With the release of Django 1.0 I have been dragging my feet in updating this blog. Actually, I’ve been dragging my feet on doing anything with this site. Other than removing spam comments, and occasionally checking Mint, I hardly visit my own site.

Part of this has been due to the amount of work I’ve had piled on my plate from work, and part of it is that I suck at blogging, and can never seem to keep a consistent schedule in my postings. I’m going to try to remedy all of these shortcomings in the very near future.

Be prepared for a lot of changes on this site, those few of you who actually follow it. Some posts may go missing, but that will only be temporary as I migrate data.

Refresh LA 2.0?

I’ve been seriously thinking about trying to get Refresh LA started again, but I’m a little apprehensive considering the utter failure that it was the last time. So I’m curious, who would be interested in giving it another try? Also, if you’re interested in it, would you be willing to help organize it, because I suck at organizing things, though I’m getting better at it.

Things that I see standing in my way of getting it started:

Need to register a new domain. RefreshLA.org is lost, but it appears I could register the .net extension of the same domain.
Need a place to hold the meetings. Ideally this venue should be fairly centrally located for the LA and OC areas.
Need help in organizing topics, getting potential speakers, and just getting the overall community to even be aware of the event, which I feel was the problem the last time that I tried it. There were a whole six of us that were regulars, and then other people drifted in and out fairly regularly.

So there you have it. What stands in the way of Refreshing LA a second time. Let me know in the comments if you’re interested, and/or willing to help.

Just a quick post for now, but I finally decided to start using this site again, so I’ve dusted off the blog, and will start making use of it again to talk about things. What I’m going to talk about, I’m not sure yet. Nor am I even sure how often I will be posting. I have a habit of going great for a little while, then slowly tapering off, so I can’t make any promises.

Re-architecting

wolfsREIGN is currently going through a re-architecture. Part of it is by choice, part of it was forced. While it is undergoing development things will change around the site. Some things will disappear, other things will show up that were never part of the site before.

Sorry for any inconveniences that this might cause.
