First practice is Wednesday August 11, 2010; first week schedule as follows:

• Wednesday August 11, 2010 10-noon at Discovery Middle School
• Thursday August 12, 2010 10-noon at Discovery Middle School
• Friday August 13, 2010 10-noon at Plymouth High School court

The Plymouth High School Boys Tennis Team camp will be held Monday, August 16, 2009 to Friday, August 20, 2010 from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Huron Valley Tennis Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Directions and map to Huron Valley Tennis Club.

Cost for camp is $132/week. For players who aren’t able to play the entire week, Huron Valley offers a daily rate, if you make
arrangements at the beginning of the week. For more info, contact Huron Valley at: 734.662.5514. Players not attending camp must play at least two hours each day on their own.

Physicals:

Physicals are mandatory and are required to be dated after April 15, 2010; these must be turned in on August 11. No player is allowed to play without this physical on file on the first day of practice.

Match schedule is being finalized and can be viewed at HighSchoolSports.

Coach Kimball will provide a packet of additional forms and information at the first practice on August 11.

With sunny skies and temperatures in the 50’s, it was the best weather in the past three years of installing benches. Great way to finish the project! Thanks to Salem Coach Lin Ware for coordinating the Park tennis court bench project for the past several years.

Post your condolences and read more about Mrs. North in her obituary. Funeral services will be held at First Congregational Church in Ann Arbor, on State Street on Tuesday, October 27 at 11:00AM.

For those interested in volunteering, please bring tools/supplies (bucket, shovel, ratchet, tape measure, and scissors). Each team is responsible for bringing 4 bags of Quikrete cement. One family is bringing a postdigger.

Meet at the concession stand at 1:00pm and look for Salem Coach Lin Ware who will be coordinating the work. See you there and thanks for your help!

Get together with your fellow teammates for basketball, swimming, and other fun activities. If you are not a member of the Summit, the cost is $5.00 per person. Showers are available for cleaning up before the banquet.

The shift is three hours from 10am to 1pm. Thanks to Mrs. Belanger and Mrs. Halpin for volunteering on Friday, October 16. We need two parents and two students to step forward and volunteer. I need to send our schedule to Coach Lin Ware by Wednesday, October 14th.

It’s a great opportunity to give back to the team, our team shares in the concession profits, and see some fantastic tennis. Coach Kimball’s son on the Dexter team will be playing in the state tournament as well as top 10 Southeast Michigan ranked boys age 16 and under players.

The big news of the day was #1 singles player Aaron Zhang making it to the finals for regionals.

Aaron qualifies to attend the Division 1 state tournament in Midland, Michigan that begins Friday, October 16. He’s the first Plymouth High School player to qualify for the state championship.

Way to go team! Good luck Aaron at the state championships later this week.
