Hillbark Hotel Marquee Must Go

I think I’m correct in saying that a top Wirral wedding venue must take down it’s wedding marquee to meet a planning enforcement notice.

The dispute between the Hillbark Hotel in Royden Park, Frankby and Wirral Borough Council has been ongoing for some time. This pdf document (pdf reader needed) details the request for removal of the marquee back in October 2004.

I understand that an appeal by the owners of the venue has been unsuccessful and the marquee must be removed.

A recent poll by OnePoll suggests that the honeymoon period of a marriage is officially over after just two years, six months and 25 days. At this point in time of an average marriage both partners take their relationship completely for granted.

You’ll be more likely to:

leave your dirty undies and knickers lying around
husbands will start to leave the toilet seat up
husbands will own the TV remote control
54% of wives will stop applying makeup
66% of wives will never make an effort to dress-up

Couples Save By Having Winter Weddings

The Telegraph reports that to-be weds are saving their money in the midst of the credit crunch by avoiding a summer wedding and getting married during the winter.

The report suggests that venues and catering bills are as much as 50% cheaper than during the peak season in the summer. The report is backed by trading figures from high street store Debenhams – the chain saw 22% of it’s total annual wedding attire sales and hires in November and December of this year, compared to only 4% for the same period last year.

I haven’t confirmed this to be the case by phoning around a few popular Wirral wedding venues like Thornton Hough hotel, Leasowe Castle or The Kings Gap in Hoylake. I rather suspect you might be able to negotiate a deal though.

So, a drop in degrees C can also mean a big drop in pounds and pence too!
