1. Tape
Perfect your cat eye by pressing a strip of tape onto your eye before you start putting on make-up. If you use primer, apply that before you press the tape onto your eye. All the eye make-up you put on the tape will be removed with the tape, giving you a neat and sharp winged eye. You can also use tape to remove excess glitter.



2. Business card
You can use the business card the same way as the tape, as shown on the photo. Another option is to place the card above your eye, between the tips of your lashes and your brow. That way you’ll avoid getting mascara smudges underneath your eyebrow when you apply your mascara.



3. Envelope
It’s a pretty extreme look, but we like it. Use a big brush to apply blush to your cheeks, while holding the envelop in a line from your lips to the middle of your ear. It creates a very sharp line, for a very dramatic effect. High fashion!

How about Istanbul, Turkey? Womens9 intern Mariëlle lived in Istanbul for almost 5 months, so she knows the city well. Previously she wrote about the disadvantages of Istanbul. Now it’s time for the upsides of Istanbul: drinks for free.


With the right skills you can drink for free in the clubs during your entire stay. The only requirement is that you have to be blond (it doesn’t have to be natural) or tall. And a woman, of course.



We lived in Istanbul with three girls. Two of us are very blond. The third girl is really tall. We heard stories about clubs who want lure the tourists with free shots. An idea was born: we would drink every first free shot and then go to the next club for more free shots. But we never made it past the first shot in the first club: the owner of the club asked us if we wanted to stay the whole night if we would get a bottle of vodka. Our reaction: 'The entire night? No way! The deal is oké if we can go if the bottle is finished'. That was oké.

They liked the deal. The next time we came, they set up the best table for us so we had the best spot. We received vodka, Red Bull and snacks. All for free. We didn’t have to pay a dime when we left. The next time the same thing happened, and the next time, and the next time. We tried the same trick in other clubs. Strangely they accepted it! During our entire stay we could go to clubs for free. Our friends were allowed to drink with us (for free) as well. We even got an offer to go into one club every night, with free drinks every night of the week. But that was too much. Once a week was enough.
