The deadlines for two key decisions on implementing the Affordable Care Act are approaching in the next couple of months and Governor Mitch Daniels, whose time in office is nearing an end, says he wants the next governor to be involved. State Wants College Success Coalitions in More Counties

Specialty License Plates Scrutinized

StateImpact: Blended Schools

As the popularity of online courses has exploded nationwide, Indiana education officials have greenlighted plans to open schools that attempt to combine the best of computerized and classroom instruction. It’s a model known as ‘blended learning,’ and charter operators have already gotten the okay to build more than two-dozen schools in cities like Gary, Fort Wayne, South Bend, and Evansville in the next ten years alone. StateImpact Indiana’s Kyle Stokes visited one such ‘blended’ charter school in Indianapolis to see how it all works.
