDK By Jane Rouen) – A woman in a convenience store offered to give her baby up for free.

A couple in a Phoenix, Arizona convenience store told the clerk that a woman, Rozenna Luna, 36, had tried to give away her 6-month old baby girl, Elena.

Police were called to the scene and when they arrived at the store the woman was drunk and told them she had smoked meth-amphetamines two days earlier.

According to Perth Now, Luna had also called the police, knowing that if she were taken into custody she would not have to care for the child.

The child was placed in Child Protective Services, but the woman’s ex-husband states that he wants to get the child back.

(WIDK) By Jane Rouen) – A desperate Chinese woman tries to kill her own child in order to be with her jailed husband  – even though authorities had already told her they would not be jailed together.

Ou Mou, a 20-year old Chinese woman from Sishuan Province, was so desperate to see her jailed husband that she nearly suffocated her own 1-year old son, Zhang Yuxuan, and showed police a video clip of the crime she had filmed on her phone.

She then led the police back to her home to show them her unconscious son.

According to Daily Mail, the husband was already in jail for stealing power lines and regulations prohibited Ou Mou from seeing him.

The child was place in his grandparents’ custody after he was released from the hospital.

(WIDK By Rebecca Arden) – She wanted fries with that Big Mac, not a piece of glass! 

Jacqueline Simpson, 52, is suing a McDonald’s alleging that her voice was altered after she swallowed a piece of glass that was in her chicken sandwich in May of 2010. 

According to the N.Y. Post, Simpson is a Law Department Document specialist with the Attorney General’s office but sings gospel on the side.

She is claiming that ever since she swallowed that piece of glass, “bigger than a penny”, her singing voice has been significantly different.

Simpson states that while she can still sing alto, or lower ranges, she now has trouble singing soprano, or the higher ranges.

She also complains that she has to make many phone calls for work and constantly has to explain to people that she is not a man.
