Located in Northern Santa Barbara County, Foxen has been making wine since 1985 and was featured in the movie, Sideways.

We’ll be tasting the wines of Badia a Coltibuono, an historic winery in the heart of Tuscany. Named as the Abbey of the Good Culture, Badia a Coltibuono is a majestic, culturally important estate that can lay claim to be the oldest continuously operating winery in the world. The estate has 1,000 years of European cultural history as a place of worship and spiritual refuge, as well as a center of learning and agricultural research. The Abbey has been in the Stucchi Prinetti family since 1846.

Our special guest, Emanuela Stucchi Prinetti is the first woman president of the Marchio Storico Chianti Classico Consorzio, Emanuela, together with her brothers Roberto & Paolo, are the 5th generation family members managing the estate. Their farming is done organically of only indigenous, heirloom, Tuscan varieties which are vinified traditionally.

We’ll be tasting the varied wines (and varied terroir) of Greece. Join special guest and the region’s preeminent expert on Greek wine, Ioannis Tsapos, as he guides you through each wine, answers questions and teaches us about the many wines and places of Greece.

The Host:
Ioannis (Yanni) founded Dionysos Imports over twenty years ago after years of bringing wine, beer and olive oil back from his Greek homeland for his friends and the many Greek restaurants in Washington D.C. He grew up in Greece and came to the United States to continue his education in the complexities of the wine world.

After school, he worked as a sommelier in D.C. for many years before becoming an importer of small production wine from Greece. Ioannis’ passion for sharing the treasure of Greek wine, one of the best values in the wine world, has brought him great success and happiness over the years. He is passionate about working closely with family growers from Greece and across the globe and loves to tell their stories over a glass.
