The Nets will have a black and white color scheme, paying tribute to the old New York subway signage system.

The Brooklyn Nets will have a pair of primary logos. The first will feature a shield and the name “NETS” accompanied by the letter “B” inside a basketball and “BROOKLYN” underneath.

The second new logo features the letter “B” inside a basketball wrapped around “BROOKLYN NEW YORK.”

“Hello Brooklyn! I’ve been waiting a long time to say that,” center Brook Lopez said at the logo unveiling at the Modell’s Sporting Goods store across the street from Barclays Center, the team’s new home.

The Nets will move into the $1 billion arena at the start of the 2012-13 season.

“We’ve been waiting a long time for this,” CEO Brett Yormark said. “The Brooklyn Nets are finally part of the conversation.”

Yormark said that the Nets’ circular logo will be featured at center court at the Barclays Center. Yormark referred to the shield as “the shield of Brooklyn,” and it will appear on the team’s shorts.

Team part owner Jay-Z reportedly played a key role in the design of the new logos.

“The Brooklyn Nets logos are another step we’ve made to usher the organization into a new era,” Jay-Z said in a statement. “The boldness of the designs demonstrate the confidence we have in our new direction. Along with our move to Brooklyn and a state-of-the-art arena, the new colors and logos are examples of our commitment to update and refine all aspects of the team.”

Jay-Z and Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov, the team’s majority owner, were not in attendance.

Rondo passionately argued a foul call against teammate Brandon Bass with 41 seconds left in the game and the Celtics down by 4 points, an action that resulted in a technical foul.

As Davis was walking away, Rondo went after him to hammer home his point and bumped his chest against him. Rondo was immediately ejected.

This morning, NBA commissioner David Stern wouldn’t comment on how the league might be inclined to discipline Rondo, but made it clear how he felt about the situation.

“I don’t want to pre-judge on what the recommendation is going to be,” Stern said on ESPN Radio‘s The Herd with Colin Cowherd. “But as a fan, he obviously bumped him. And you know what happens with respect to that.”

Yes, we sure do.

The NBA rulebook clearly states, “Any player or coach guilty of intentional physical contact with an official shall automatically be suspended without pay for one game. A fine and/or longer period of suspension will result if circumstances so dictate.”

There have been three different instances so far this season where a player or coach has been suspended for one game for bumping into a referee.

“We have a hard and fast rule,” Stern said. “Unless somebody trips you and sends you into him, nobody touches a referee. That’s the proposition.”

Rose, who has had a litany of injuries all season long, had to be helped off the basketball court after scoring 23 points with nine rebounds and nine assists.

You could feel the air leave the building when Rose, who led all scorers, was assisted off in what became a 103-91 win for the Bulls.

Many are wondering why Rose was still in the game, as the Bulls were up by 12 with just over a minute left to play.

“Yeah, I don’t work backwards like you guys do. The score was going the other way,” Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said.

“It’s part of the game. There are going to be injuries. … You can get hurt any time. You’ve got to deal with it. He’s had a lot of injuries this year, it’s unfortunate. But we’ll deal with it.”

76ers coach Doug Collins said the injury was “awful.”

“When I play teams I want to beat them at their best. I hope the kid comes back,” Collins said.

In a postgame report, TNT’s Cheryl Miller said: “I’ve never been in a packed arena where the top player went down, and the arena went silent. It was eerie.”

Missing the post-season isn’t the worst part. Rose is all but guaranteed to be out for the Summer Olympics too.

He was whisked Chicago’s Rush Hospital where his brother said Rose got an MRI.

Sorry, Bulls fans. This certainly isn’t your day.  Go ahead and use this. Maybe it will help.
