Patent Call is Critical Step to Create Fair and Transparent IPR Licensing
Structure
to Drive Global 4G Adoption

Via Licensing Corporation Selected as Patent Pool Administrator

SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 22, 2009 - The Open Patent Alliance (OPA), a
group dedicated to offering intellectual property rights (IPR) solutions that
support the development and widespread adoption of WiMAX, today announced a call
for patents, with the intention of creating a patent pool of essential WiMAX
patents. The OPA has selected Via Licensing Corporation to facilitate the
formation and administration of the pool on behalf of the OPA.

A WiMAX patent pool can enable companies of all sizes to access needed patent
licenses in a simple and cost-effective manner. Establishing this pool is an
important part of the OPA's plans to create a fair and transparent IPR licensing
structure with reasonable royalty rates. By lowering the "barriers to entry" for
companies wishing to develop innovative products & services, the patent pool
will accelerate the global adoption of WiMAX, simultaneously driving innovation,
fostering broader choice and lowering costs for WiMAX technology, devices and
applications.

"Today's patent call is a major milestone in our quest to create an innovative
and truly open WiMAX ecosystem," said OPA President Yung Hahn. "Through the
patent pool approach, not only will the OPA be able to drive down the costs of
adopting WiMAX, we will be able to create a more predictable cost structure that
can be accessed by infrastructure vendors, device manufacturers and application
developers worldwide."

WiMAX, a 4G IP-based wireless broadband technology based on the IEEE 802.16e
specification, provides low-cost, multi-megabit speeds and greater throughput
for the mobile Internet era of video-rich content and bandwidth-intensive
applications.

OPA members include Acer, Alcatel-Lucent, Alvarion, Cisco, Clearwire, Huawei
Technologies, Intel Corporation, and Samsung Electronics, as well as newly
announced associate members Beceem, GCT Semiconductor, Sequans, and UQ
Communications, underscoring broad 4G ecosystem support - from semiconductors to
consumer devices to service providers.

A WiMAX patent pool will help ensure product differentiation and
interoperability at a more predictable cost through a more competitive royalty
structure. This is critical to the long-term success and broad adoption of WiMAX,
enabling a wider array of devices from the smart phones, consumer electronics
and PC industries to more quickly integrate wireless broadband into their
products.

An independent third-party reviewer or "patent evaluator" will evaluate
submitted patents to determine whether or not they are essential. Any entity
that believes it has patents or pending patent applications that are essential
to WiMAX is invited to contact Via Licensing to receive information about how to
submit patents for essentiality review by the independent patent evaluator.

Parties interested in discussing the opportunity to participate in a WiMAX
patent licensing program can contact Via Licensing at
wimax@vialicensing.com. For complete
submission information, interested parties can also email
submissions@vialicensing.com.
Interested parties can also visit the OPA Web site at

www.openpatentalliance.com/patent-submission.

While the OPA will initially focus its efforts on the WiMAX standard, it may
work with other industry groups in the future.

About the Open Patent Alliance

Members of the WiMAX ecosystem formed the OPA in June 2008. Current OPA members
include Acer, Alcatel-Lucent, Alvarion, Cisco, Clearwire, Huawei Technologies,
Intel Corporation, and Samsung Electronics, as well as newly -announced
associate members Beceem, GCT Semiconductor, Sequans, and UQ Communications. The
diversity of member companies demonstrates broad support throughout the entire
4G ecosystem - from semiconductor makers, to consumer device manufacturers, to
network equipment companies, to service providers. The OPA's primary goal is to
foster a global ecosystem focused on broader choice, competitive equipment and
service costs for WiMAX technology, devices and applications. More information

ATLANTA - June 16, 2009 - Clearwire Communications, LLC, an operating
subsidiary of Clearwire Corporation, (NASDAQ: CLWR), today officially
transformed Atlanta into the fastest unwired city in the South. The city is now
home to the largest 4G WiMAX wireless broadband network in the United States
with CLEAR? service available to nearly three million people across
approximately 1,200 square miles. With CLEAR, consumers and businesses can
access the Internet wirelessly, at true broadband speeds - at home, in the
office, and on the go.

"By delivering broadband connectivity to people, and not just places, we now
offer Atlantans the freedom to enjoy super-fast Internet access wherever they go
in our coverage area," said Marc Brachman, General Manager of Atlanta market for
Clearwire. "Whether it's a busy parent who wants full Internet connectivity in
the back of the family minivan, a small business owner looking to conduct online
video chats with customers from the field, a person looking to access
entertainment sites like Hulu without being tied to a fixed-location, or a
college student simply looking for one Internet service provider to meet their
needs at home and on-the-go, CLEAR delivers.
We're providing a valuable, new kind of Internet service designed to make our
customers' lives more enjoyable and more productive, wherever they happen to be
in our coverage area."

A CLEAR Difference

Unlike other wireless services, CLEAR delivers a mobile broadband Internet
experience on par with speeds typically experienced only on fixed residential
and commercial connections, like DSL. For example, some of today's 3G wireless
networks typically deliver download speeds of between 1.0 and 1.7 Mbps. CLEAR
customers, however, can expect to see download speeds of 4 to 6 Mbps with bursts
exceeding 15 Mbps, far surpassing even the peak theoretical speeds of 7.2 Mbps
in upcoming 3G upgrades. In Atlanta, the CLEAR network utilizes an area-wide
WiMAX radio system from Motorola.

CLEAR's simple and innovative pricing gives customers ultimate flexibility.
CLEAR's mobile and residential plans can be purchased by the day or by the
month, and do not require long-term service contracts. Home Internet service
plans start at $20 per month, while mobile Internet plans start at $40 per
month, or customers can purchase a convenient day pass for $10. Additional
savings are available for customers purchasing both home and mobile Internet
services or signing up for a two-year service agreement. Full details about
pricing options and business plans are available at
www.clear.com.

Simply Plug-In and Go

CLEAR offers several simple choices for broadband connectivity.

- USB modem: Mobile users simply plug-in CLEAR's compact, mobile WiMAX-enabled
USB modem into their laptop to get online. The USB modem, from Motorola, is
available for only $59.99 or leased for just $4.99 per month.
Customers can purchase the modem from a store or online.

- Residential modem & services: For residential service, CLEAR offers customers
a wireless high-speed modem, about the size of a small book.
Customers simply plug the modem into a power outlet anywhere in their home or
office and connect the modem to their PC or wireless router. This enables
consumers and businesses to install high-speed Internet service without the need
to schedule an appointment, drill holes in their walls, or otherwise disrupt
their day. The CLEAR residential modem, from Motorola, can be purchased for
$79.99 or leased for just $4.99 monthly. Residential customers can also add
in-home voice service with purchase of the CLEAR Voice Adapter for $15, and
receive unlimited local and long distance service for just $24.99 per month.

- CLEAR Spot: With the CLEAR Spot, any existing, off-the-shelf Wi-Fi device
(compatible with 802.11b/g) can connect to CLEAR's mobile WiMAX network. The
CLEAR Spot creates a personal Wi-Fi hotspot that travels with consumers anywhere
they happen to be within CLEAR's mobile WiMAX service area. This
$139 device is a portable, battery-powered router that seamlessly connects up to
eight standard Wi-Fi-enabled devices (computers, mobile phones, portable gaming,
consoles, cameras, etc.) to the Internet via a CLEAR USB modem to access CLEAR's
mobile WiMAX network.

- Intel Embedded WiMAX Laptops: Numerous CLEAR-compatible embedded WiMAX laptops
based on Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology are now available directly from
their manufacturers and through other channels. From Dell, these include the
Studio 17, Studio XPS 16, Latitude E4300, Latitude E6400, Latitude E6400 ATG,
Latitude E6500, Precision M2400, and Precision M4400.
From Fujitsu, this includes the LifeBook P8020. WiMAX-ready laptops from Lenovo
include the ThinkPad line: SL400, SL500, X200, X200s, X200 Tablet, X301, T400,
T500, W500, W700. From Samsung, this includes the X460 notebook as well as the

available in the U.S. From Toshiba, consumers can order the Portégé® R600-ST520W
and Satellite® U405-S2920.

- Coming Soon: Panasonic has announced plans to deliver this year a Toughbook®
computer with embedded WiMAX based on Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology,
and compatible with the CLEAR network. A dual-mode, 3G/4G, modem is coming this
summer, which will provide CLEAR customers access to Sprint's nationwide 3G
network, and consumers will also soon be able to order the Samsung Mondi?,
mobile WiMAX enabled handheld device.

Customers can purchase the service online at www.clear.com, or by visiting
numerous retail locations throughout metro Atlanta including: the CLEAR store at
55 Peachtree Street, Cumberland Mall, North Point Mall, or Lennox Square; any of
11 Best Buys or 29 RadioShack stores; or other authorized CLEAR dealers.

Atlanta Launch Event and Community Outreach

Clearwire will also host a consumer launch event at Atlantic Station today, June
16, from 9:30am-3:00pm in The District section of Atlantic Station, located in
midtown Atlanta. The event is an opportunity for the public to experience
CLEAR's advantages firsthand through a series of mobile WiMAX demonstrations. In
addition, attendees will be treated to some unique visual displays of the
service including on a CLEAR-branded hot air balloon, and a glass-enclosed
living room on wheels. Attendees will also have opportunities to win prizes,
including CLEAR product discounts and other merchandise. In addition, CLEAR and
Intel will announce plans to provide dozens of embedded WiMAX laptops based on
Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology, as well as netbooks based on Intel®
Atom? processors, with CLEAR service to Atlanta Public Schools before the start
of the next school year.

"We look forward to today's launch event and making meaningful contributions to
the local community in the days and years ahead," continued, Brachman.
"We appreciate the support from Intel to make this donation of netbooks and
laptops possible, and know Atlanta Public Schools will benefit from this token
of mutual appreciation for the tireless service they provide to their students
and staff."

Jordan and Bahrain Operations Rely on BridgeWave?s Solutions for Broadband
Wireless Backhaul

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--BridgeWave Communications, the
leading supplier of gigabit wireless solutions, today announced that Kulacom has
deployed BridgeWave?s high-capacity links in their WiMAX network. Kulacom's
Jordan and Bahrain operations both depend on BridgeWave?s AdaptRate 80 GHz
product, AR80X, for a reliable carrier-class backhaul solution to provide
high-capacity WiMAX connectivity to support Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
and data services.

Kulacom, established in 2006, provides voice and Internet services to emerging
markets. Kulacom Jordan secured a 3.6 GHz frequency license in January 2008,
positioning the communications operator at the forefront of wireless next
generation technology. Their services include point-to-point IP connectivity,
VoIP and data hosting. Recently, the Jordan operation expanded its services to
include WiMAX Internet, providing uninterrupted, fast and reliable connections
to Kulacom customers.

Kulacom needed reliable backhaul to support their growing WiMAX broadband
network. A wireless solution was selected because the deployment is much faster
than fiber trenching and would better accommodate the rapid deployment schedule
Kulacom had in mind.

Once they put in a bid for the 3.6 GHz frequency license, Kulacom was tasked
with delivering wireless Internet connectivity on schedule. Kulacom researched
the leading wireless vendors and whittled down the selection to 12 companies.
After rigorous testing, BridgeWave?s technology proved to be the leader in
reliability and performance.

Kulacom immediately began the deployment, which connected base stations to the
core network providing end-users with seamless Internet connectivity. They
purchased multiple AR80X links for the Jordan location and several AR80X links
for the Bahrain location. Installations at both sites went smoothly while
requiring minimal maintenance. Since the installation, Kulacom has relied on
BridgeWave?s AR80X product to ensure a strong, reliable high-capacity WiMAX
backbone.

Despite the harsh climactic conditions of the region including severe heat, high
winds and heavy rainfall, the AR80X wireless links continue to perform
flawlessly. BridgeWave?s 80 GHz link performance and AdaptRate mode switching
provide reliable network connectivity regardless of inclement weather. During
moments of violent downpour, transmissions switch from GigE to 100 Mb/s data
rates, maintaining a highly available link. The technology ensures Kulacom
customers receive reliable service and allows Kulacom to maintain their service
level agreements (SLAs) with each customer.

Since BridgeWave?s links operate in the uncluttered 80 GHz band, BridgeWave's
backhaul solution accommodates their present data and will support future
applications as Kulacom continues to expand their presence in additional
markets.

?When determining which technology to use for backhaul, we debated between
trenching fiber and using a wireless solution. Especially in emerging markets,
where the infrastructure is weak, we discovered that gigabit wireless was the
ideal solution,? said Ian Heath, group chief operating officer at Kulacom. ?Not
only is BridgeWave's technology incredibly reliable, but it is very
cost-effective. BridgeWave?s products play a key role in our efforts to provide
WiMAX-based services to our customers.?

?Kulacom provides emerging markets with reliable, high-bandwidth WiMAX
connectivity,? said Paul Obsitnik, senior vice president of business development
at BridgeWave Communications. ?BridgeWave?s technology is appealing to Service
Providers like Kulacom looking for reliable high-capacity backhaul links
supporting WiMAX and next generation networks. We are pleased to help bring
WiMAX to Jordan, and we look forward to Kulacom?s future success.?

About BridgeWave Communications
Gigabit wireless connectivity solutions. The company's exclusive AdaptRate? and

12 June, 2009, Kuala Lumpur - Green Packet, a leading developer of Next
Generation Mobile Broadband and Networking Solutions, is fast establishing
itself as a preferred provider for convergent technologies in the WiMAX space.
This is demonstrated through a strong traction gathered during the recent WiMAX
Forum Global Congress 09 held in Amsterdam.

The two-day event in Amsterdam has garnered the Company potential tie-ups and
business opportunities with 32 operators and prospective partners from 25
countries with a funnel value estimated at more than USD 30 million. Close to
50% of the operators interested to partner with Green Packet in strategic
collaborations or commercially were from Europe, signifying that the Company has
establish a credible reputation in that region as a strong provider of WiMAX-related
products and services that contributes to successful commercial deployment of
WiMAX networks.

"The enthusiasm received and traction generated during the forum affirmed that
there is strong demand for our WiMAX-related products and services," said Mr.
Kelvin Lee, Senior General Manager of Green Packet. "We are very glad to receive
such a response, considering the huge potential presented by Europe which
accounts for approximately 30% of the total WiMAX global deployment. We stand
ready to serve the large majority of operators in Europe operating in the 3.5GHz
frequency band with our range of high performance WiMAX CPE catered to that
frequency," adds Lee.

According to Lee, operators were particularly interested in Green Packet's WiMAX

Nikkei Electronics Asia, June 2009 - WiMAX deployments cover more than
430 million point of presences (POP) worldwide, and are forecast to reach 800
million POPs by the end of 2010, according to WiMAX Forum's research. "WiMAX is
here now and is already generating revenues for customers," said Eric Starnes,
vice president of sales for Motorola's Home & Networks Mobility in Asia, at the
WiMAX Forum Congress Asia held in April in Singapore. "Today, WiMAX is being
widely adopted by both traditional ISPs to enter the wireless space, and new
entrants into the wireless market. LTE, on the other hand, has seen support from
large cellular operators since the 3GPP nature of the technology allows
operators to leverage on their investments in the back office, such as through
roaming agreements."

According to data from the WiMAX Forum, there were 468 WiMAX deployments in 139
countries as of March 2009. A year earlier, the number was almost half: only 260
deployments in 110 countries. The WiMAX Forum had certified a total of 82
products by the end of 2008, and expects to certify 180 new products in 2009.

In his presentation, "Strategies and Evolution on WiMAX CPE Development", Alex
Ke, senior manager of System Engineering Division at Accton Wireless Broadband
Corp, said: "WiMAX can deliver low-cost mobile wireless VoIP and mobile
broadband services to markets in emerging countries. This increasing demand for
mobile devices is fuelling the WiMAX market growth. WiMAX also provides
significant cost savings for operators/carriers, who can install fewer base
stations to compete against one another. This translates into market opportunity
for growing average revenue per user (ARPU) in future."

Motorola's Starnes noted: "WiMAX has evolved into a very successful business
model for operators in developing markets. We are seeing a lot of take-ups in
Southeast Asia in which WiMAX is capable of fulfilling the basic connectivity
requirements. We also have successes in developed markets such as the US."
Motorola provides WiMAX devices and infrastructure for the mobile Internet
service "Clear" launched earlier this year in Portland, the US.

Trial Services

Meanwhile, Malaysia will be the first country outside the US to have an
ecosystem that provides a converged mobile Internet service throughout the
country using YTL e-Solutions' Berhad (YTLE) WiMAX technology. Samsung
Electronics will be providing the WiMAX network solution including base
stations, end-to-end IP multimedia service solutions and a range of mobile
Internet devices. Under the supply contract, Samsung will also supply the WiMAX-enabled
handsets.

Samsung showcased its NC10 mini notebook with embedded WiMAX, which allows users
to access WiMAX without need for the cumbersome USB dongle. Also highlighted at
the Samsung booth was the U-RAS flexible base station, which has received
favorable responses from the market due to its separated design of the radio and
digital unit, making it most suitable for flexible mobile WiMAX network
deployment.

Huawei to Strengthen Effort

Having secured 41 commercial WiMAX 802.16e contracts worldwide, Huawei
Technologies claims that its new WiMAX solutions will enable operators to
maximize the usage of their existing network resources, and to operate WiMAX
network flexibly to achieve a 30% reduction in total cost of ownership (TCO).

Huawei has stepped up its efforts to strengthen the progress of the
interoperability tests with partners including chipset and terminal vendors. In
addition to its interoperability test (IOT) centers in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and
Beijing (newly opened), Huawei plans to open its next IOT lab

Sprint is offering business users a wireless data program that gives them 500MB
of monthly data for $39.99 a month.

Sprint is marketing the plan as a low-cost alternative for "moderate" data users
whose mobile device services are billed directly to their companies. Customers
who break past the 500MB monthly bandwidth cap will pay an extra five cents for
each additional megabyte of data consumed.

Sprint says the plan is available for all devices in its mobile broadband
portfolio, including Novatel's Wireless MiFi 2200 personal mobile hotspot. The
MiFi is a device that essentially takes 3G signals from HSPA or EV-DO networks
and converts them into Wi-Fi signals that can be used by any Wi-Fi capable
device. This way, users can connect their Wi-Fi enabled laptops to the Internet
anywhere they can get 3G signals. Sprint and Verizon are the only two major U.S.
carriers to offer MiFi on their networks.

Sprint is also marketing two other mobile data plans for business users: a 3G
connection plan that costs $59.99 per month and allows for 5GB of monthly data
usage; and a 3G-4G connection plan that costs $79.99 a month and gives users
access to Sprint's high-speed WiMAX services.

Sprint's WiMAX services are available only in Baltimore, Md. and Portland, Ore.
For 2009, Sprint plans to deploy services in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago,
Dallas, Fort Worth, Honolulu, Las Vegas, Philadelphia and Seattle. In 2010 the
company expects to launch WiMAX services in Boston, Houston, New York, San
Francisco and Washington, D.C.

UQ WiMAX Commercial Service Details Disclosed; WiMAX-Embedded
Laptops Introduced with Intel® Centrino® 2 Processor Technology.

TOKYO, June 8, 2009 - UQ Communications Inc. and Intel Corporation today
announced their extended collaboration to promote and expand "UQ WiMAX," the
commercially available WiMAX service from UQ Communications in Japan. Scheduled
to launch on July 1, UQ Communications will offer new services to meet the
diverse consumer demands for mobile Internet broadband use. Working closely with
OEMs, Intel is providing embedded WiMAX laptops based on Intel® Centrino® 2
processor technology to enable mobile WiMAX broadband Internet access. The two
companies will also work with PC vendors and MVNOs to deliver a range of
initiatives and promotional activities driving the adoption of WiMAX technology
and creating greater awareness for the global WiMAX ecosystem.

WiMAX is the only solution available today that is meeting the demand for the
mobile Internet. With WiMAX, users can enjoy rich, interactive content outdoors
and on the go as mobile broadband Internet access traditionally requires a fixed
broadband connection. Together, Intel and UQ are helping to enable wireless
Internet connectivity with WiMAX, forming alliances with a number of companies
in the industry and offering a range of new digital equipment and services
designed to enhance user experience.

As part of this new initiative, UQ Communications has unveiled a novel fee
structure that will make it easy for new users to subscribe. (Editors: Details
given in a separate news release.) Meanwhile, Intel will offer the Intel WiMAX/Wi-Fi
Link 5150, an embedded module supporting both wireless LAN and WiMAX, providing
flexible Internet connectivity and high-speed communications with WiMAX.
Toshiba, Panasonic and Onkyo have today unveiled notebook PCs which integrate
the module and Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology. The laptops, as well as
other products, are scheduled to debut next month in Japan.

Said Takashi Tanaka, president of UQ Communications: "We are glad to welcome
this major milestone. Working with Intel, we are on the road to full mobile
broadband access, and, remarkably, in just 18 months since UQ Communications
obtained a Mobile WiMAX license. A feature of Mobile WiMAX is that its
infrastructure is open, both to people who want to use WiMAX, and to businesses
that want to enter the WiMAX market. In collaboration with PC makers, MVNOs, and
various other industries, we will enable true mobile broadband access, with UQ
constructing a high-speed, advanced WiMAX network, while Intel enables WiMAX
modules to be built into all kinds of devices."

"Intel looks forward to the UQ Communications WiMAX service launch next month in
Japan," said Sean Maloney, executive vice president and chief sales and
marketing officer of Intel Corporation. "The next-generation wireless Internet
broadband from UQ will be one of the most advanced networks in the world,
further driving global adoption of WiMAX. Intel also welcomes today's
announcement that Intel® Centrino® 2 processor technology-based laptops with
embedded WiMAX will be introduced in the Japanese market, a huge leap forward in
the continued development and expansion of the global WiMAX ecosystem."

In addition to working with UQ on embedded technology, Intel Capital invested
$43 million in the company to help continue the nationwide expansion of WiMAX
service.

iMAT® antennas from SkyCross power the latest USB dongles from Tecom

TAIPEI, Taiwan-June 1, 2009-SkyCross, a global antenna solutions company,
is providing award-winning iMAT® antennas to TECOM Co., Ltd. (Tecom), a leading
manufacturer of telecommunications equipment, for its latest WiMAX USB dongles.
VMAX, a WiMAX operator and 2.5 GHz license holder in Taiwan, will offer the USB
dongles for its trial network in June and its full commercial launch in Q3 of
this year.

The WiMAX standard requires MIMO (multiple-input, multiple-output) operation,
which typically calls for multiple antennas. However, today's small mobile
devices do not provide the additional space necessary for these antennas to
operate without interfering with each other. iMAT solves this challenge by
enabling a single antenna element to behave like multiple antennas. Recent field
tests confirmed that the antenna is a key component to the overall system
throughput, and the iMAT antenna yielded the highest throughput on average
compared to PCB antennas, ceramic chip antennas, and others.

"We are very pleased that Tecom selected our antennas for the WiMAX network
deployment in Taiwan," said David Williams, Director at SkyCross. "This win
underscores the benefits that iMAT delivers not only to the device, but also to
the network. A greater number of efficient, iMAT-equipped devices on a network
can improve the capacity and bandwidth of the entire system, enabling operators
to optimize network performance without additional infrastructure investments."

"First impressions are critical in new network deployments, and iMAT antennas
proved to be the best solution for our sleek USB dongles," said Jonah Kao,
Senior Director at Tecom. "We selected SkyCross because iMAT uniquely optimizes
size, performance, and price."
These products will be on display June 2-6 in the SkyCross hospitality suite at
the Grand Hyatt Taipei and at Tecom booth 731 at the WiMAX Taipei show
co-located with Computex. Contact Al Petrick at al.petrick@skycross.com or Luis
Tso at chtso@tecom.com.tw to arrange a meeting at the exhibition.

Alvarion has signed a turnkey contract with Mobitel to build a broadband
network in Nigeria using WiMAX technology

Amsterdam, May 2, 2009 - Alvarion Ltd. (NASDAQ:ALVR), the world's leading
provider of WiMAX and wireless broadband solutions, today announced it was
chosen by Mobitel to provide 802.16e WiMAX services for under-served areas
throughout Nigeria. Using Alvarion's BreezeMAX® solution in the 2.0 GHz, 2.2 and
2.3 GHz frequency bands, Mobitel will begin to offer voice and high-bandwidth
data services to thousands of residences and businesses nationwide, with the key
cities of Lagos, Port-Harcourt, Warri and Abuja being start points

Initial rollout of the WiMAX network is planned for Q3 2009, with 20,000
subscribers expected on the network during initial launch. Alvarion will also
provide a range of professional services including system integration, network
deployment, field maintenance, configuration, training and local support
services to ensure successful delivery of the network.

"This is a great opportunity for Mobitel to bring broadband services to remote
parts of the country. The use of WiMAX technology together with our existing
fixed line network allows us the possibility to offer converged services to our
customers," said Johnson Salako, President of Mobitel. "WiMAX provides a very
good business case to roll out broadband infrastructure with a much lower
upfront investment when compared to other technologies available in the market.
Given our ambitious goal for Nigeria we need a strong and reliable partner with
a proven track record to ensure our success and we believe Alvarion is best
suited to accomplish this."

During the second phase of the project, Mobitel and Alvarion will expand
coverage to 18 other states in the country, including Kano, Kaduna, Oyo and Edo.
The current population of Nigeria is estimated at 150 million people in 66
provinces with a very low internet penetration rate of less than 1%.

"We are very pleased to be selected by Mobitel for this contract. This win
reiterates Alvarion's leading position in the WiMAX market with a strong
portfolio of WiMAX solutions," said Tzvika Friedman, president and CEO of
Alvarion. "Being selected by an innovative operator as Mobitel is another proof
point of Alvarion strength in emerging markets as we continue to focus on
abundant opportunities in these underserved regions. Our proven WiMAX solution
and feature rich offering will enable a sound business case for Mobitel to bring
advanced broadband services to consumers and businesses in Nigeria."

WiMAX Forum Certified? program moving to market-driven pricing model

AMSTERDAM - June 2, 2009 - The WiMAX Forum today announced at its second
annual Global Congress 2009 in Amsterdam that 14 ecosystem leaders are
participating in the first ever commercial WiMAX interoperability and roaming
trials. These operators, device manufacturers, equipment vendors, and clearing
houses include Aicent, Alvarion, Bridgewater Systems, Cisco, Clearwire, Comfone,
DigitalBridge Communications, Intel, iPass, Juniper Networks, MACH, Motorola,
Syniverse and Transaction Network Services.

"This trial represents an end-to-end test of roaming over live WiMAX networks
and will provide a baseline for establishing roaming services and agreements for
WiMAX worldwide." said Ron Resnick, president and chairman of the WiMAX Forum.
"Roaming with interoperability is important in order to expand the availability
of WiMAX services by enabling users to automatically access networks when
traveling outside the geographical coverage area of their home network."

The commercial trial provides another platform for the WiMAX Forum to
aggressively position operators and clearinghouses to initiate commercial
roaming services which will lead to roaming worldwide. Additionally, the WiMAX
Forum provides operators and vendors with all the information needed to
understand WiMAX roaming and to launch roaming services at
www.wimaxroaming.org, including
technical specifications to follow when implementing roaming and a business
agreement template to use with other operators.

"The testing of networks and equipment on leading operator networks will
demonstrate to all WiMAX operators that they can easily provide roaming services
to their customers," said Resnick. "The goal is to demonstrate the WiMAX
standard end-to-end roaming implementation that will be replicated by WiMAX
operators and clearinghouses worldwide. This includes WiMAX networks which
support roaming services and the roaming back office platforms which track and
measure usage for operators to correctly settle accounts with each other."

Currently, WiMAX Forum tracks more than 475 WiMAX network deployments in 140
countries. A complete detail of WiMAX networks is available at
http://www.wimaxmaps.com.

Commuter Train WiMAX Services Launch in Taiwan

Paving the way for commercial roaming trials in Taiwan in Q3 of this year, the
WiMAX Forum announced that Information and Communications Research Laboratories
at Taiwan's Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), a WiMAX Forum board
member has launched a one year project providing free WiMAX service on the Muzha/Neihu
Line of the Taipei Metro system (MRT).

This project is coordinated by ITRI to work with multiple Taiwanese vendors to
provide Mobile internet WiMAX services available to every passenger riding the
metro. The network is provided by VMAX, one of the largest Taiwanese WiMAX
operators; the equipment is provided by Acer, AWB, MSI, Tecom and ZyXEL, and the
content is coming from Taipei Zoo, PTS (Public Television Service) and Taipei
City Government.

There will be two applications provided by this service: information
broadcasting and free Internet access with a WiMAX/Wi-Fi signal. ITRI will use
information broadcasting to provide useful information for passengers and
promote Taipei City Government services, such as live scenes from the zoo and
other important activities organized by Taipei City Government. This will give
passengers instant information, such as the tickets left for the Panda Pavilion
of Taipei Zoo, weather forecasting, breaking news, and public promotion video
from Taipei City Government. There will be two monitors installed in each car so
the passengers can enjoy the latest information while on the Metro. Passengers
may also use their WiMAX or Wi-Fi embedded devices for free access to the
Internet from the train car.

"3.5G or HSDPA can provide mobile service as well. However, WiMAX provides live
scene broadcasting which needs high bandwidth which can't be supported by HSDPA,"
said Resnick. "This service allows for real-time entertainment with live access
to the Internet at 4G speeds for free."

The WiMAX service will be available in eight cars from June 1, 2009 until May
31, 2010.

WiMAX Forum Certified? Pricing Model Changes

In addition, the WiMAX Forum Board of Directors has voted unanimously to change
the pricing fee setup for its WiMAX Forum Certified program to a market pricing
model at all six of its certification labs. The organization was able to move to
this pricing plan based on efficiencies in testing enabling lower cost for
product testing.

"The maturity of devices that we are seeing in the labs takes less time to test
compared to a few years ago," said Resnick. "Vendor options for pre-testing and
debugging reduces operational testing time and also further reduces the time
needed for lab testing. Additional automation of testing has also helped lower
these costs."

"This open market model allows for WiMAX Forum certification labs to negotiate
directly with vendors," said Sean Cai, deputy general manager of ZTE
Corporation's WiMAX product line and WiMAX Forum Board Member. "ZTE is
encouraged to have the opportunity to control our own destiny and as a result
we're eager get more products into the pipeline for certification." The WiMAX
Forum has 106 certified products in the market today, with a projection of at
least 1,000 certified products available by 2011.

SQN1220 features higher processing power for voice/data CPEs and Gateways

TAIPEI, WiMAX Expo, Paris, France; and CUPERTINO, Calif. - June 2, 2009
-- Sequans Communications, the world's leading WiMAX chipmaker, has introduced
the SQN1220, the second chip in its new generation series of 65nm Mobile WiMAX
system-on-chip (SOC) solutions. The new chip features a high level of processing
power as needed to support combination voice and data applications and targets
manufacturers of voice/data CPE and gateways with a solution that eliminates the
need for an external CPU or DSP. The first chip in Sequans' 65nm series, the
SQN1210, introduced three months ago, targets mobile applications. Both chips
integrate baseband and triple band RF in a single 65nm die in an industry-first
achievement that delivers unprecedented high performance, small size, and low
cost.

"The SQN1220 provides the additional horsepower needed for CPE and VoIP
applications that are currently very high in demand," said Georges Karam,
Sequans CEO. "The SQN1220 is a powerful, low cost solution for these
applications, enabling significantly reduced BOM as there is no need for an
additional processor. Like the SQN1210, the SQN1220 delivers the highest level
of integration yet achieved in WiMAX semiconductors."

The SQN1220 is based on state-of-the-art 65nm technology and four years of
Sequans' proven field experience. It delivers dramatically reduced power
consumption, size and cost over previous generation technology in a tiny 10X10
package. In addition to the extra processing power provided by the embedded
network processor to support VoIP and CPE applications, the SQN1220 features
Sequans' patent-pending mimoMAX? technology that comprises dual transmit
channels (2Tx), enabling uplink MIMO, and maximum likelihood MIMO performance
for throughput of greater than 40 Mbps with extremely low power consumption.
Uplink MIMO can nearly double cell coverage, and the SQN1220's power consumption
is the lowest in the industry at less than 350 mW with fully loaded MIMO
traffic.

ODMs adopting Sequans' new chip technology can take advantage of full reuse of
Sequans software, S3MAX, which is the most mature software solution in the
industry, based on four years of experience running in virtually all WiMAX
deployments worldwide. S3MAX includes the entire 802.16e software stack and
drivers for all major operating systems.

"We are pleased to make the SQN1220 available to customers today," said Karam.
"It is the most powerful solution of its kind in the industry today."

Mumbai - May 29, 2009 - The WiMAX Forum today announced the addition
of Tata Communications, one of the world's largest telecommunications providers,
as a new member to its Board of Directors. Prateek Pashine, COO of Tata
Communications' retail broadband unit, will serve as the representative to the
WiMAX Forum board.

"Electing Tata to the board demonstrates the WiMAX Forum's commitment to the
Indian market and signifies the company's importance to the WiMAX ecosystem
worldwide," said Ron Resnick, president and chairman of the WiMAX Forum. "As one
of the leading global Internet and voice operators, Tata Communications has
demonstrated its confidence that WiMAX is the leading 4G technology, and they
have articulated their plans to bring broadband services to consumers in India
through WiMAX."

Mr. Prateek Pashine, Chief Operating Officer of the retail broadband unit of
Tata Communications has been with the Tata Group since 1995. Pashine was
responsible for setting up Tata Communications Lanka (formerly VSNL Lanka)
operations and served as Director on its Board for two years. He has worked on
various committees set up by the Government of India to explore options on
broadband initiatives with other countries. He has worked in various industries
such as hospitality, software, real estate and telecom equipment and services.
Pashine was the recipient of the prestigious Fullbright Scholarship of US and

have predicted that India will play an important role in the development of the
Global WiMAX ecosystem, and we will bring that perspective to the forefront
within the Forum. Markets like India have unique product and business model
needs which we expect would lead the way for other markets and operators around
the world."

India has a huge opportunity for a rapid growth of Internet penetration.
Currently broadband penetration in India is just 6.22 million out of the more
than one billion population. Tata Communications plans to bring broadband
services to homes and small businesses around the country to meet that need.

"I believe that India can soon be the largest market for WiMAX worldwide," said
Pashine. "Our goal is to develop a profitable business model and offer a range
of affordable devices and services to our customers. As a member of the WiMax
Forum Board, Tata Communications can encourage accelerated development of low
cost WiMAX technologies products."

Currently, Tata Communications is an active member of the WiMAX Forum India
Chapter (WFIC) and holds leadership positions in three of the chapter's four
working groups. Tata Communications also serves as the driving force for opening
a certification lab in India and hopes to establish a live network test bed
using its network in the near future.

Unkept promises could lead to backlash from early adopters

WiMAX operators who overhype their networks' peak speeds risk angering
early adopters who feel their expectations haven't been met, an analyst from
Pyramid Research said Wednesday.

During a Webinar on best practices for deploying WiMAX, Pyramid Research analyst
Özgür Aytar said that one of the biggest potential pitfalls for WiMAX operators
is emphasizing network speed too much in their pitches to customers. Although
she acknowledged that overhyping peak network speeds is a bad practice for any
network operator, she said it is particularly bad for those offering new
technologies such as WiMAX because early adopters could quickly grow
disillusioned if they find themselves frustrated by slower-than-expected speeds.

Juniper Research - HAMPSHIRE, UK - May 20, 2009 - Mobile WiMAX
networks are being rolled out more slowly than expected, meaning that service
revenues will grow more slowly than forecast a year ago, a new study from
Juniper Research concluded.

The report found that revenues from WiMAX 802.16e broadband subscribers will
exceed $15 billion globally by 2014. WiMAX will provide an improved
experience for broadband customers who are receiving low speed DSL or cable
modem services, or at the limit of DSL coverage.

However, WiMAX is faced by spectrum auction postponements in several countries,
funding problems from the credit crunch, and slow network implementations, all
combining to handicap network operators signing up subscribers.

WiMAX hampered by significant hurdles

These factors -- some of which are outside the control of the WiMAX ecosystem --
are holding back the market. Report author Howard Wilcox warned: "Whilst
market leaders such as Clearwire are launching services and expanding
internationally, there are also well-publicised challenges for WiMAX such as
those highlighted by French regulator ARCEP. We're on the cusp of make or
break time for WiMAX."

In addition, the report determined that the WiMAX ecosystem needs to deliver by
translating trials into reliable, commercial services that attract customers.

Further findings include:

- North America, Far East & China and Western Europe together will account for
70% of market by 2014

- Mobile WiMAX has role to play in providing broadband in developing countries
where there is no wired network

- Africa and the Middle East, South America, the Indian Sub Continent and
Eastern Europe will together be worth some $4bn by 2014

Juniper provides a balanced assessment of the opportunity for mobile WiMAX.
The report features regional forecasts with country detail, identifying
broadband and DSL growth, WiMAX market status and use case analysis.
