By giving the individual worker a focus on the their production, and rewards for increasing production, they will gradually be more and more interested and active in finding ways and means to increase their production.

This can lead to two positive outcomes:
1.	Immediate / short-term increases of personal productivity. This may be by;
	Personal motivation to work faster for the extra rewards;
	Better organising their immediate environment (Eg, their work day, flow of work, interaction with co-workers)
	Focusing on the productive / valuable work they are there to do as opposed to distractions or less productive activities.
2.	Longer-term harnessing of workers knowledge and innovative potential. As time progresses with staff working with this incentive program and thinking more with how they can influence production increases in the organisation, they will be a much more valuable resource when management want to consult them for ideas and planning. Imagine, if you will, a staff member who is eager to contribute bright ideas to management on how to increase the productivity of the organisation because they want (and have an ‘incentive’) to increase their production statistics. A year on this program would be a year of thinking of ways increase production – innovation for production.
3.	Measuring productivity in no longer a mystery – sporting bodies have been measuring performances of individuals for years. (Learn how you can actually measure almost every employees work) Get a free quote from Win-Win.

Surveys tell us:

The order of the most desirable incentive:
1	Holidays
2	Gifts/vouchers
3	Money

It is recommended when employing people their salary/wage package is all agreed on beforehand. The incentive program is your choice and options can be changed to suit the time of the year along with the customs of the profession.

The Win-Win Staff Incentive Reports are the key to success:

The Win-Win Staff Reports are used as a means for an employee to communicate what he/she has achieved in the past week based on what the employer has requested.

Staff reports are issued to each staff member around the same time each week. In a small business or company this is performed by the owner or manager. In a larger organisation it may be performed by a senior manager for the division or department;

Because it is a visual aid, both for the employee and employer, real communication takes place to work through the issues both are faced with on a weekly basis.

The key is employees must see their report each week, good or bad to get the greatest positive effect.

It is a well documented fact people are willing to do their jobs – if they know what is expected of them.

The productivity points which are reflected on the individual’s report are then tabulated each week to show on the company Leader Board (normally displayed on the employees notice board) This action brings about the friendly banter between staff and creates the game for the week.

A good coach will use this banter /challenges to the advantage of the group.

Leadership:

It is based almost solely on the ability to give and enforce orders.

An order or directive is necessary to bring about coordination of function and activity without which there could be disagreement and confusion.

When a system starts to fail:

It will be observed when a system or procedure starts to fail it is only because somebody has changed or stopped it without notice.

Keep your reports up to each employee each week and play the game and WIN

MORE ON REWARDS AND TIMING

January to March Quarter:

This is known to be a costly quarter for most organizations who employ a number of people. (Cash Flow becomes an issue for many.)

The costs associated with the aftermath of the Festive Season -Bonuses, holiday pays, and public holidays and / or sick leave.

The importance to most organisations to maintain real production during this quarter becomes somewhat strained both for employer and employee.

The win-win system allows for a varied reward system which still maintains a feeling of well being for a staff member who makes it their duty to help their employer over these difficult times.

The win-win system still recognizes and rewards all productivity.

Some will say money should not be the motivation for rewards. While this is true most of the time there can be times when it would suit an employer to pay a money bonus for production or a mixture of prizes and money.

The quarter leading up to the Festive Season, October to December is the prime time of the year to offer cash bonuses for high productivity to every employee whether they are taking holidays or not.

Employers can capitalize on the Win-Win system in this quarter by offering cash incentives to be made available just prior to Christmas Break with 50% before and 50% balance on return to the job after the Christmas break when many are a bit short of cash.

The win-win system provides for variation in creativity in making work a real team effort where everybody wins.

Although the system will take a few months to really see true benefits in the bottom line, the morale of 97.5% of the employees will be high and energetic within just a few weeks.

Work really does become a game with people achieving results never dreamed of.

And that’s just the start.

You will receive regular hints via the web site or mail.

Best wishes

In this day and age where we have lots of methods to communicate — talk to people with.

We have machines like computers, mobile phones, and fax machines – in/out office trays; all these have the capability to send our messages direct without having to talk to a person face to face.

Interpersonal effects:

Now have you ever noticed when you have been watching a special segment on the TV or listening to something special on the radio or maybe you have got your attention on a book or article, someone says something to you or asks you a question and you ignore them (not normally out of rudeness – it’s just your attention was not on the person)? Look at just how they get a bit irate at you in no time at all.

You look at them with a look of confusion as if to say “what’s all the fuss about?”

This all happens because people don’t answer or acknowledge what a person has to say (it has nothing to do whether you agree with them or not really) they just don’t know if they have been heard.

The saving grace is, when you are in the same room you can pull that person’s attention to answer you or at least acknowledge you in some way with a nod, wave of the hand or just a grunt – at least you feel better with that person.

Try this:

Start talking to someone and you talk, they listen you stop and they talk and you listen, they stop – you say nothing? (In other words ignore them a little)

Get the idea – feel the frustration, if not, start talking to someone again and then ignore them and watch the reaction from them.

In the office:

NOTE: The point I’m trying to make is aligned with emails between people.

I’m not talking about sales letters or the like from people you don’t know.

How often do you send an email with a request or something and people don’t let you know they received the communication – you can be hung up for days wondering “did they receive it?” – That’s all, did they receive it?

If you would like to improve the lives of people around you, be they family, friends, workers or clients, please let them know you have received their communication with an “Ok” or a nod or “I got it” Something that will let them know you got the message, strangely enough it will start happening to you too.

The same goes for the email or office memos – let people know it’s been received.

“You can’t read people’s minds” and they can’t read yours either.

Mail Out

Bills Paid

Accounts Receivable

Accounts payable

Value of Serviced Deliver

Just to name a few.

The vertical line going up is for the amounts.

The horizontal line going across is for the dates or week-ending.

When you first start putting a graph together, it helps if you have some previous weeks to work with, to establish the best picture for a graph that will give you accurate data you can work with.

Download a free sample Business Controller Staff Report and graph.

You can have a graph that has too highs and lows – ups & down which take the full length of the page. This is not good because it is difficult to read the trend: FLAT – UP – OR DOWN.

It can go the same the other way and be too flat and its difficult to see the trend because it always looks flat.

Excel gives you many types of graphs or charts you can use and the reason for this they all have a special purpose.

For our purpose we like to use a thickish line graph which when going up it shows BLACK and when going down it shows RED.

Excel does not do this for us so we needed to find a program that would – the programmer made it go right.

During our research and trials with graphs we found people in general liked to see graphs trending upwards, the morale was high and they were happy to share their achievements.

However when the graphs trended downwards with thickish red lines, they didn’t like to look at them for very long and in fact would try hide or make excuses why they were down – this went for owner-managers as well as employees.

We found it is important action to take the time and work on the actual graphing numbers which do show an instant picture.

Download a free sample Business Controller Staff Report and graph.

I would recommend all business owners to try their exercise and put their last 14 weeks sales figures on a graph with black lines for rises and red lines for falls and look at what the graph is showing you, then do the same with your banking for the same period.

Now observe you own reactions.

Do not under estimate the power of a graph and what it communicates to you.

On a business level large or small you need this management monitor – call them what you will KPIs or STATISTICS.

It’s what they can show you in an instant is what is important.

There is much to learn on this subject of graphs as a management tool for employers and employee alike.

Now you can spend the time on excel or doing all this manually and it is still beneficial – but into days technical days we have it all done for you in our INSTANT BUSINESS MONITOR which by the way can be turned into a staff incentive in no time at all.

Management and Sports Coaches

How do you measure the success of top athletes?

Number of scores, the number of games won or the end of year premiership trophy?

Coaches have statistics on each player’s achievements and performance.

Its difficult in professional sports to coach on the field. The coach is like senior management and finds it best to coach from a distance where he / she can observe and direct the action.

So it is with the managing a company.

Just like a Coach, Management needs to see individual statistics for every staff member.

Why?

By stating exactly what each staff member is supposed to produce and inspecting whether or not they actually know what this is and if it is actually happening, a great deal can be learned, and management can be very effective.

As a Coach, if your players and athletes understand where they have gone wrong they are much more likely to learn from their mistakes and strive to improve and not fail again in the future.

Likewise when a team or athlete wins, a good coach will obviously celebrate the achievement. This encourages teams and individuals to remain dedicated to always improving and not becoming complacent.

Without job satisfaction, staff come and go like the tides and the business has no power, it will not grow. It will be a headache to manage and no one will have fun. Profits will sag.

A business that has happy and motivated staff is a joy to work in. It grows quickly and makes tremendous profits.

Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest. Staff incentives need not be complicated.

By stating exactly what each staff member is supposed to produce and inspecting whether or not they actually know what this is and if it is actually happening, a great deal can be learned, and management can be very effective.

If you reward each and every staff member for doing what they are supposed to do, and doing it well, the morale of the company will go through the roof, and so will the profits. This is a proven fact!

An effective staff incentive program is the key to your staffs sense of job satisfaction.

Offering your staff members an incentive that is not directly related to their particular job or does not interest them can actually have an negative effect.

On the other hand, having incentives in place that match the actual activities of each and EVERY job in the business can have a dramatic impact on profits, if the staff are really interested in the reward.

There is an art and science behind a custom designed staff incentive and motivation program. Getting it right is one of the most important keys to your business’s success.

Money is good but it is not always the best incentive.

What makes a true group?

PURPOSE

If your group operates as a team, with a purpose, there are very few obstacles which will stop its progress.

For a team to operate and operate well, there must be COMMUNICATION present amongst its members so they can address the many situations they are confronted with everyday. This is just like any game.

All games have a purposes and many obstacles, just like many company experiences in day-to-day operations.

The objective of all games and all business ventures is to overcome obstacles and win by getting results on the score board.
