The prevention of COVID-19

Ben Challum is probably the most famous of the Mamlorn Hills due to its easy access from the A82 in the west and also due to its fine summit ridges. It is usually climbed from Strath Fillan and is an undistinguished trudge from this direction until the final ridge, though the views are fine. A much more exciting ascent route is from the east in Glen Lochay via the eastern ridge as mentioned previously. This ridge offers some great scrambling opportunities with craggy outcrops.

Dresden, located in the east of Germany, is also called “Florence at the Elbe” thanks to its idyllic location on the banks of the river. Most of the city’s well-known historic landmarks are located in the Altstadt. Although 80 percent of Dresden’s historic center was destroyed in World War II, important landmarks have been rebuilt to their former splendor. The baroque Zwinger Palace boasts a picturesque courtyard, often filled with camera happy tourists. It was destroyed by the Allied raids, but restored in the 1960s. Dresden is truly a city of magnificent resurgence and exploring it by foot is the perfect way to get in touch with so many different aspects of the old, the new and the restored.

The Met Cloister in New York City

The Cloisters, a branch of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is devoted to the art and architecture of medieval Europe. The Cloisters is located on 4 acres in Manhattan’s Fort Tryon Park, overlooking the Hudson River. Opened in 1938, this modern structure built in modified medieval style incorporates elements of five medieval buildings dating from the 12th through the 15th centuries, including chapels, monastic abbeys and a chapter house. The permanent collection at the Cloisters includes more than 5,000 pieces of European art, dating from 800 to 1600 ce, with the 12th through the 15th centuries being strongly represented. The displays are primarily organized chronologically. The objects include sculptures, statuary, paintings, and stained-glass windows.

Tulip Festival at Hever Castle, Kent

The third Tulip Celebrations event as part of the Tulip Festival at Hever Castle & Gardens was bigger with 20,000 tulips in bloom in the stunning grounds of the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. Bulb master and holder of 25 coveted Chelsea gold medals, Johnny Walkers helped to select the tulip varieties at Hever Castle for 2019, with the express intention of extending the flowering season from early April through to mid May.

Imperial War Museum Duxford in Cambridge, England

Duxford airfield in Cambridgeshire was a Battle of Britain fighter station. During the Second World War it played a prominent role, and In keeping with the site’s history many of Duxford’s original buildings, such as hangars used during the Battle of Britain, are still in use. Now maintained by the Imperial War Museum, it has the finest collection of American aircraft outside the United States. It houses the largest collection of historic aircraft in Europe, ranging from WWI vintage biplanes to Spitfires, Concorde and Gulf War jets. Museum’s large exhibits, including nearly 300 aircraft, military vehicles, artillery and minor naval vessels in seven main exhibition buildings.

The whole region of Tuscany is a marvel of nature and full of historical heritage.Florence is the capital of the Toscana region, which you probably know of because of its world famous wine and beautiful landscapes. Florence is widely referred to as the “cradle of Renaissance” because of its architectural and cultural heritage, impressive signs of which can be found all over the place. It is located between Milan, Venice and Rome. Florence is rather small with its population of around 380.000. There is no way to cover all of Florence during a day trip! Your one day in Florence must start early in the morning and after all the tours and museums you can leave the city at night time. The trains are running almost until midnight. Another option is to sleep one night in Florence and enjoy a bit more of the city.

International Motorcycle Shows 2019 in Cleveland

Abandoned Mental Health Hospital Whitchurch in Cardiff

When Whitchurch Hospital opened in 1908, it was Cardiff’s largest mental health hospital. It had around 750 patients, where women who had children out of wedlock were housed and some schizophrenics were locked up indefinitely. The main hospital covered 5 acres and consisted of 10 wards, 5 for men and 5 women. Whitchurch Hospital finally closed its doors in April 2016. The building has been mostly derelict since closing down after more than 100 years of providing services to patients.

The Tongariro Alpine Crossing has been labeled as the world’s greatest single day hike. Lava flows, an active crater, steam vents, emerald-coloured lakes and magnificent views combine to make this an unforgettable walking journey. The 19.4km hike high into a volcanic alpine environment is a must-do in New Zealand but does require a bit of preparation. The weather can change quickly and unexpectedly in any alpine environment. At times conditions can be extreme. Be prepared for every type of weather. Tongariro National Park is a UNESCO dual World Heritage Area and was the first in the world to receive cultural World Heritage Status.

Mosetlha Bush Camp at Madikwe Game Reserve

Mosetlha Bush Camp is family owned and run, a rustic and intimate, unfenced bush camp nestling at the very heart of the magnificent Madikwe Game Reserve. The malaria free Madikwe is situated in North West Province, just a 3½ hours drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria, 1½ hours from Sun City and an easy half hour’s drive from Gaborone. Mosetlha was started in the early 1990s as a rustic camp with basic facilities, a place where rangers-in-training and other wilderness enthusiasts came to learn about wildlife conservation. An exclusive and unique wilderness experience is offered to a maximum of 16 people in nine double cabins. The wildlife is extensive and impressive.
