Problem: I like the new feature in Win7 where in Windows Explorer/desktop (with file extensions visible) you can rename a file and it initially won't automatically select the file extension part of the file name. If you still want to rename the extension, (more...)
Solution: Extend this functionality into the Save As... dialog when trying to rename a suggested file name. (you can of course, still rename the extension by highlighting manually)
Severity: Medium
Problem: identify display has outdated Font. this can't be a graphics card issue as I've used many computers with many diferent graphic cards and all have the same text.
Solution: Update the font to segoe. Perhaps add some more information such as what type of display (TV, monitor, laptop display etc) and perhaps what type of connection (VGA, DVI, HDMI etc)
Problem: The scroll bar in the Explorer windows waste screen space, especially on netbooks.
Solution: Make the scroll bar fade out when not in use. If the mouse goes near the scroll bars, they would fade in again. This is cleverly implemented on the Zune HD.
Problem: While I love the special feature of IE8 to be able to see each tab as if it were a separate window, there's one quirk that I'm finding increasingly annoying.

With every OTHER active icon on the task bar, clicking it will bring (more...)
Solution: A simple click on the IE task bar icon should bring the window to the front, with the active tab unchanged from the last time it was visible. Of course, you should still be able to hover over it and select a tab to become active.
Problem: I have just brought a new Microsoft Life Cam v1000, due to the fact that my old (really old )logitech communicator has no current support for win 7.
Problem: I posted a new anomaly (read: bug) and was almost unanimously voted off the island. The submission categories absolutely include "BUG" and the requirement states: "*Required. What is wrong with it at the moment.". Why have this ability (more...)
Solution: Have an "About Us" page with a concise mission statement, clear rules, and dos and don'ts. There are no website rules posted, so one presently has to extrapolate the rules from the available selections. There is also no clear rule as to (more...)
Problem: Sometimes I make a small typo when I quickly want to search for something on my computer. Also, people make typo's when writing emails which makes literal search also a bit uncomfortable.

I mostly use the search bar in the Start Menu.
Solution: Make it possible to search fuzzy, either by default or in a accessible optional way (maybe even per-search). It would greatly enhance the searching experience.
Problem: I am regularly on a network with a wireless SMC Barracuda ADSL modem/router and experience a relative long delay between requesting (Windows) to connect and the actual working wireless connection. (WPA-PSK 802.11 N ; WPA-Personal with TKIP)
<br (more...)
Solution: Rename the button to OK or continue. There may not even be a need to actually Cancel since if the connect can be successful after all the user is happy.
Problem: The snipping tool is great as far as it goes, but it really needs some basic editing features to maximize it's usefulness. A circle/ellipse tool to highlight things in the screen capture, a text tool to be able to add text bubbles or text boxes (more...)
Solution: Add additional tools to the current tools, including ellipse/circle (hold down shift or control to constraint to circle), rectangle or box (hold down shift or control to constrain to a square), Text box (for adding text, with optional colored text, colored (more...)
Problem: When the question mark button in the Windows DVD Maker options dialog is clicked, a question mark cursor appears like in older versions of Windows that had context-sensitive help. Clicking on any of the items in the dialog box just opens up the main help (more...)
Solution: Either make the question mark button in the Windows DVD Maker options dialog open help straight away when clicked, or remove the question mark button altogether and have it so that F1 has to be pressed in order for the help topic to appear.
Problem: Hi there,
In Windows 7:

Win + 1 - switches to the first app on the taskbar
Win + 2 - to the second app and so on...
BUT
These shortcuts dont work when pressing Win + # in numpad . And, not using the numpad, (more...)
Problem: sometimes the live previews are not useful as they are too small to distinguish between windows.
Solution: allow the live previews to be dynamically be resized by the user by , for example, rolling their mouse wheel when hovering over them.
