Just recently, a friend and former colleague of mine died due to complications from fibroid operation. This has made it mandatory for me to share my personal experience and also share the experiences of other people who have been through this road in order for those coming behind to learn and take the right decisions.

MY STORY:

I got married about nine years ago and was so ignorant about the term, fibroid, so it came as a shock when I was told that what was growing in me was not a baby. They told me it was fibroid that was as big as a five month old pregnancy. I was shattered. I didn't know what next to do. Thank God for the wife of one of our church members who was a matron. She took up my case and I had to undergo an operation after trying all sort of drugs and herbs, many of which I have forgotten their names.

Life had not remained the same ever since because I have been trying to conceive ever since with no result (I am believing that God will answer my prayers soon).

TODAY:
These days, I hear a lot of women asking questions about this fibroid and would really like to help in my own little way. I have started doing my research and I will share my findings here and on my Facebook fan page, which I will share with you next week, God willing. I know that many people are in my shoes and would love you to share your experience too. We can draw strength from each other and lesson the burden in our hearts. We can also help those looking for answers.

Next week, I am going to the basics of this thing called fibroid. Please join me then.

Have a blessed week.

THE POWER OF THE MIND

Howdy,
I am sure we all believe that the mind is a powerful part of the human beign. I believe this strongly too but then I did not know that it could work for me (positively) after suffering from its negative blows.
You see, I used to have negative thoughts most times against my own wish and that made me loose a lot of good things. For example, in the past, whenever I take in (get pregnant), various negative thoughts used to flood my mind with imaginations of miscarriages. No matter how hard I tried, the thoughts won't go untill there's a miscarriage.
It was really hard for me until I came across a book which turned my life around.
I will share the lessons I got from the book and its name with you from tomorrow.
For today, I'll leave this words, "purge your mind of what you don't want and think only about what you want".
No need paraphrasing it, I will just download it the way it was written and at the end, tell you the name of the sweet person who sent it to me. Here it goes:

A woman has strengths that amaze men. She can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens. She holds happiness, love, and opinions. She smiles when she feels like crying, cries when she's happy and laughs when she is afraid. Her love is unconditional! There's only one thing wrong with her, she sometimes forgets what she is worth.

Isn't that a beautiful thing to behold first thing in the morning? Benjamine Wise is doing so great with this sauna thing and I think it will be good if we just knew the advantages of infrared saunas over the traditional ones. Let's here from him:

Infrared saunas do have a number of advantages versus traditional saunas. One advantage is that they operate at lower heat levels, which makes them more comfortable for some people to use.

In addition, they don't have to produce as much heat, so they're much more economical and efficient in their energy use. This makes them cheaper to operate than traditional saunas. They also heat up much more quickly than traditional saunas do.

Another advantage of infrared saunas is that traditional saunas create dry, hot air, and some people find this uncomfortable as compared to infrared saunas. Infrared saunas don't heat up the air to the same extent, so the air temperature inside the sauna remains roughly the same as it does outside.

Infrared saunas also don't use any water, so they're easier to both move and install. There's also no danger of bacteria building up with infrared saunas, because they don't use any water. Conventional saunas, on the other hand, do have this danger because they become damp from steam.

Infrared saunas us infrared heaters that focuses more so on heating the occupants rather than the air. Enthusiasts of infrared saunas say that they have greater health benefits. This is because the infrared heat penetrates deeper inside the body hence enabling the body to release more toxins in a shorter length of time.

This can help boost your immune system cleansing your body from the inside out. This can also have the added advantage of helping you lose weight by burning more calories.

To learn more about infrared saunas select one of the links provided.

http://www.all-about-saunas.com

Save 60% On Infrared saunas.

Learn more about the Far Infrared Sauna Benefits.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Benjamin_Wise

The Simple Benefits Of Infrared Saunas

Hi ladies,
I want you to take a look at what I found. Becoming classy means taking good care of our looks isn't it? Let us see what Benjamin Wise has to say about saunas. We shall be looking at all he has to say about infrared saunas for the next few days and after this we begin to talk about jewelries(the ladies' favorite). Enjoy your reading.

There are many benefits to using a sauna that most people are not aware of. Infrared saunas are by far the best types of saunas to use as you don't have to have a required area for an infrared heater.

There are some specific advantages for using infrared heat versus the regular steam heat saunas. An infrared heater is one that will warm your body the same way that sunlight does. Whereas a traditional steam sauna raises your body temperature by raising the temperature of the air at very high levels inside the sauna.

Traditional steam saunas can cause people to have breathing difficulty with the extremely warm air. Where an infrared sauna will heat the body instead of the air. This results are a lower power bill as well as deep tissue penetration resulting in a better sauna experience.

Any type of space can be used for an infrared sauna versus a steam sauna which has to have a space specifically built for it. This makes it both versatile and cost efficient. I would say that the biggest benefit that I experienced when using a infrared sauna was how much I actually sweat during the sauna session. I had beads of water dripping from my body even though the sauna was not that hot.

As a result of this I felt I got more use out of it and also since I like to read an infrared sauna works great because the air inside is not so hot.

To conclude between cost efficiency and experience I felt the infrared sauna provided the most benefits.

To learn more about infrared saunas select one of the links provided.

http://www.all-about-saunas.com

Save 60% On Infrared saunas.

Learn more about the Sauna Health.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Benjamin_Wise

BEAUTY TIP 4 - TRANSFORM YOUR BODY

Depending on the condition of your body, it can be transformed either through cosmetic surery and/or exercise. The symptoms associated with this process are caused by the unstable hormone levels that occur during this time. The symptoms can affect you on and off for up to ten years as the whole process of can last for this length of time, before the next phase known as menopause begins. How long a woman goes through this process is believed to depend on numerous factors, these include her general health, diet, prescription medications and genetic factors to name but a few.

When does premenopause occur? It can affect women at different ages, it is possible for a woman to begin going through menopause in her early thirties. It normally starts of with a woman's periods becoming irregular. If a woman does start to suffer from the symptoms of premenopause in her thirties, it is considered to be quite early.

So what are the symptoms? There are several symptoms that accompany this natural process. Two of the most common and discomforting symptoms are hot flashes and night sweats. During a womans body temperature suddenly rises and she may start sweating profusely. Night sweats are similar to hot flashes, however they occur during the night and can make it very difficult to get a good nights sleep.

Another symptom of menopause is restless leg syndrome, this is characterized by an itchy crawly sensation on the skin of the legs that makes the sufferer keep moving her legs. Evidently this is a horrible symptom of premenopause, and another one that disrupts sleep.

One of the symptoms most commonly associated with premenopause and menopause are mood swings. These are caused by the declining levels of estrogen. Other common symptoms include the thinning of hair, dizziness, temporary loss of balance, nausea and aching joints and muscles, unfortunately it doesn't stop there, the list goes on. If you are coming up to the age where premenopause kicks in there is some good news. Some women suffer from very few of the symptoms and you may be one of the lucky ones.

What treatment options are available? Well as mentioned earlier the symptoms of premenopause are believed to occur as result of the declining levels of estrogen, so most forms of treatment try to raise the levels of estrogen. The method of treatment one chooses depends on the individual. Some women take medication, whilst others undergo hormone therapy, a high percentage of women prefer to go the natural route because medication and hormone replacement therapy may have undesirable side effects. For example, HRT is believed to increase the risk of developing, Alzheimer's, stroke, heart disease and breast cancer. This is due to the use of synthetic hormones. However if you speak to your doctor he or she will be able to recommend various treatment options.

This article looked at the symptoms of premenopause, how it occurs, the symptoms and some of the treatment options.

For more information on menopause head over to http://www.menopausefactsonline.com where you can also find out about the mystery that is menopause night sweats and early menopause symptoms.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Samuel_Atkinson

The Anti-Soccer Mom By Kristin Hartshaffer

(From last time)

Take Back Control

All the chaos is not good for anyone in the family. With everyone going in different directions, it's impossible to live in accordance with your values. So you need to take back control. While it may not be easy at first, you need to cut back the kids' schedule. Likely they will be resistant, just be sure to explain to them why. When they begin to understand that you are doing this because you love them and actually want to be around them, you may be surprised what a positive impact that can make. Typically these kids are feeling pretty neglected and misunderstood anyway, but just don't know it. By slowing life down a little they will be getting the type of attention they have been missing dearly.

Once you've cut back on their schedule, then you need to fill the time with activities in line with your values. Here's a bullet list from the Anti-Soccer Mom:

~ Rearrange your life in order to have sit-down meals together.
~ Invest in some family board games like Cranium and make sure to carve out the time to play them.
~ Purchase a subscription to the USA Today, skim it, and debate current world topics at the dinner table. Make sure no opinion is "right", rather discuss values and ethics as it pertains to the subject.
~ Turn off the TV.
~ Play together - there's nothing better than heading to a park and tossing a football around.
~ Illustrate how to have a great marriage by living it.
~ Show them how to take care of their bodies by taking care of your own.

It's what we do every day that teaches our children how to live and love. Make sure your actions and messages are congruent with what you believe and want to teach.

And don't be afraid to be the Anti-Soccer Mom on your block. You might be surprised that they likely will envy your new and wonderful lifestyle.

See more articles from www.figureforlife.com!

http://www.figureforlife.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kristin_Hartshaffer

The Anti-Soccer Mom By Kristin Hartshaffer

Get up... take the kids to school... Starbucks venti skinny vanilla latte triple shot... go to work... first bite to eat at Noon... five-thirty... pick up kids... McDonald's fly by... drop one off at soccer practice... drop one off at football... back to pick up first from soccer... pick up second from football... home by 8:30... help kids with homework... snack... tuck kids in bed... collapse... oh - and who was that strange man in my bed I call my husband?

Sound familiar?

Today's society places great importance on how involved our kids are in sports and activities. Our children are so overscheduled now that families are completely torn apart. Mom is on one side of town watching one kid's game while Dad is at the other's. And if you have three, forget it! Fast food is the norm and the parents and kids are exhausted and disconnected.

Reasoning for such aggressive schedules is typically quite honorable, "I want my children to have the opportunities I didn't have."... "Sports teach discipline, hard work, and team work."... "They make great friends through their activities, friends they'll have for life." These are statements from parents who love their children and truly want the best for them. However, what is often overlooked is that the downside of heavy involvement in sports and other extracurricular activities may greatly outweigh the upside. Parents know they're tired, they know the kids are cranky, they know their marriage is lifeless, but due to today's societal pressures it would be considered cruel and unusual punishment to even consider cutting back on this crazy lifestyle and deprive their children. Friends will look down upon them and the children surely won't do as well as their peers who have spent countless hours on the soccer field and even more going through drive-thru's.

It has gotten so out of hand that one news reporter didn't even catch the hypocrisy when he said in one breath that "obesity in children is at an all time high" and then stated, "Sports involvement is also at an all time high which is a great way to battle the obesity epidemic." Is it too far of a stretch to believe that maybe one is actually responsible for the other? If we know that 80% of health is related to eating habits, and these kids' eating habits border on horrific, then wouldn't it be a logical conclusion that this crazy lifestyle may actually be causing obesity in kids? It's certainly something to consider.

But even beyond the obesity debate, there's the problem of the disconnected family. Most children today live in some sort of a split-parenting lifestyle due to the extremely high rate of divorce. So these kids are being shuffled from house to house and then shuffled even more when they are at those houses. The new definition of "family" is fuzzy at best and we exacerbate this when we split up the newly blended family (2nd or 3rd marriage) with everyone going in different directions.

While the kids have structure they have little down time just to be a kid and develop their wonderful ability to be imaginative. When they're not scheduled for something they often don't know what to do. The have little sense of family and what is truly important in life (family, love, relationships) as winning a game can be more important than visiting with grandparents not seen for six months. And they are learning that what should be the most important relationship in the family (between Mom and Dad) comes last on the list of priorities. And we wonder why the divorce rate is so high! On top of all that, how close can a parent really be with their child when they are watching them, not engaged with them. When there is no time to have deep conversations, they won't happen.

Soit's pretty easy to see how these activities can literally pull a family apart and drive us away from what is most important. Family time, having a close relationship with our spouse and children, and experiencing life to its fullest. These are typically the items at the top of everyone's priority list but wind up falling to the bottom in the soccer mom's reality lifestyle. That's where the Anti-Soccer Mom can make a difference...(to be continued).

See more articles from www.figureforlife.com!

http://www.figureforlife.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kristin_Hartshaffer

Say Something Nice and Make Them Feel Sexy.By Gigi Greene

Valentine is almost here and wouldn't it be nice to say something nice to people this season? It is one way of showing that you care and it gives away as a classy person, believe it or not. why not read what Gigi Greene has to say from her personal experience.

I love compliments. When someone compliments me, I instantly feel attractive and Sexy. One afternoon in Dallas, I was hurrying into Dillards to do some shoe shopping. Just as I was entering the store, a woman was passing me leaving. I smiled at her. I didn't know her, but I think because I was so excited about my hunt for shoes, I was in a good mood. Anyway, just after she passed by me, I heard someone talking and turned around wondering if maybe they were talking to me. It was her. The woman I just passed was walking towards me. As I made eye contact with her, she said, with emphasis on each word, "You look great."

Then I watched as she gestured with her hand, while saying, "From the top, to the bottom, your complete outfit, You, it's just great." I think I was in some state of shock. I didn't know this woman. Naturally, I liked hearing what she said, but I was skeptical. What were her motives? Then it hit me, and I smiled. What was I thinking? This was just a compliment. I giggled to myself and said, "thank you" feeling a little uncomfortable. She was talking a lot then, and I'm not even sure what else she said. To be honest, I was elated by the compliment from this complete stranger. As I calmed, I heard her apologize for stopping me, and I suddenly felt like I should respond, so I mumbled back, "No, it's okay." Then, wanting to make sure she knew how flattered I was and how much I appreciated what she said, I added, "That was really nice of you to say something," and I thanked her again. Yes, it was strange. I was totally surprised by her candor, but I liked everything she had said.

Although she stopped me, it was okay. I was still finding it hard to believe that she had taken time out of her busy day to say something nice to me. Not only did she notice something about somebody else; she was bold enough to approach me and say something. As we parted, I walked through the store with some sort of endorphin explosion inside. I bought a lot of shoes that day. I was feeling happy, and shopping was more fun than ever. Receiving a compliment feels incredibly good. Today, I would like to encourage you to take the time to compliment somebody you love. It's going to make them happy and the happier they are, the happier they'll want to make you. You don't have to go to the mall and walk up to a stranger. It's easier than that. Just look around the house. Here in the south, complimenting somebody, especially somebody you love, is a sure way to make them feel Sexy.

Gigi Greene
http://www.sexyinthesouth.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Gigi_Greene

Save Money Every Day By Making A Few Small Changes In Your Daily Life

You can save money easily by making a few small changes in your daily life. The money you save can be used for anything you choose, such as saving for your child's college education, investing for your own future or retirement, or just to have a nest egg you use in case of emergency. Here are some ways to save money every single day.

Make your lunch and take it to work with you or to wherever you are going for several hours during the day. Not only will you save money, but you will also have the exact food that you like to eat. It will probably also be healthier than what you would purchase by going out to eat.

Turn off your sprinklers and water your grass every couple of days. This will depend on the time of year and where you live, but you will save quite a bit of money by doing your own watering.

Buy a thermos and bring your own coffee with you. Spending several dollars every day on coffee and other designer beverages does not make sense if you are attempting to save money.

Resist the urge to buy shoes and clothing. Go through your closets and see what you already have before you buy anything new.

Get together with others and trade what you have for what you need. You can do this with friends, family and neighbors. You will be surprised at what kind of trades you can make, making it easier for you to save money.

These are just a few ways to save money. Look for other ways to cut corners and think about your money before you spend it. Also, look for ways to earn extra money, such as by making money online.

I invite you to join me for f'ree weekly teleseminars that will teach you how to write, market, and sell your ebook to make money from home by visiting http://www.EbookWritingandMarketingSecrets.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Connie_Ragen_Green

PLANNING A GIRL'S GETAWAY

What could be better than a "Mom's Night Out" when a bunch of women friends find a place to get away from everything and just let loose? This is the time to share ideas, commiserate about problems, or laugh for a while without worrying about waking the baby. Not much compares when it comes to recharging the mommy batteries, except maybe a "Girl's Getaway."

The great thing about getaways is that they don't have to elaborate or expensive. It all boils down to the idea that you and your friends get away from the normal routine and spend some time together without ordinary pressures. The less extravagant the outing, the more time you will have to spend together and to reconnect with others that are facing similar issues in life.

Call a hotel or resort and see if they offer group packages. Maybe they have a large suit that could accommodate your group and make the experience one big, long pajama party. You could bring along some ice breakers or other games in case the tempo slows down. But odds are pretty good that you and your pals will find plenty of things to keep your party going.

If you want to do something a bit more different, you could contact the local summer camps in your area. Many of them offer specials during the off season for group outings. You and your group could rent a cabin for a week and spend your time hiking, boating, and enjoying the great outdoors. Some of the camps might even provide programs that you could participate in together.

For those who have the luxury of not worrying about price, find a retreat center that can help each of you find your natural center once again. You can find a place that offers yoga, massage therapy, and many other treatments that will rejuvenate your body and mind.

Justifying the getaway can be easy enough when getting away just won't cut it. Plan a lesson or class for the time you are together. It could be on something as valuable as organization or a whimsical as cake decorating. Give everyone one more excuse for coming together.

The most important thing about planning a "Girl's Getaway" is to plan one. Start with a weekend and work your way up. Maybe it will just be a few in the beginning, but when others hear about your adventures then they will surely want to join in.

The article is provided by Low Fares. But let's be real...cite one study and I'll show you one that contradicts it. So who's right and who's wrong?

I'll let you in on a little secret, look in the mirror! The person looking back is the one who's right. Don't ever forget that.

Simply look at this social issue logically. You're the mother, the parent, and if you are part of a relationship, a wife or partner. From the moment your child was born, even though that precious little baby didn't come with an instruction booklet, he or she did come with a gift. The gift comes in the form of the innate sense that you have which tells YOU above anyone else, that you know what is best for your child. Parents, not psychologists, not CEO's, not educators or Phd's with the latest statistics know what your child needs.

Sure, when making a decision you should always perform due diligence. Parents should always weigh in both sides and gather information when contemplating the tough issues that affect their kids. But the good news is, with the advent of the internet and the vast amount of opportunities available to women and men to work from home, this choice may be more black and white than what all of the rhetoric has made out to be.

Remember when we talked about that "innate sense" that you have within you regarding your child? Guess what, no one has it for your baby like you. And your baby has a built in trust that you know just what she needs. Your Nanny or Day Care provider can perform a service and do their job, but your child NEEDs you. No amount of money can buy that built in voice that tells you what your son wants when he cries or what motivates your daughter to learn her alphabet. Mom knows, and she knows best! So stop undermining yourself and your ability to do right by your child.

The good news is, you can have both! You don't have to stop working to stay at home. Now, if you have an infant, then no one would expect you to just charge out there and start a business in between trying to remember your name from the lack of Z's that you've had lately. But when your baby develops a good sleep pattern and you can actually get on some type of schedule, staying home and working from home is a viable solution to this debate between stay at home moms vs. working mom's. And in the long run, the whole family will benefit.

Maybe you have a special skill or hobby that you can draw from to start a business. Perhaps you want to work online, or maybe work out of your home. Many moms are scared because they are afraid that if they give up their career, they will loose out on things like social security or re-entry into the work force when the kids are grown.

Look at the tax advantages of having a home based business, they are pretty appealing. You can also open an individual IRA, check with your financial institution about these types of options. Taking care of yourself means you are also taking care of your family.

Personally, the decision to walk away from an executive level job for my children to become a stay at home mom has not been without it's challenges. But now that they are 13, 11 and 9 I have begun to see the many rewards that came from that choice. Frankly, I can not begin to imagine missing out on their childhood and each and every moment that I could never get back if I would have went "away" to the office every day.

Are you in the process of deciding to be a stay at home mom? then check out these resources to help you make that decision. If you are looking for jobs for stay at home moms here are legitimate ways for moms to make money from home.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Janet_Brooks

Purse Selection Based On Womanly Needs and Lifestyles

As if picking the perfect purse wasn't already a taxing and overwhelming experience, we women also have to take careful, tedious consideration toward selecting a purse or handbag for multiple uses or occasions. And normally, picking just one purse that can be utilized for numerous purposes, suitable for multiple occasions and complimentary to various outfits is almost impossible. This makes any woman's life a bit crazy, merely because we need to have multiple purses to, well, simply live, but also maintain practicality and some sort of fashion sense.

Gaining perfection, or more so pin-pointing multifaceted usability in our purses and handbags is all encompassing, too much so at times. And this is where the frustration lies as the options seem endless. To fill in all the gaps and meet purse requirements is all too befuddling, but there are ways to organize your thoughts, confusions and inquiries.

Before actual purse purchasing you should know just what you're going to purchase. And in the least, you should know the types of purses you can buy so you can meet your varied lifestyle requirements. Here are five purse and/or handbag options to consider, mull through and research, taking into consideration to your specific situation:

A Tote Bag -
Commonly known as the standard 'carry bag,' this enlarged purse, of sorts, is used for toting purposes and proves as a practical option for busy mothers, but still maintains that casual and non-gym bag style look for all women on the run. This casualness helps with retaining a level of comfort in all locations and still provides functionality.

A Satchel -
These purses are over-the-shoulder types of handbags that are used for toting purposes, specifically work related. Working women will use these types of bags to tote important work items to and from wherever they travel. Think of these bags as a woman's version of a man's briefcase. Files, laptops, lunches and other work related odds and ends are stuffed in these bags to travel around. Satchels provide a great amount of room to stop a woman's worries of not being able to have enough room in a purse.

A Clutch -
This is a type of handbag used for minimal things and purposes. Minimal in the sense that only a few items can fit in a purse with no handles. Basically, what you can hold in one hand is what you can fit in your clutch. Ideally, this is used for evening outings where women can put all their essentials in one convenient and compact spot. Styles can range from casual to classy, based off tailoring and fabric types.

A Duffel -
This 'gym-bag' style purse is large and primarily used when traveling on holiday or business trips. Multiple and large compartments are built into these style bags so women can put traveling essentials away, such as: shoes, a travel wardrobe and various clunky beautification products. If you're a traveling woman with lots of items, a duffel is for you.

A Hobo -
Primarily crescent shaped, a hobo bag is meant to carry a good amount of lady essentials for women on the go. They're mostly shoulder strapped, with a casual and even work-style look at times, which can change based on fabric and tailoring style again.

Now that you are aware of the different types of purses and handbags, hopefully you'll be able to narrow down, which one -or few- would work with your style, but more significantly, your lifestyle. As already stated, it's almost impossible to select just one purse that proves universal for all our womanly needs and actions. But, this is positive for us women, in a way; now, we just have an excuse, more reason to purchase multiple purses for our versatile qualities.

After narrowing down your purse and handbag options, why not consider a classic over the shoulder bag? In particular, buxton bag has great over the shoulder bag choices.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=E.S._Cromwell

Stretch Marks - The Lines of a Beautiful Love Story By Cassandra George Sturges

After giving birth to my first child, I was devastated at how my body had changed. I was horrified when I looked in the mirror at my once perfect body, with firm pointy breasts, small waist, flat stomach and flawless, smooth skin. I couldn't believe that my breasts were etched with rivers of stretch marks and three times their previous size. My once taut stomach and thighs were now covered with stretch marks and giggled as I attempted to put on my panties. All I could think about was discarding my revealing, sexy, hot-momma clothes, and if I ever had sex again-at least the rapist would not be interested in seeing my marred body. I uncontrollably cried, as the nurse assured me that I was only experiencing postpartum depression. After months of adoring my beautiful baby, I realized that those lines told a wonderful story of how my body changed to adapt to the growing life inside of me. These lines were the beginning of a new chapter in my life.

One of the most ironic aspects of having a baby is that although my body had performed the ultimate epitome of womanhood, to supply the nourishment that allows a fetus to develop into a human being and give birth, I never felt more ugly, fat and unattractive. Many doctors and nurses describe the emotional changes that women go through after childbirth as postpartum depression. The Oxford Medical Dictionary describes postpartum depression as, "An emotional psychiatric conditions that occurs after childbirth. It is characterized by symptoms that range from mild to intense, suicidal depressive psychosis."

I don't have a medical background, but I believe that postpartum depression is partially caused by the mass media that constantly bankrupts a woman's self-esteem and self-worth with advertisements that promote cosmetic surgery and anti-aging products. It is very difficult for the average woman to accept, love and value herself in a society that continuously bombards her with messages of being inadequate and not-beautiful-enough to be a valued member of society. The nurse insisted that I was experiencing a hormonal imbalance, but I knew why I was depressed. I was sad because I knew that my life would never be the same. Yes, for the most part, being a new mother is a joyous occasion, but many things about my lifestyle would change forever.

The physical changes during and after my pregnancy forced me to look at my body with a totally new perspective; mother nature rudely informed me that my breasts were not only for sexual pleasure, especially when my breasts were filled with milk and began to ache. Let's not even begin to think about the vaginal stitches after childbirth (episiotomy). The essence of my feminine body was directly connected with nature-the continuation of life. My body provided the tunnel of which life flowed into the physical world. I realized that for me, sex was not just an act of love, affection, or pure romantic pleasure; but that my body could bring to fruition the essence of two human beings. And although, my husband could walk away from our love, our life and our baby, I could not. My body not only provided the avenue, but the foundation that would provide all of the necessities to sustain the life of our child.

In spite of the fact that I was proud of my body's ability to give birth, after the pregnancy was over, I didn't want any visible signs on my body that indicated to me or others that a developing life was once inside of my belly. For some reason, in the American culture, women brag about not physically looking as if we ever had a baby. I remember thinking once that the ultimate compliment that I received was from a teenage girl who said to me, "You don't look like a mother." It's funny how we accept hickeys (passion marks) to symbolize physical desire from our mate, and let's be honest, are hickeys really physically attractive? Sororities and fraternities brand their members as a symbol of unity. Solders are proud of their battle wounds. Unfortunately, most women want to erase any signs of ever being pregnant or giving birth.

Biologically speaking, the female body was designed to nurture and carry babies. During the process, for many women, this means weight gain, stretch marks, sagging breasts and yes! - You guessed it-a big stomach. This is the physical reality for most pregnant women. For many women these physical changes remain for an unspecified amount of time after the birth of their baby. The mass media does not glorify the authentic beauty that resonates from the average woman who cook, clean, and provide for their families. Unlike the supermodels and playboy bunnies, it does not celebrate the portrait of the genuine beauty of a woman's body that is sculpted with stretch marks, soft generous hips and thighs, dimples and love handles.

I guess you are wondering how does stretch marks have anything to do with the media's portrayal of women. Well, before the birth of my first child, unknowingly my perception of my self-worth was based on my physical appearance. I prided myself for being able to wear revealing summer clothes, have a flat stomach and going bra-less. I was no Cover Girl, but I felt that I held my own. Even though I was a college student, most of the compliments that I received were about my physical appearance. No one ever complimented me on being intelligent, compassionate or being a good person. Upon embracing my new role and identity as a mother, I remember looking at my infant son thinking, "I can't believe that this perfectly beautiful baby came from inside of me." I then began to understand that the stretch marks on my breasts and belly were symbolic of my femininity, strength and inner beauty. Now when I read those pretty, wiggly lines they say: "You are beautiful and God has blessed your body as a vessel to the journey of life."
Dr. Cassandra George Sturges MA, MA, is a mother of two teenagers, a full-time psychology instructor, advice columnists for Today's Black Woman Magazine, Seminar facilitator, author of "A Woman's Soul on Paper" ISBN: 0595171435; The Illusion of Beauty: Why Women Hate Themselves & Envy Other Women; Men Interviewed Tell: 101 Things Women do to Turn Men Off; Success & Beauty is an Attitude: A Woman's Guide to Academic and Life achievement. It may be because they’ve had a scary experience in the past maybe the hairdresser cut the hair wrong, the hairdresser didn’t do what the client told them too, wrong colour or even an allergic reaction to the bleach or colour.

Whatever your reasons I have 10 steps in which I hope will help you get over your phobia of visiting a hair salon:

1. Only go to reputable salons – a recommendation by a friend or family member is always a good start

2. If you’re having colour on your hair insist on a skin test – a skin test is when a small amount of bleach or colorant is placed on your skin to see if you have a reaction, a reaction can be itching, blistering and or redness. A skin test is done at least a week before any hair appointment.

3. Tell the hairdresser exactly what style you want – if you have an idea what you want your hair to look like and have a picture take it to the hairdressers with you this will not only put your mind at rest but will help the hairdresser too.

4. Tell the hairdresser what you don’t want – if you don’t like one particular style tell the hairdresser, if you go into a hairdressers and say do anything you feel would look good but you hate one particular style, make sure u tell them.

5. If you want 1 or 2 inches off your hair and that’s all tell them – if you’ve gone to the hairdressers just to have an inch or tow off your hair tell the hairdresser that’s all you want doing. Don’t let the hairdresser sway your decision.

6. Choose a hairdresser you get on with – in a hair salon there’s always more than one stylist so choose one you like and can get on with, it will then be easier for you to talk to them telling them what you specifically want from your hair.

7. If your really nervous book with senior stylist – senior stylists in a hair salon are stylists with more experience. They will cost more money but will listen to your every need and make sure your happy with your cut and or colour.

8. Only want your hair done but bombarded with extras available – most hair salons now offer not only hair services but nail treatments, tanning, make-up services etc. if you don’t want any of these offered to you just make it clear in a nice manner you’ve come to have your hair done that’s all thank you.

9. Sacred what the colour will look like – if you want to change your hair colour, the best way is to start with 1 or 2 shades either lighter or darker of your normal hair colour. Don’t go from blonde to dark brown or dark brown to bright blonde, you need to do it gradually.

10. Go for a consultation before you book – if your still unsure why not book a consultation with the hairdresser of your choice and tell them exactly how you feel, if you’re scared explain why. They will then give you advice on what styles and colours would suit you, then you can give it a think before your actual appointment.Designing Your Own Jewelry By Nicole Lindsey

Many consumers are catching on to the notion that designing their own jewelry is not such a bad idea after all. There are varying reasons in which consumers may choose to create their own jewelry instead of purchasing it ready made. Some of these reasons include therapy, for sell, gifting, and to cut costs. Depending on the style of jewelry that a buyer is need of, the cost may not be as affordable as one may have expected. Casual, costume, personalized, and Swarovski bridal jewelry are just a few of the many styles of jewelry that can be created in the comforts of your home. Let’s explore the pros and cons of handmade jewelry.

Therapy
In recent years, researchers have found that designing jewelry has therapeutic properties. This is a great exercise for someone that is looking for a leisure hobby. It is true that in many ways creating your own jewelry can be self-fulfilling and therapeutic, however, for a bride, designing her own Swarovski bridal jewelry may not agree with her time schedule. When it comes to wedding planning, time is of the essence, and the more that a bride can do to decrease her level of stress, the easier her trip down the wedding aisle will be.

For Selling
For those jewelry lovers that are looking for ways to make a little extra money, selling handmade jewelry will give them the best of both worlds. There is nothing more fulfilling than doing something that you enjoy and making money while doing it! When selling handmade jewelry, it is important to consider your competitors. Many consumers, brides in particular, are more apt to shop at a brick and mortar store or a more established online jewelry store. If you plan to sell handmade Swarovski bridal jewelry, then be aware that you have a lot of steep competition ahead of you.

Gifts
There is nothing more special than the thought behind a special gift. Making jewelry for your loved one is a wonderful gift idea for birthdays, Christmas, and weddings. A bride might consider designing her girlfriends wedding jewelry as a unique bridesmaids gift or she might solicit a dealer that specializes in handmade Swarovski bridal jewelry.

Cut Costs
While there are hundreds of jewelry kits on the market, Swarovski crystals have proven to be among the few that are considered to be of high quality. Not only do everyday consumers enjoy wearing Swarovski jewelry, but also Swarovski bridal jewelry is a number one pick for many brides. Although cutting costs is important for many brides, cutting time is equally as important. Like yourself, only better looking? Or do you want Halloween style makeup where makeup is painted on like a mask to hide your features?

If it is the former, the naturally pretty look you are after, well, this article is for you.

1. Moisturizer
Apply your daily moisturizer and let your skin soak it up. Go for one with SPF15 to give you the protection you need from the aging UV rays of the sun. Spread a tissue paper over your face to blot off the excess.

2. Concealer.
Do you really need a concealer? If your dark rings are really bad, a yellow toned concealer several shades lighter than your skin tone can lighten it a little. Just apply a little, blend it very well into your skin.

3. Foundation.
Pick a liquid foundation that suits your skin type. Clinique perfectly real foundation gives you a very natural, no makeup look while Clarins True Radiance Foundation had gold pigments that makes your skin seem to light up from within.

You can use a makeup sponge, a brush or your fingers to apply your foundation.

For the heaviest coverage, use your fingers. Dot foundation on forehead, nose, cheeks and chin and spread the foundation evenly with your fingers all over your face. Blend in the foundation as thoroughly as you can to avoid that streaky finish.

For more transparent coverage, use a makeup sponge. Soak the sponge in water and squeeze out all the excess water completely. When the sponge is damp but not wet (you can't wring out a single drop of water from it anymore) dot the foundation on the sponge. Squeeze it. Then paint your face with that sponge. Blend thoroughly into your skin for a natural and not freaky finish.

For the lightest coverage possible, for that no-makeup look that still leaves your skin gorgeous, put a little foundation on the back of your hand and pick it up with a brush. Paint that makeup onto your skin with the brush from the center of your face outwards. Blend thoroughly with the clean side of the brush.

Once your foundation is perfect, a touch of mascara on your lashes to open up the eyes and a slick of lip gloss on your lips for that kissable pout would complete your look.

Clarins True Radiance Foundation for a radiant glow or Clinique perfectly real makeup for a no-makeup perfectly made up look.
More makeup tips at http://www.cosmeticsonline.info/makeup.html

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Janice_Wee
