The Million Dollar Joomla! is still in the race

Past Saturday the first live television show for the Million Dollar Wedding my niece is competing for has happened and they are going to the next round.

From the 4000 people that tried to get passed the intakes only 7 are still in the race and from that 7 at least one site is a Joomla! site. You can visit the site at sander and jessica

The site has generated over 5000 unique visitors in just a few weeks so we may have triggered some new people that never used Joomla! before.

Tim Berners-Lee Announces World Wide Web Foundation

I just found out about an interesting new initiative, 14 September 2008 The World Wide Web Foundation was launched by Tim Berners-Lee himself. Tim is the British computer scientist, who is credited with inventing the World Wide Web. You can read more about him on his wikipedia page.

The World Wide Web Foundation seeks to advance One Web that is free and open, to expand the Web's capability and robustness, and to extend the Web's benefits to all people on the planet. The Web Foundation brings together business leaders, technology innovators, academia, government, NGOs, and experts in many fields to tackle challenges that, like the Web, are global in scale.

Let's see what this initiative can do for all the web-users and still not web-users today and in the future.

The Million Dollar Wedding story continues

I wrote an article for Joomla! Community Magazine this month about setting up a Joomla! site with a custom template very fast. The article was the result of a question from my niece who needed a site up very fast because she and her to be husband are in the race for a Million Dollar Wedding.

I thought I'd give a small update about the status right now for the people interested. They are the couple with the most internet votes and have reached the last 8 couples in the race for the final price.

You can find the site I did for them on Sander and Jessica from Sexbierum.

Is my brain turning into a real computer?

Last night I was getting the kids ready for bed and one of the pajama shirts was inside out, at least that's what I thought. While putting my hands in the sleeves to turn it back the way it should be I noticed I had made a mistake because it was just fine to begin with.

Now, here's the thing... as soon as I noticed that it was alright my head softly whispered UNDO !!

Time for a little break I think. /me shakes head.

Looking back at the past few posts with a word cloud

I was just browsing around the web a bit after a crazy day full of visitors at the house for my youngest sons fifth birthday. Time fly's and I can't believe he's 5 already.

While browsing around I stumbled on wordle and thought that it would be nice look back at the past few blog posts by creating a nice word-cloud of the woof and warp main feed.

The start of woofing and warping

Today I start with an experiment to blog and to blog on the Joomla! platform. For some time I was thinking about setting a site where I could ventilate my thoughts, just ramble or offer information and other stuff to people that hopefully find it interesting.

This site will also be a personal testing and playground so you may see sudden changes overtime or maybe even errors when I'm doing something stupid again :-)

Well, happy reading if you do and I'll catch you later.. somewhere.
