No, I have not abandoned this site. I actually have been itching to start posting videos again. I can't wait, actually. I've been sketching/theorizing some ideas. . . But right now its just not possible (its been chaotic, constantly moving, working random hours/days, living in 5 diffenrent places, with access to only what I can put into my suitcase and what my host owns). I apologize for the wait. Soon.

I just found a place in Brooklyn. So stay tuned! Check back in in the end of November/early December.

Sorry, no video, no pictures. No video because I have access to nothing right now. No photos because I've been so busy. This past month, I worked on the camera team of 5 different productions, all pretty diverse. A narrative on the Panavision HDW-F900, a narrative on the Panasonic HVX200, a documentary by Eric Chaikin (Word Wars), another narrative on S35 (moviecam), and a music video on the Arriflex 16 SR3. It makes me happy!

What's next? More AC work and, more importantly, a music video which I am shooting.

Road Trip 05.06

On May 19th, Paul, Rachael, Jo, Bob, and I left to go out west. We got to Los Angeles on May 23rd. Paul and I stayed in L.A. The rest went back east. I have uploaded a selected number of pictures from the roadtrip online through photobucket. Check them out!

This was my first music video shoot. Ted Passon was the director. Sweartheart the band. The videographer could only stay for the beginning of the day, so you will all miss the party scene. . . but its still worth seeing.

During the fall of 2005, me and a friend decided to have a little experiment. We rented a 16mm bolex and shot color reversal film. We then cross-processed it (developed it like it was negative stock). We had a lot of fun shooting the 100 feet (it was like we were freshman all over again). Here is a short edited sequence over some music by the lovely Joanna Newsom!

Another night shoot . . . but this time it was interesting. I was the director of photography, Aaron Leichter was the director, and the film is called Good Morning, Roscoe.

In the last post I mentioned that I was the line producer for this film The Deli. A line producer is someone who supervises the budget, oversees production, and works with the director to get them what they want. I really didn't do that but what I did do was help a little bit with the budget, I handled parking, transportation, equipment issues, craft services, catering, and was the 'producer' on set that handled communication with the location. I also made sure crazy fans that thought we were Rocky Balboa didn't interrupt the shoot (there were many who thought so, as we were shooting in South Philly at the same time as them . . .). All that said, during production, this all took about 1hr total of my time. What did I do the rest of the time? Well, someone needed to stay outside and watch the equipment. I did, by myself most of the time, in the cold, from 9ish to 4:30a. How did I stay up? Watch and find out.

I just spent the last two weekends working on this short student film called The Deli (Dir. Melanie Crescenz). As the line producer, I spent most of my time outside, watching equipment, taking care of parking, etc. But I managed to capture a little bit of the action inside. Here's a little bit about the sound department.
