I haven’t tried this wine, but have yet to have a bad bottle from M&S.

ABOUT THIS WINE: Grown 60km from Zaragoza in an awe inspiring region located in Spain’s North East, this Monte Otón Granacha is an exceptional example of modern Spanish winemaking. Grown in vineyards largely given over to Garnacha (or Grenache in France), where it thrives in the dry hot conditions, the vines are hand harvested and taken to the winery in the cool of night to preserve their freshness. After fermenting and storage, it’s then bottled young and fresh several months later

SERVING: Serve this wine at room temperature with hearty meat dishes, pasta or pizza. It also makes for a terrific party wine

KEEPING: Although ready to drink now, you can keep this wine for up to one year after purchase. Once started, enjoy it within three days and store the bottle somewhere cool, resealing it between servings.

Brown Brothers Chenin Blanc 2007

This is a refreshing unwooded white wine with sweet flavours of grapes, melon and has a slight grass character. It is balanced by a crisp fresh finish and this wine goes well with snacks or a light dinner. This was on special at Morissons at below 5 pound.

This is a lovely wine and I would say it is a bit on the sweet side for me.

Both the Jacobs Creek Shiraz Cabernet and the Grenache Shiraz are 3 for £10 at ASDA at the moment. Both of these are really nice “safe” wines, so stock up while you can.

EagleCrest Chardonnay Wine - £2.00 at Sainsbury’s

I must say I have not tried this wine, but looking at the reviews it doesn’t do so badly. From what I read it could do with being a little more dry, but for £2 it is excellent value and from what I can see it is a loss leader, as opposed to being massively poor quality. If there is any in stock over the weekend I will certainly purchase a few bottles.

Looks like a good opportunity to stock up for Christmas… beat the old “credit crunch!”

Cycles Gladiator Pinot Noir

Going with the theory that every pound you spend over a fiver gives much better wine, I splashed out on this bottle from the co-op. It is a Pinot Noir but almost has a hint of Grenache to it. It has striking berry flavours and is so smooth!

The label is interesting and it would be a great wine to take to a party, as it has a lovely taste and you can bet your bottom dollar most people will not have seen it before!

Jacobs Creek is one of those “safe bet” wines, and for £3 a bottle it’s got to be worth stocking up on.

This is on sale at Sainsbury’s, half price, £3.99!

This is a fantastic wine, especially for £3.99. It has great legs (ooh err) and a smooth taste. I reviewed the 2005 a while ago but this is almost the same. Great wine and a great price!

This is a cracking deal for an excellent wine. I have yet to write a review for it but in my opinion comes a close second to the Yellow Label. Shame we don’t have a Tesco round here, but at this price you should stock up while you can.
