Life is a mirror and if you can think deeply enough to get to the place where the reflection is apparent, you will see this clearly.

With that thought in mind I have to tell you a story about an advertising agency who approached me and wanted to put a link on this blog.

They told me that their client was a perfect match for WifeMentor.com.

They wanted to either put a banner of their choice here, or I could write a blog post and put a link back to them.

They said they would offer me a nice amount of money for keeping said link on the site for at least a year.

We went round and around for weeks, trying to finalize this deal. Most of the holdup had to do with me resisting the whole thing.

They even raised the amount of money they would pay because their client wanted that link.

This agency was rather relentless, and I admired the agent's tenacity. She wasn't giving up. She was a role model for all sales people.

She was dealing with a stubborn person though. I immediately said NO! when I found out who the client was.

I was hesitant because of the name of the website.

It made no sense to me that this website wanted to link to mine.

It appeared to me that this type of website would do the opposite of what I was trying to achieve, which was to help women DE-STRESS.

The agent kept pursuing me and assured me that their client's needs matched mine. She said they were in the business of relaxing women too and that is why they picked my site.

I still resisted.

The agent encouraged me to look at her client's website… so I finally did.

I realized that I needed to take a closer look at that which I judged so harshly and was refusing to connect with.

Seconds after typing in the URL, there it was.

I was staring at all that purple and thinking, "This is the first paid ad/link I am going to allow on my site? I just can't do it!"

I kept staring at the site and trying to see the good in all of it.

I then clicked on the winners section and found this testimonial:

"I was in shock for the first half hour…lol! I kept staring at my bingo balance to see if I was dreaming. I love Foxy Bingo, it keeps me from going nuts when the kids are doing my head in and my hubby is on nights!. Good luck all! Your turn next!"

This woman won money playing the UK's largest online bingo game, "Foxy Bingo".

I know what you are thinking! I am still thinking it…

But if this website made ONE woman happy, and kept her from going out of her mind, it is a good thing in my book.

After reading that testimonial I melted a little bit because the woman looked so happy in her picture. She had a big pretty smile.

It reminded me of my intense prayer months ago asking God to help me to help other women smile.

Cornball I know, but that is what I wanted to spend the rest of my life doing. And there was a woman right there in front of me, smiling.

So what does this have to do with the mirror I spoke of in the first sentence?

Just like I snubbed my nose up at Foxy Bingo in the beginning, so too have countless companies snubbed their nose up at Tooth Soap® when I approached them throughout the years.

Those companies don't know how many smiles I encourage with my product and I didn't know how many smiles Foxy Bingo was bringing to their clientele.

I have been an ad "snob" since 1998. I don't run ads on my site and have refused countless over the years.

I said NO initially to Foxy Bingo because it didn't fit the mold of what I wanted to present to the world. I felt it was too far from my site. It wasn't my style.

Step out of comfort zone now! said my stubborn head. Maybe you will break through something here.

So I decided to say yes to Foxy Bingo. And this post is dedicated to them because they helped me realize what was in the mirror.

Indeed, life is a like a mirror.
