Our residents here at Willeo Creek Apartments love taking fitness classes in Roswell and around our community. Summer is a great time to work hard to stay in shape and Roswell has just what you need, no matter how old you are!

For $10, Core Matters will be giving mat Pilates classes for every level of experience. Mark your calendars for Fridays, June 1 and June 8 at 11 am. Introduce yourself to Pilates and if you enjoy the classes, go again and again each Friday!

Pilates is a lot like yoga in that it builds strong lean muscles and core strength. Enjoy increased flexibility when beginning a Pilates hobby. If you are new to pilates, stop in and see what it’s all about! Bring a friend to a Friday class and make new friends who want to make fitness a priority in their lives.

Local Dog Parks: Leita Thompson Memorial Park

Residents at Willeo Creek Apartments love going outdoors with their pets for a walk, jog, or play date with other dogs! Roswell and the surrounding areas have numerous dog parks that allow you and your pet to run leash-less. Remember to bring baggies for waste and water for your pooch, too!

The Leita Thompson Memorial Park is just four miles from our community in Roswell and has everything for your family and furry friends to have fun! There is a nice gazebo, rose garden, dog park, and more! Bring your leash so you and your dog can walk the trails and make new friends.

Enjoy the sun in Roswell this spring and summer with your pet. Get some exercise and enjoy nature without having to travel all the way to North Georgia or pay to see outdoor exhibits and gardens. Your pet will thank you for the field trip!

Roswell Schools are Top Notch

The children of residents here at Willeo Creek Apartments go to some of the best schools in the county. No matter their age, potential residents can be sure that their child will be getting the best education in Georgia. Summer is almost here and school is almost out! What plans do you have for summer? What is your child looking forward to the most?

Below are A few fun facts about our local elementary, middle, and high schools. Our community has access to top ranked magnet schools in the area, like Riverwood High, ranked within the top 5 in the state!

Roswell North Elementary- Their Environmental Club was named the Best in Fulton County! Their PTA Association is very active and hands on within the school and the school has won the Golden Apple Award for 15 consecutive years.

Crabapple Middle School- In 1988, the school was one of the first in Fulton County to take the title of a National School of Excellence and Georgia School of Excellence. In 2003, Crabapple was named a Lighthouse School to Watch for middle elvel education. They incorporate block scheduling to accomodate various learning and teaching styles.

Roswell High School- The school has been consistent in being recognized for academic excellence. They have more than 20 Advanced Placement courses offered and has one of the highest AP ratings in the nation. Roswell High also enjoys close ties with the community. They are a Georgia School of Excellence, as well.

Kids Are Eager for Spraygrounds in Roswell!

There are plenty of great parks and other outdoor venues for kids and families to run around, play, and enjoy the sunny weather here in Roswell! Willeo Creek apartments are just minutes away from ‘spraygrounds‘, water feature playgrounds, in Roswell!

Memorial Day weekend will have kids splashing in the sun when the spraygrounds open! Along with many fountain-like water features and shallow wading areas, both spraygrounds feature concession stands and a rental pavilion, perfect for birthday parties or other events.

The locations of Roswell’s spraygrounds are on Riverside Road and Fouts Road. Purchase daily passes or monthly passes that are good for both parks. Family passes will make it a great summer! There is also the option of adding a Roswell Area Park Pool pass, too!

Adults not getting in the water with their children are free! There’s nothing like combining the fun of a playground and park with water and pool games.

Travel to Piedmont Park for the Atlanta Jazz Festival

There is always a fun activity or two to participate in near Willeo Creek Apartments. May 26 through the 28 will see the Atlanta Jazz Festival! Just a short drive from Roswell, Piedmont Park will be hosting a number of live jazz musicians over Memorial Day weekend. This is a great cultural event for every age!

Bring a date or your friends to Piedmont Park and enjoy a fun night of jazz music under the stars. Memorial Day weekend is not just about honoring the strength and courage of the United States military, but about welcoming summer to Atlanta.

31 Days of Jazz is going on right now in the city! Every day in May, jazz musicians will be playing in various locations throughout Atlanta. If you are new to the area, introduce yourself to new places to eat, drink, and listen to live jazz.

Stay Cool This Summer in Roswell

There isn’t much difference between spring and summer weather here in Roswell and Atlanta. The pollen seems to have died down for the most part around here at Willeo Creek Apartments, but the temperature is getting higher and higher. Below are a few tips on how to stay cool when you are far from air conditioning. try them at outdoor festivals, concerts, or anywhere else.

Turn your hat around or put a cold wet wash cloth on the back of your neck to cool you off. The neck is the area that regulates body temperature.
run your wrists under cool water for 10 seconds each. This will drop your body temperature for about an hour.
soak and wring out a t shirt and put it on to cool you down while you’re outside.
Soak your feet in a bucket of cold water. Your feet and hands radiate heat and cooling them off is a great way to cool the rest of your body.

Here at Willeo Creek Apartments we enjoy seeing our residents keep in shape at our state of the art fitness center. Keeping fit and healthy is important in Roswell and everywhere in America. Spring and summer are popular seasons to see people walking, running, jogging, and lifting weights.

Some get bored with the same kind of workout. Why not explore Roswell and Atlanta to find an extracurricular sport that will keep you entertained and fit? There are plenty around, including the kickboxing classes below, jiu jitsu, and even fencing! Find something that you haven’t done before, learning is fun!

Saving money and buying organic doesn’t have to be hard on the wallet. Here in Roswell, minutes from Willeo Creek Apartments, there are a few great organic grocers. One great and affordable organic grocer is Fresh Market, on Roswell Road.

Enjoy fresh produce, flowers, and great kitchen decor and tools. There are cooking demonstrations and floral arrangement classes for viewers, too! Log on to see what monthly events are coming to Fresh Market.

Hand select your meats and seafood and enjoy a cup of fresh coffee or other drink while you peruse the aisles. The open air feel to the market allows for your eyes to see and your nose to smell all of the awesome colors and unique scents the market has to offer. Their staff is super helpful and eager to assist you in finding just what you need!

Yoga is a popular hobby that many practice in order to relax both body and mind. In Atlanta and Roswell, there are many places to take yoga classes. The local YMCA has yoga classes and there are many private yoga studios near Willeo Creek Apartments.

The Peachtree Yoga Center, on Sandy Springs Circle, is a great place to heal your body and calm the mind. Take a beginner class or, if you have been practicing for a while, take an advanced class with friends. If you already practice yoga, what do you like most about it? How does it enrich your life?

There are many grocery stores and supermarkets in and around Roswell and Willeo Creek Apartments. We’ve posted on a few farmers markets around town, but many want the comfort of familiar brands and more products.

Trader Joes, in Sandy Springs is a great grocery store that serves organic and other kinds of foods. Shop more of a variety and enjoy low prices! Find just what you need for dinner this weekend.
