ACNM President's Message
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Thank you for the opportunity to serve as the ACNM President. At the ACNM Annual Meeting in Florida in January/February 2024 the mission statement of the ACNM underwent an iterative change, “To foster the highest standards of Nuclear Medicine through education, advocacy, and safety.” Clinical Nuclear Medicine is the official peer-reviewed journal of the American College of Nuclear Medicine and an important component of implementing our mission statement.
Our ACNM nuclear medicine resident organization (NMRO) has recently passed on the mantle of leadership. The newly elected team under NMRO president Bianca Radut has already started work on continuing and building on NMRO activities which include ACNM-NMRO webinars, the NMRO scintillator newsletter and mentorship opportunities. Membership in the NMRO is free and offers a great opportunity to explore leadership roles and a valuable pathway to work with colleagues across multiple centers.
This year the ACNM has formalized our participation in multi-organization guidelines and procedure standards through our new ACNM Procedure Guidelines Committee. Katherine Zukotynski and Gary Ulaner have worked hard to make this a reality during their presidencies and are both actively involved in the ongoing successful implementation of this initiative. Through this committee, an ACNM member in good standing can reach out to the committee for consideration to participate in procedure guidelines. Please do contact us if this interests you.
The ACNM is about passion. The achievements of the ACNM would not be possible without the involvement of ACNM members like you. We are constantly striving to improve the ACNM and our profession but this cannot be done without colleagues who are willing and able to put in the time and effort. If you would like to be actively involved in the growth of nuclear medicine I invite you to join us and be active. You are most welcome.
