PaperIllusion (TM) by Village has been discontinued since 2010, but there is still a limited amount of stock available on a few patterns at WallpaperIllusions.com.

This paper has had a cult-like following for at least two decades, since it first appeared on the QVC Home Shopping Network.

After years of being made available in locally-owned wallpaper stores and larger home improvement chain stores across America, my husband and I discovered the beauty, ease and durability of the product and decided to launch our own website featuring this product line in 2005.

Shortly thereafter we began a discussion forum and blog to showcase all that can be done with PaperIllusion, called Paper It Fun! We absolutely loved this product!

Over the years it went through some major changes, and we continued to champion the benefits of this unique product, but in time, the company that held the licensing decided to discontinue manufacturing it.

Presently, this paper still has a devoted following, and our hope is that it will become available again in the future. But for now, whatever stock we have in our warehouse is all we have to offer.

If you’ve never tried this product before, I highly recommend it. You can learn more about it at Wallpaper Illusions.

The pattern with the most stock available is Script Cobalt Blue, so if this color/design appeals to you, go ahead and snatch it up. (You may want to get extra, to have on hand for future repairs if necessary.)

The next readily available color is Hearthstone Bubble Gum.

After that, there is a moderate amount of Hearthstone Aquamarine and Hearthstone Ocean.

The color/designs with the least amount of stock available are Script Harvest Gold and Hearthstone Camoflage.

There is a newer version of PaperIllusion (TM) that came out under the design name Imperial, packaged in smaller rolls, but that line was discontinued in 2015, and we don’t have any of that stock available at this time.

However, as a convenience to customers who have used either versions of this product before and may need smaller pieces to repair a previous project, samples of mostly every pattern are still available in varying sizes.

These can also be obtained at Wallpaper Illusions. So, if you’re looking to do a project in this unique, easy and fun wallcovering option, or are in need of any remnants of this easy faux finish wallpaper, that’s the place to go.

Introducing “Paper It Fun!” – the blog!

The idea came to me a few weeks ago, when I was trying to come up with an alternative to the discussion forum I started several years ago that was being eaten away with SPAM. I wanted to have a place where I could post projects and articles about this product in an easy-to-read (& write) format…and give people the opportunity to comment on them as well.

So, as of this afternoon, the blog is live and ready to share with fellow PaperIllusion enthusiasts. I tried to find a “fun” design, and this is what I came up with. I’m excited about the launch and hope to make a difference in spreading the word about this incredible product. So check out, Paper It Fun! – the Blog.

Our contact information has been updated.

Working from home has it’s pros and cons. While it’s nice to roll out of bed and walk across the hall to my office, getting interrupted at dinner time with streams of phone calls from customers is not so pleasant. So, we’ve implemented a few changes.

First, a new address. We now have a Post Office Box to handle all incoming payments and correspondence related to our business. This was implemented for two reasons:

To keep business correspondence safe and secure. Sometimes other members of the household would bring in the mail and pick out what’s important to them and the rest of it would be displaced for a day or two. While this may not be that big of a deal if it’s just “junk mail”, it really matters when it’s an important business document or a customer’s payment.

To protect our family from unexpected visitors. While we operate a business out of our home, we do not have a showroom freely accessible to the public at this time, so I’ve found there is really no reason to publish a physical address.

The second change was a new phone number. We now have a second line which handles all calls related to our business exclusively. This was implemented for the following reasons:

Keep business calls separate from personal calls. We have a pre-teen in the house and when he’s off from school, there seems to be a flood of phone calls for him. This was interfering with our business. So instead of getting him a second line of his own, we opted for a business line for us. Also, the business phone only rings in our offices, so I don’t have to worry about our 3-year old answering it, thinking it’s Grandma, when it was a customer (which has happened a few times before).

Eliminate personal interruptions. While we clearly post our business hours on our website, we were still getting phone calls after hours. An occasional call here and there would not be so bad, but we have a sacred dinner hour where we actually sit down as a family for dinner each night and that time was consistently being sabotaged.

Have a record of missed calls. We are probably the only people on the planet who do not have voice mail or an answering machine on our phone. We do have Caller ID so when a personal call comes in, we can usually figure out who has called when we have been out, but it’s impossible to tell anything when it was a number we don’t recognize. So, we now have an answering machine dedicated to the business line to handle any calls that come in after hours or when we are unable to take the call at the time it comes in.

We’ve posted the updated address at our Help Desk, but you’ll find the phone number is not posted there. This was done on purpose. We actually keep wacky hours…oftentimes working late into the night (i.e. 2:00 AM). We have a very active family life and my husband and I juggle back and forth as to who’s working when, so we prefer to deal with customer service via email. This way we can respond to a customer’s request at 2:00 AM if needed. Also, this enables us to CC (carbon copy) one another when necessary so we can both be on the same page about a situation, rather than trying to relay a phone conversation.

However, we understand the need for a customer to get in touch with us personally, so we publish our phone number on every purchase receipt.

Since we do not use the phone as a primary source for communication, we take email communication very seriously. We make every attempt to answer emails within 1-2 business days, so if you don’t receive an answer, please contact us again. It’s possible it was missed or misdirected by mistake.

Where did we come up with the name “WiggleWigal”?

Well, before I married my husband, I had a simple last name. I never had to pronounce, repeat or spell it out to anyone.

My husband, on the other hand, has a more unusual name. He is a “Wigal” and for some reason, when he was growing up, everyone pronounced his name as “Wiggle”. I thought that was strange because it seemed obvious to me that phonetically it should be a long “i” sound since there was only one “g” in the name.

Shortly after we married I experienced the phenomenon for myself…the hesitation when people came to read the name aloud…”wig-al” was fairly common, and so was “why-jull”, but lo and behold, “wiggle” was used more times than not…and often times without hesitation!

So when the time came for us to come up with a name for our business (encompassing many niches), I took a hankering to my husband’s old eBay userid, “wigglewigal”. It was generic, memorable and usually got a chuckle. So, we made it official…our company’s legal name is “WiggleWigal LC”.

When life hands you a lemon of a lastname, embrace it…sweeten it up and make yourself some lemonade! …By the way, “Wigal” is pronounced “why-gull” (hard “g”), but we’ve come to answer to most anything.
