Bites Tale : I am lovin' Tweeter more... To me it's a mean of getting the latest news / happening + knowing better of the people i 'm the fan of their blogs ... kinda.. ;)

Most tourists who visit Sabah will always bring some Rungus beads back home as their souvenir for loved ones.

I am not sure whether anyone of them or even us local noticed the man-like motif easily found on most of the beads. I only noticed that when i was at the Rungus Long House where the beads were being displayed for sale.

Stupidly i asked :"Mengapa kamu nak buat bunga Ultraman?" (Translation : "Why do you want to put the Ultraman design?")

The lady was laughing while she explain that the motif is not a new design, it was passed on since her ancestors time and the motif is actually represent their guardian who watch over them. I am ashamed on how ignorant i am to the native culture of where i was born.

But it is great to discover and learn more during our daily life, and i strongly agree that travelling will open your eyes and mind wider, but of course it is still up to us to decide whether we are interested to understand the different culture here.

This is what i encountered when i was in Singapore for work. When we tried to introduce Sabah / Kota Kinabalu as a destination worth to travel and a great place to discover the many unique native tribes we have here.... about 80% of the people will answer me :

"Sabah? KK? Alot of Mosquitoes... i am not interested to go!"

Now i wonder... there are no Mosquitoes in Singapore kah?

Bites Tale : Have been non-stop working and neglected my friends.... can't wait to catch up with everyone!!!

My colleague was the one who brought me here, a place where he highly recommend to anyone who wants to have fresh fish slice / prawn. He recommended a group of 22 guests here for breakfast, and all of them enjoyed the food very much. The "Must Try" here is Tom Yam Rice Vermicelli @ RM6 per bowl.

When i make the first sip of the Tom Yam soup, instantly i agree with him that this is better than the Tom Yam served at famous Wan Wan at Bundusan.

It's pepper spicy hot that triggers your taste bud and you couldn't stop eating until you finish the last piece.

Love that it is crispy and dried, not oily at all.

Established in 1987, Nishiki is the oldest Japanese Restaurant in Kota Kinabalu and still the best in town!

Took this at Chamang Waterfall, Bentong, Pahang.

Amazed by it.

The middle rows are the ones carries the food. While the 2 rows at the side are the ones protecting and guiding the ones bringing the food back.

Saw they fight with the bigger ants who want to steal some from them, some was "kidnapped" together with the food, some was saved.

And those who "sacrificed" were being carried back home by others who survived.

That makes life a wonderful one with everyone doing their role and supporting each other.

Went to KL for a 1 day working trip last week and have the opportunity to travel to Bentong, Pahang by car.

Purpose of Trip :

To visit the Chamang Waterfall
To find good food in Bentong

Do you know that Bentong is famous for its bean curd and homemade ice cream?

Pity that I didn't get to try both as time is too short. Reach Bentong at around 830pm and we went dinner at my friend's parents food outlet, then the next day went to Chamang Waterfall, lunch and drive back to KL airport for flight home.

After dinner, my friend brought us to this dessert / supper stall in the street where the locals love to go after their dinner.

These were what we had :

We dipped the kuih into the oat milk.

It's my first time to eat like that and I'm lovin' it!

Best Porridge in KK

At least to me...

This place is actually famous for its noodles + fish slice + homemade fish balls, but my only choice will be this whenever I go there!

Piping hot, smooth and delicious porridge reminds me of the Porridge I tried in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong... That's the best one I had tried todate and I still can't find any better ones except here at Kuo Man, Sunny Garden which is 80% similar to the one in Hong Kong.

Found this recently opened fast food outlet in KL.

My friend from Singapore got excited when he saw this, he said it's his favourite and there's only 1 outlet in Singapore - Changi Airport. He used to drive to airport during working days just to have the chicken and biscuit.

So we tried. And I wish there is a Popeyes now in KK!

If you've ran out of idea where to have your lunch next, why not head down to this cafe at Cititel Express Hotel?

There are lots of varieties for you to choose, like this Fish & Chip I ordered only cost RM8.90. Taste is good - bread crumbs are crispy, fish is fresh and not overly fried.

Will try their local specialities like Nasi Lemak and Nasi Goreng soon.

Bites Tale : Did you enjoyed your Chinese New Year holiday? I missed mine... and no, that is not a typo error .... ya, i meant "missed"... wish there will be a holiday soon for me! And for now, i think i am going to "pamper" myself again with buying something i like! ;)

If you are looking for a nice place to dine in, this is a good choice.

Delightful ambiance + nice food, what else you'd ask for? You can even go for a walk at the garden after your meal. But we didn't as we had to rush to the airport.

Price is on the high side probably because i keep thinking of the conversion... *shy shy

I remember when I was younger, mum loves to eat this sotong kering from a stall near the cathay cinema (now it's called cathay cineplex). Not sure where is the stall now.

Then recently, a lot of people I know rave about this sotong kering. But I never have the chance to taste it because my office is very far from Central Plaza and the stall closed at 8pm.

We had the chance to pass by this place yesterday. So we went to buy some. They sell by RM2, RM5 and above. There are 2 types of sotong - Kering and Basah. But the famous one is the dry one. Thumbs up when eat with the peanut sauce that comes with your purchase.

Bites Tale : They are selling Yam @ RM15 per Kg, so...o....o... expensive, and yet, so...o....o... hard to find. After 1 week + of looking for them, mum finally managed to get some and she told us :"I'm gonna make sure i am cooking the Yam Pork in good mood so that i won't spoil the cooking cos if anything went wrong, i need to look for Yam again." ------ Guess what? She bought 12kg of Yam. o_0

This is a nice place to meet up with friends after work.

Ice = Soft Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt

Fire = Burger, Sandwich, Hot Snacks etc!

I like the Yam Soft Ice Cream.

Do you know what is a bag organiser?

I love using a small bag whenever I'm not working. Due to work, I need a big bag carrying my 2 handphones, notebook, pens, calculator, name card holder, handphone battery charger, laptop battery charger, umbrella and etc.

I'm always frustrated with myself whenever I need to find something from my big handbag. And eventhough I have several bags to so-called intended to match with my outfits, but I'm always stucked with the same bag as it would be hell to change bags every alternate day or week.

Until I found this --- Bag Organiser from a seller at Low Yat Forum.

And now, my bag looks so tidy and the best part is, i can also keep the interior of the bag clean.

Bites Tale: I am in love with the new Bag Organiser i bought online. Will blog about it soon. :)

This is a new place to look for "Serve No Pork" Dim Sum and steamboat.

Opened just 1 month ago, Mr Kadir, its owner was generous to invite some of us to go for a food testing.

The food was good. A set of this cost RM48 which is enough for 2 - 3 persons. If you want to add more, they will count by weight.

The Dim Sum were nice too except that they are too soft. But the taste was very nice. Each basket is RM3.80 regardless of what you choose. At the moment, they serve Dim Sum from 8am.

And dun forget to order the ABC as your dessert! Real good!

I used to like the Japanese Ramee and the toast bread at Hong Kong Recipe, Warisan Square. Sad to say that they haven't really maintain the quality of their food, so we stopped visiting.

Went there again by chance as my cousin is meeting us there. This is the only dish that passed our taste buds. Though it will be better if it is not so sweet.
