Vidyarambham at Manorama on Vijayadashami Day 2010

Vijayadashami is on 17th October 2010. Malayala Manorama is organizing Vidyaramabham at all its locations as before. Eminent personalities will grace the occasion and will do the ‘ezhuthiniruthu’ for kids. Manorama will present the certificate with the kids photo after Vijayadashami. Registration is open at Malayala Manorama offices for the Vidyarambham. In Kerala Vidyarambam will be held at 10 units of Malayala Manorama. Onam Release Malayalam Movies for 2010

Keralites welcome Onam 2010 without any new movie releases from Malayalee’s favorite Mega Stars, Mammootty and Mohanlal. This is because Onam falls in the Ramzan fasting period, and all big releases are planned for perunnal. Nehru Trophy Boat Race Alappuzha Winners 2010

Jawahar Thayangari Chundan is the winner of 58th Nehru Trophy Boat race Alappuzha in the fiercely fought boat race in the Punnamada Lake today. Earlier Smt. Prathibha Patil, honorable President of India inaugurated the Nehru Trophy boat race in Alappuzha today. Nehru Trophy boat race is the very famous competition in Alappuzha which attracts lots of tourists from India and abroad. It is held on 2nd Saturday of August every year. This year the Nehru Trophy Boat Race event falls on the Atham day, the first day of Onam celebrations in Kerala. It is a colorful competition of snake boats known as ‘Chundan Vallam’ and various other boats. Thousands of people participates in the boat race.
