I haven't visited wine country in Spain, but I have small family wineries of Tuscany and Argentina, as well as Napa, Paso Robles, Willamette OR, Santa Ynez (Santa Barbara), Monterrey, Carmel, and more. In all of these you can find small family wineries that provide rich experiences, but there is especially a depth in the Russian River area (Russian River, Dry Creek, Alexander Valley) of Sonoma County where dozens+ of small, <10k case artisan wineries make their craft. Many of these wineries sell little outside of the Bay area, or Western US, let alone internationally as you laud. I think the title of the blog, and rock thrown, is miss aimed.
