Well its been a while since i've blogged some pics, things have been really busy around our house. I realized i hadn't downloaded pics in almost 2 months. here are just a few of katie. We did get a kick out of how the pics would go from snow to flowers depending on the weekend they were taken. We have had more rain in the last few weeks than i remember all of last year.

here are are a few pics from the last few days. We had katies birthday party on saturday, the theme was Charlottes web, we had pink pig cookies and everything. Her Grandma and Papa Harryman come through with katies long awaited purple bike. But Katie did her part and paid at the register with all her pacifiers, officially making her a big girl and thus eligible to ride her new bike. Hope you enjoy. I'll post more pics after these of her other gifts from Cheri and I, including her first backpack and a bird feeder which she loves.

Another in the seriies of Katie doing chores around the house. Although with our change in winter she's shifted from dog poop pickup to snow removal. We had about a foot yesterday but its melting fast.

Katie has been going to the local gymnastics studio and playing on the equipment. One of her favorite things to do is summer saults. Part of the problem is Cheri can't do them, so katie took it on herself to teach cheri. She also decided to help us pick up the dog poop from the front yard. With skills like that we are thinking about letting her set up her own poop and scoop business.

Hannah Came to visit

It was a beautiful day in Estes Park, we took our friends Tia and Todd up for a little snowshoeing. For Christmas this year we picked up some marmot gloves and a new sled for Katie, but she really wanted to snowshoe. Here is a clip.

The great Tree Hunt

Today we tracked down the hardest to find trophies of the season. A good looking tree that actually fits in the house. It was a great time, even if katie was a little freaked out by the snow. She will have lots of time to get used to playing in the white stuff with her new sled (a little early christmas present.

The Day After

Well it happened. For a conservative guy like me last night was a worst case scenario, we lost the president, our senate seat and congressional seat. With congress and senate we sent some of the most liberal and well funded candidates ever from Colorado. Millionaires in state and out of state lined up to buy the seats. Your new president spent $8 for every vote, I pray that they protect this country that i love so much, but i have my doubts. The do nothing democratic congress can no longer blame republicans. As i have heard it said, the next hurricane they will have no one to blame. What do we do now, we stand for our principles. We make it known what believe in and point out injustices. We don't whine, or cry, but we do look forward. We will look back in 4 years and see our mistakes, then we will set this country back on tack and try to fix 4 years of obama rule. For me personally its meant that its time to look into getting more involved. We celebrated some last night, we have some great local politicians that either retained their posts or were elected to new ones. Don Marostica, Tom Donnelly, and Steve Johnson. Great men each and every one, and an inspiration to get more involved. the only question now is 2 years or 4.............. Stay tuned.

Just another day

Ok if you have not noticed by now we have been to alot of pumpkin patches this year. So what do we do on Saturday's? We get up and find a reason to explore a new pumpkin patch (not really). The UWNA (University of Wyoming National Ambassadors) held a kids get together at one here in town. It was lots of fun and we ran into a few friends of mine from college. We have been finishing out days either reading a book or like in this last pic, katie reading to one of her babies.

Palin Visit Part 2

Well we got in!!!!! even the VIP line took several hours to get through security. 5 metal detectors for 9,000 people was a little silly. But we were excited to have floor access and be sitting in about the 4th row. We really had a good time, the place went nuts when sarah come on stage with her family.(the mayor sitting behind me finally asked it I was going to stand the whole time) We had a great time, one of the best lines was when a young woman was shown the door by security for being a little inapropriate (wearing an obama shirt in public should be considered bad form anyway) looking up sarah saw the ruckus and commented, "maybe they should let her stay, she might learn something" Typical good hearted western politician, you may not agree with everyone but your always willing to show them the truth. Now if only the rest of america could see through the fog of hype and realize how close we are to electing a mad man named BO to the most powerful position in the world. And to end on a positive note, and before BO taxes my internet connection before he's even in office. Here is a pic of katie picking out her pumpkin from yet another visit to a local farm, she has several more on the schedule.

Katie is starting to think pumpkins grow everywhere. Greg and Anne came for a visit from Lousiana and they finally met katie and we met their little one lilly. The last pic is my commute to my weekend job. Rush hour in estes park. We are leaving in a few minutes to see Sarah Palin here in loveland, i'm not sure what VIP on the tickets really means but we are taking the camera.

Ok, its been over a month since the last post, but for good reason. So this will be a double post to catch up on pics. Between the new job and political season we just haven't done much of anything except run around. So to recap

Tia's Wedding- We catered and did photography
Politics- Setup local GOP office, helping on campaings, and promoting candidates.
Day at the farm- Pics below, we took a hay ride and gathered veggies (lots and lots)
Katies Papa and Grandma visited- brought our nieces and had a trip to butterfly pavilion
Fight with HOA-Reference Politics
Drive by shooting- Ok it was 3 or 4 houses down
New crazy neighbors- we miss the boys, but the new ones carry guns (and have a dog)
Cheri is getting into politics- She's starting debates among friends (i knew it wouldn't take too long)
Joined Boy Scouts- Ok so i signed on with a local troop (promised to stay low)
I know there are more things going on that we can't remember right now, we did just watch the pres debates, and Marilyn (the congresswoman who knows katie on a first name basis) got me tickets to the debate here thursday. I'm waiting for my tickets when Sara comes to town...........
