Microsoft Office 15 suite in Windows 8 will include a "touch mode" to enlarge the ribbon interface and other UI elements for the tablet users. The mode will include an animation of a number of Office features, and bigger icons and spacing in the ribbon. Office 15 apps are currently in Technical Preview with a beta scheduled for summer, and some will be packaged as part of Windows on ARM.

Microsoft now has stopped compiling beta 'Consumer Preview' builds of Windows 8. The final build will be signed off officially on Friday and is expected to be numbered 8250. Microsoft will unveil its Windows 8 Consumer Preview work during a special event at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next Wednesday. We are told that the company will release the preview to the public at the beginning of the event, which kicks off at 3PM CET (9AM ET).

PC gaming has been declared dead time and time again over the years because of piracy and consoles, but developer Remedy has just shown that there's still a large market for games on the ol' desktop. The company proclaimed today that its highly-rated $29.99 self-published port of the psychological thriller Alan Wake recouped its entire development and marketing expenses within 48 hours of its release on the 16th.
