Hector Xavier Monsegur became an FBI informant in exchange for his freedom. On the other hand, Jester the pro establishment hacker is on the verge of a dox, then again in the world of hacking things can get wee bit confusing, from homophobic name calling to mixing letters with numbers, th1ng2 can g3t a wee bit mixed up.

Nonetheless we couldn’t give a rat’s ass about that.

Anyway dude got a sweet gig at a startup and now busy as hell coding things for them. Which is why you hardly see him on the net (Facebook, Twitter, Jiboneus). Once he is somewhat free from the clutches of the evil startup capitalists dude might be back, but for now young man gotta work hard paying the bills to start a family.

I on the other hand am busy with the day job and currently writing for FMT, a weekly column, socio political. Of course, apart from that I’m too busy surfing through 9gag, looking at pictures of cats and trolling people on twitter hence got no time to update W//W.

So now with us getting somewhat busy and seeing how we have to adjust new schedule, W//W too will have to be adjusted. Previously, this site or ‘web zine’ was supposed to be the place where you get things in regards to the internet and it’s subculture, seeing as how now real life has intervened this place will probably be something like this..

A site/blog/zine where I write whatever the hell I want, since I spend a shitload amount of time on the net, basically it would be just like old times, only with much-much worse grammar and spelling mistakes, for every post is also a first and a final draft.

In the Spirit of freedom and Liberty and seeing how Ron Paul’s chances of being the Republican nominee is as slim as me getting a dinner date with Sarimah Ibrahim, might as well go with it.

One of the last few Jedis to stand tall and save the republic from the evil clutches of the empire.

We used to hit refresh on tech blogs again and again to get the up to the minute update. Now it seems that most of this tech blogs has some sort of live blogging feature that auto-magically refresh itself.

The only thing that is revolutionary on The New iPad, is its name. Apple did really call it ‘The New iPad’ during the announcement. My guess is that they are going to drop the numbering on this iOS devices and just call is as iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, just like the Mac like of products, the iMac and the MacBook.

Apple themselves are not calling it revolutionary, they are calling it ‘resolutionary’. Yet another silly term Apple coined, like ‘Funnest iPod’ or ‘smooth like butter’ or ‘auto-magically’. The last one I’ve to admit I use quite often when there is something that just works and I have no idea why or how.

Nothing new on the iPad that has not been done before, we all had seen Retina Displays, better camera, and quad-core chips. Text dictation and iCloud all we have seen before. ‘The New iPad’ is not really a new iPad, it’s more of ‘an improved iPad’.

You by now must be wondering, why is there a post on the iPad on WirawanWeb? This is a tech blog focusing on Internet and other web geek stuff. The reason is that this New iPad, might just be a tablet that has the most wireless bands cramped together. This iPad supports, Wifi, GSM/UMTS worldwide network technologies which includes, 3G, HSPA+, DC-HSDPA, and 4G LTE.

The whole alphabet soup there shows that Apple wants this device to be as connected as ever. The future will be an empty terminal you holding in your hand with all the contents stored in the cloud. Sadly we are far away from this ‘always-connected’ utopian future. We are still struggling with network technologies. Companies still are greedy and charging ridiculous amount of money for bandwidth and data usage.

Than again these are pretty much a first world problem. There are still parts in the world that has now access to clean water. However it won’t surprise me if you were to tell me that these same part of the world with no access to clean water might actually have access to GSM networks.

As how Apple CEO Tim Cook puts it in the last part of his keynote speech, ‘There is a lot to look forward to.’

Utah Senator Orrin Hatch speaking in congress accused Obama of favouring wealthy eco friendly urbanies who are ‘liberal’ leaning over blue collared hard working class of Americans thanks to his ‘anti oil’ stances. It seems that President’s Obama green policies are made to appease these subset of voters by which the Senator described as “President Obama has traded in the hard hat and lunch bucket category of the Democratic Party for the hipster fedora and a double skim latte” and he also added that “The president is putting the preferred lifestyle policies of wealthy urbanites ahead of the needs of blue-collar and union workers and middle-class Americans.”

It seems that for an American ‘Conservative’ one must not Conserve the enviroment rather the main aim is to conserve the prices of gas price so that people can conserve the calories by driving instead of walking to a bus station.

Since the Senator being a Republican is speaking on the platform of the Majority party in the house, hence we can assume that being eco friendly and green technology isn’t really the mainstream thing now thus the Senator may be somewhat accurate by pointing out that being Pro Green is Pro Hipster, so start wearing a fedora and order a double skim latte you tree huggers cause apparently global warming is a hipster thing.

As soon as the story hits, there’s already a bunch of conversations on social media everywhere. Soon ordinary people with the power that Internet and the social web brings quickly unravel the stories. There is a bigger conspiracy going on.

This is very relevant especially these days. News, information and also mis-information spread like wild fire with the help of social media and such. It looks like The Guardian is telling us with this advert that they are also listening to other signals as news unfolds.

It’s a new ball game for news publishers.

Pope using the Ipad updating his twitter, Steve Jobs must be in heaven....

The Catholic church over the millenia had always reinvent themselves to relate themselves to the times, with innovative religious paraphernalia and gadgets like Solar Powered Bibles and The Pope Mobile it seems quite natural for them to have a twitter account. Although one may find the name, rather in poor taste, @Pope2YouVatican sounds a wee bit too commercialised don’t you think? Something like Maybank2u or some obscure spam bot that spews out ads whenever you mention the word ‘computer’.

Of course the twitter handle isn’t being operated directly by Pope Bennedict himself rather it’s being operated by the Pontifical Council for Social Communications. Pontiff meaning high priest and in this case it’s the Pope, so his PR team is operating this handle and by which we suspect is the same people responsible in choosing the name. However leaked information would be useless if they can’t be understood for it’s original context and since there is about 5 million files that is available, spanning topics that covers all over the globe, Wikileaks announces partnership with 25 media organisation to help them sniff through the information and make sense in tying up to a grater picture.

Interesting enough one of the media organisation that is participating in this big project is Malaysia Today who is also quite known to be the platform that releases many classified documents. It would be interesting though on how Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Malaysia Today’s webmaster and editor would reveal to the Malaysian public based on the leaked GIF documents.

The last time that the Wikieleaks document had an impact on Malaysia was through a leaked US Embassy cable based in Canberra by which it was reported that the Australia’s Office of National Assessments, concurring with their counterparts in Singapore, concluded that Malaysia’s opposition leader walked into a trap and he probably knew it but walked into it anyway and mentioned a technical evidence acquired by the Singaporeans. By which the ‘trap’ mentioned in this context is the recent Saiful and Anwar debacle.

Though many argue that Wikileaks release compromises the lives of many, especially the diplomatic cables leak, still their defenders insist that this is a part of a global transparency movement and freedom of speech, insisting that instead of selling these information to a third party they release it to the public, stating that it’s a part of Journalism to uncover things. Which is why, this time around they are working with various media organisation to not only sniff through the information and piece together the puzzle, but also to demonstrate the spirit behind the release.

Behold the abomination that is called Bihun Goreng Kosong. Well not exactly kosong, it was ordered as Bihun Goreng (biasa) and it came in a portion for two people. Perhaps the mamak stall nearby our office wanted to give the impression that they serve abundantly, they serve the bihun for two yet the ingredients are made for one, hence you get a very bland oily taste, which is just fine.

Note that it’s written here as bihun and not mee hoon and that’s because that is exactly what was written by the fellow who took our order. The restaurant is located behind our office beside ‘Orange’ Cybercafe in front of the secondary school near Carrefour there, the one beside Shell. It’s being run by 3 blokes, one does the cooking, one chashier and one dude who does the drink. Today J felt somewhat Italian and since Pasta is somewhat pricey he decided to go for the alternative by which Bihun.

The Bihun was generally bland though the taste of oil was somewhat prevalent throughout the whole meal, something like a oiled pasta only instead of olive this one tasted more like palm. Though they serve quite a generous portion but the lack of Ajinomoto and other artificial flavouring which includes chicken taste artificial flavour that gives you the illusion of having a bihun goreng special meal truly dampens this oily red stained lunch meal.

However not all is lost, the aftertaste of oily bland bihun goes quite well once it is complemented with a healthy dose of Kickapoo, truly the fusion of oil and carbonated sugary coloured drink quenches the simplistic tastebuds.

For those who would prefer some extra fusion in the meal one has the option to pick and choose one of the various side orders that is available through the Penang Nasi Kandar buffet. From yesterday’s yellowish lettuce to refried cold chicken you can add some tinge in your otherwise very bland meal.

For dessert J shamsul choosed a fine Black Devul tobacco cut rollies and after the mixture of nicotine and tar that gives the effect of tongue numbing and feel good sensation on the brain it all went well. So yes if you’re interested in having a taste of this fine leathery wet oiled bihun goreng do drop by to the mamak stall beside orange cyber cafe in front of the school near carrefour the one beside shell.

Anyway Proton has been hitting the high notes recently with the rally win in Sweden and it seems that creativity is descending once again into the company. For months talks surfaced amongst the intelligensia that Proton may opt for partnership with various car companies but to date none of them has materialised. It’s good to see that the maturity of wireless and Wimax (yes YES 4G is Wimax) coming to age here in Malaysia and that collaboration like this is the way to go in terms of realising the potential of a seamless wide coverage of the Internet.

Theoretically Wimax has an advantage when it comes to HSDPA in terms data transmission during in mobility but it like all things in life, theoretically it may be sound yet things may differ quite significantly in terms of implementation. Another issue would be coverage as YES, though it has a reputation of delivering high speed data network, seems to fall short in terms of coverage.

Still no concrete announcement was made in that event, it was merely informing the public about the collaboration and it seems that they’re holding back the big announcement. let’s just wait and see for now.

It provides a physical interface enabling kiss communication for several applications facilitating intimate human tele-presence with the real and virtual worlds” I’m curious as to what other physical digital interface device they are coming up next and whether will it be intergrated with various applications like say a dating simulation game that *cough target adult *cough maturity audience.

I’m not sure as to how realistic it can be nor can I verify on it’s effectiveness of enhancing your long distance relationship, I highly doubt that, apart from the practicality of things I find it hard to imagine giving a passionate wet one to a robot that looks like a midget pig. Yes folks, the romours are rife and by the looks of it this may be true. Picture above taken on Bukit Bintang and indeed there is a some sort of deal going on between these two. It would be interesting to see the concept and marketing point by which these two companies will try to sell to consumers.

Of course this is nothing new as the demand for mobile connectivity now soars with GPS, Map applications and various other mobile on the move app is becoming a more and more common feature while driving. Nonetheless let’s wait and see what Proton and YES are up to but like many things before, conceptual us one thing, the implementation however is a whole different ballgame.
