How and why was it conceived, and why do we call it a "dollar" or a "buck"? How did the dollar's early history help to shape today's world?

Before the Dollar

For the early colonists, currency was a bit of a free-for-all.

Officially, cash was denominated in pounds, shillings, and pence, but in reality things were a different story. Cash was often scarce, and colonists needed to be innovative to fulfill transactions. At various points in time, they used tobacco, beaver skins, and wampum in the place of money. Some colonies even tried to issue their own fiat currencies - many of which went bust.

The Revolution

During the American Revolution in 1775, the Continental Congress issued a money known as the Continental Currency to try and fund the war. The government printed too many, and the value of a Continental diminished rapidly.

Just five years later, after runaway inflation, the Continental was worth 2.5% of its face value. Benjamin Franklin rightly noted that the depreciation of the Continental had, in fact, acted as a tax to pay for the war. Holders of the currency - everyday people - were punished by losing massive amounts of buying power. Interestingly, this is where we get the phrase "Not worth a Continental".

Birth of the Dollar

The failure of the Continental Currency must have been top of mind during the writing of the Constitution. A clause was even added, under Article 1, Section 10, to make sure such a failure would never happen again. It was written that states were not permitted to "coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; [or] make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts."

And so, the Coinage Act of 1792 created the U.S. dollar as a standard unit of currency. The U.S. Mint was authorized to oversee coinage, and the Act also established a penalty of death for debasing coinage issued by the Mint.

The Almighty Buck

In the 19th Century, a new slang term emerged for the dollar.

Especially in the Great Lakes area, different amounts of money were equated with animal skins. One particular reference showed that in Ohio in 1851, the skin of a muskrat was worth $0.25, and that of a doe was worth $0.50. Meanwhile, the skin of a buck was equal to the "almighty dollar" - and hence, the word "buck" became synonymous with the U.S. dollar.

The Civil War

Leading up to the Civil War, private banks around the country issued their own paper currencies.

With 10,000 or so of these currencies in circulation as the war broke out, governments soon found it very cumbersome to try and pay debts with many different types of notes. As a result, the $10 Demand Note was the first official paper currency issued in 1861 by the government to help finance the war.

Tanker fire kills woman, razes buildings in Ibadan

• Six female church leaders die in fatal accident, buried in Kaduna

Tragedy struck yesterday in Ibadan when a tanker carrying diesel was involved in an accident. It burnt a woman, three vehicles and several buildings, including a church.

The truck, said to be carrying diesel to a filling station in Ologuneru area of Ibadan, had its tank detached while ascending a hill in Eleyele area of the ancient town, and rolled back to hit a car before exploding.

One of the affected buildings belongs to a former Commissioner for Environment in the state.Efforts by the rescue team comprising of men of the Department of State Security Services (DSS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to rescue the woman from the inferno was unsuccessful. She was burnt before recognition.

Many wept uncontrollably as her charred body was being pulled out from the wreckage of the tank. An eyewitness, who identified himself as Lekan, said the accident occurred around 12p.m.

He said the tanker was ascending the hill when the driver suddenly lost control. The truck was rolling down the hill when the tank detached from the body of the truck.

“The tank rolled over a wine-coloured Nissan Almera car behind it and caught fire immediately. The intensity of the fire made it difficult for people around to render any assistance to the woman, who was trapped in the car.”

He added that more than five houses were destroyed in the inferno, as the diesel flowed towards the Eleyele River, which is about 300 meters from the scene of the accident.

One of the destroyed properties was a church known as Save and Serve Ministry, which was lately rebuilt after a section of it was affected by the ongoing construction work on the Ologuneru road.

The driver of the truck said to be a young man, it was gathered fled the scene for fear of being lynched by angry sympathizers.Also, a Mazda car marked Lagos LSR 208 EJ, which was parked in the compound of the ex-commissioner’s residence was partly burnt.

The state’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the incident, said policemen had been sent to the accident scene.
Meanwhile, six national women leaders of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), have lost their lives in an auto crash in Kaduna, on their way back from the inauguration of the church in Kebbi State on Sunday.

The accident happened along Kajuru junction, Maraba Rido Kachi road in Chikun Local Council. They have however been buried. Mrs. Lydia Nuhu Idzi, who is the wife of former ERCC secretary general and vice chairman Sanga local council in Kaduna State, was one of the 13 people that were burnt beyond recognition.

The Federal Road Safety Corps’ (FRSC) Sector Head of Operations, Kaduna, Salish Galadunci, who confirmed the accident said: “The vehicles were trying to dodge a motorcyclist who was crossing the road when it collided with another oncoming car and immediately went up in flame, roasting about 13 of the 18 persons in a Toyota Hummer bus with number plate AKW 60 XA.

“The first vehicle in front which was on speed tried avoiding the Okada but instead ran into a ditch by the roadside and the other vehicle following, also rammed into the bus in front and there was fire. Eighteen persons were involved, while five persons got injured, 12 were dead burnt alive,” he said.

US Judge tells Uber to return Waymo files taken by engineer

Detroit - A federal judge's order that bars Uber from using technology taken by a star engineer before he left Waymo is bad news for Uber and likely will hurt the ride-hailing company's own self-driving research, according to legal experts.

The ruling by District Judge William Alsup in San Francisco Monday was mainly a victory for Waymo, the autonomous car unit spun off from Google.

Thousands of confidential files downloaded

Waymo showed "compelling evidence" that a former Waymo engineer named Anthony Levandowski downloaded thousands of confidential files before leaving the company, the order said. Levandowski set up his own firms, which then were sold to Uber for $680-million. Evidence showed that Levandowski and Uber planned the acquisitions before Levandowski left Waymo, Alsup's order said.

"He clearly believes that Levandowski is guilty as sin and that Uber hired him, knowing this full well," said John Coffee, a Columbia University law professor who specialises in white-collar crime and corporate governance. "He is ruling that some of this information is stolen (or "misappropriated") and in the long run that will likely have a devastating impact on Uber."

Uber fires back at Google spinoff in self-driving car case

Waymo sued Uber in February alleging that the ride-hailing company is using stolen self-driving technology to build its own autonomous cars. Monday's ruling prevents Uber from using the technology on a laser navigational tool called Lidar that robotic cars use to see what's around them.

Alsup wrote: "The bottom line is the evidence indicates that Uber hired Levandowski even though it knew or should have known that he possessed over 14 000 confidential Waymo files, at least some information from those files, if not the files themselves, has seeped into Uber's own Lidar development efforts." Uber was ordered to return all downloaded materials to Waymo by noon on May 31.

Sensitive material

Alsup ordered Uber to remove Levandowski from any role in Lidar, and that it stop him from copying or otherwise using the downloaded materials.

Waymo sought to shut down Uber's Lidar research that it says uses Waymo files and patented technology until the dispute is settled. But Alsup determined that Waymo's patent infringement theories were too weak to support such an order. The judge ruled that although it's hard to imagine that Levandowski "plundered Waymo's vault the way he did" with no intent to use the material, Waymo still fell short of showing that the trade secrets were used.

Uber said in a statement Monday (May 15) that it's pleased the court allowed it to continue the research, including its own Lidar innovations. "We look forward to moving toward trial and continuing to demonstrate that our technology has been built independently from the ground up," the statement said.

Google's self-driving car company escalates battle with Uber

Messages were left Monday for lawyers representing Levandowski and the companies he formed.

Waymo, which is part of Google parent Alphabet Inc., said it welcomed the order stopping Uber from using "stolen documents containing trade secrets."

The ruling, coupled with Alsup's order last week referring the case to federal prosecutors, signals that Alsup is leaning toward Waymo based on evidence thus far, said Carl Tobias, a law professor at the University of Richmond.

Alsup's order suggests there's evidence that Levandowski could face federal prosecution, and there's circumstantial evidence that Uber may have violated federal trade secret theft laws, said Barbara McQuade, a former US Attorney in Detroit who now is a law professor at the University of Michigan.

Federal law covers both the person who stole a trade secret and anyone who "receives, buys or possesses it, knowing the same to have been stolen," McQuade said.

A civil remedy may not be adequate in this case since Levandowski has invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination when questioned by Waymo attorneys, she said.

Case might go to trial

The high-stakes case now will proceed to evidence exchanges between both sides and will go to trial if not settled, Tobias said. That could take months or more than a year.

The ruling will hamper Uber's ability to develop a self-driving car more quickly than Waymo, Coffee said, but it's too early to say if Uber will be crippled by the ruling.

Levandowski formed Ottomotto, a self-driving vehicle startup, on Jan. 15, 2016. Twelve days later, he resigned from Waymo without any notice. The following August, Uber bought Ottomotto and hired Levandowski to lead its self-driving car efforts.

Waymo to join forces with Lyft

Last week Alsup took the rare step of referring the case to federal prosecutors for an investigation of possible criminal misconduct. The US Attorney's Office in San Francisco hasn't responded to requests for comment.

Also Monday, Waymo confirmed that it is teaming up to test autonomous vehicles with Lyft, Uber's main ride-hailing competitor, in a potential challenge to Uber.

TOKYO] The US dollar started the week on the defensive on Monday, after US economic data came in shy of expectations and another missile test by North Korea over the weekend underpinned the perceived safe-haven yen.

On Monday, North Korea said it had successfully conducted a newly developed mid-to-long range missile test on Sunday, supervised by leader Kim Jong Un and aimed at verifying the capability to carry a "large scale heavy nuclear warhead," according to the North's official KCNA news agency.

The North fired a ballistic missile that landed in the sea near Russia on Sunday in a launch that Washington called a message to South Korea, days after its new president took office pledging to engage Pyongyang in dialogue.

Knowing how to protect yourself from fraud is important. Fraudster uses clever schemes to defraud millions of people every year. They often combine new technology with old tricks to get people to send money or give out personal information.

So far the hackers have used emails to launch this type of attack, but with the widespread use of social media networks and smartphones with internet access, the types of attacking are multiplying.

Here are some practical tips to help you stay a step ahead

1. Spot imposters. Scammers often pretend to be someone you trust, like a government official, a family member, a charity, or a company you do business with. Don’t send money or give out personal information in response to an unexpected request — whether it comes as a text, a phone call, or an email.

2. Do online searches. Type a company or product name into your favorite search engine with words like “review,” “complaint” or “scam.” Or search for a phrase that describes your situation. ” You can even search for phone numbers to see if other people have reported them as scams.

3. Don't believe your caller ID. Technology makes it easy for scammers to fake caller ID information, so the name and number you see aren't always real. If someone calls asking for money or personal information, hang up. If you think the caller might be telling the truth, call back to a number you know is genuine.

4. Don't pay upfront for a promise. Someone might ask you to pay in advance for things like debt relief, credit and loan offers, mortgage assistance, or a job. They might even say you've won a prize, but first you have to pay taxes or fees. If you do, they will probably take the money and disappear.

5. Consider how you pay. Credit cards have significant fraud protection built in, but some payment methods don't. Recovering From A Hacked Website; Essential Tips

Its common place for your website to get hacked so don't think you're being singled out. The motivation behind hacking your website could be personal vendetta or some random dude just itching to test his skills. Your website getting hacked is just one occurrence, the choices you make from that moment are gravely important.

I've had a good number of bloggers approach me for help with their hacked websites. On questioning them about the steps they took shortly after, I couldn't help but scold them because they did even worse than the hacker did to their website. When you discover that your website has been hacked, you tend to feel angry, helpless and frustrated; especially when its defaced. The first thing that comes to mind would be to restore your most recent backup so your website can be up and running again. If this sounds like a good idea to you then think again because its a terrible idea.

First off, you need to ask yourself how the website was hacked. Restoring your most recent backup not only means you'll lose data (your most recent posts and comments) but also that you just deleted your chance to figure out how your website got hacked (and prevent a future occurrence) in the first place.

How did my website get hacked?

Whether your website is hosted (e.g on Blogger or Wordpress) or self-hosted (e.g Free or Paid hosting servers). There's a good chance it could get hacked. From my experience, having vulnerabilities in your scripts (or plugins) is one and using the same password on multiple accounts is another.

If you happen to use the same credentials on your website's Admin account as on accounts on other websites then one of them getting leaked automatically puts your website in danger. This is how Blogger and Adsense accounts often get hijacked.

Mistakes you might make when you discover your website has been hacked

Its going to be hard but you need to be calm. Reinstalling your website's software means you'll lose all your data (especially if you've not been backing up). Restoring your most recent backup too quickly means you'll lose your most recent posts and comments. Moving your website to a new (sub) domain without (htaccess tweaks) could be the end of your link juice because you'll not only end up with duplicate content, but will lose all ranking and link juice associated with your previous (sub) domain.

What's the first thing to do once my website is hacked?

First, you need to find out how it got hacked. If your website is hosted then chances are that your credentials were leaked and you first need to change your password (or regain access to your account). If you use a Free or Paid host then you'll want to:

Login to cPanel
Backup your files and databases in their presently hacked state then keep securely (for future reference
Find out your current IP address (there are several online tools for that)
Locate the htacess file in public_html
Input the following lines then save

order deny,allow

deny from all

allow from 12.34.567.890

* Replace 12.34.567.890 with your current IP address

This will block all access to your website (except you) so you can begin investigating. What you're looking for are strange files (shells) in your public_html (sort by date because they're usually recently created / uploaded files). You should also check your database for suspicious entries.

What you're able to find will tell you the nature of the exploit and how it might have occurred. You would also want to uninstall all plugins till the website is stable again. Consider asking an experienced webmaster or your host for help with scanning your website for shells & back doors. Once those are removed, you can then commence the never ending task of beefing up your website's security.

If the hacker had deleted any post you'd not backed up then you have Google cache to recover that post. Simply Google that post, then click the arrow in front of the link (in the Google Search result) and select Cached. Copy then recreate that post (ensure the url matches).

Don't forget, your number one defense against getting hacked is backing up your website regularly.

10 Tips to Put an End to Phishing Attacks

For those of you that don’t know, phishing is essentially the process of stealing a user’s confidential information, such as passwords, personal details, bank details etc, through deceptive practices.

Initially, emails were the primary method adopted by such individuals; however, with the growing popularity of social media networks and Smartphones, the various methods of attack have started to expand.

The most common phishing attack entails sending an unsolicited email to an end user, this email will usually contain a link to another website (such as PayPal or Facebook), however, when the user clicks on the link, unbeknownst to him/her they will be taken to a counterfeit site, where they will be asked to input their confidential details.

Other forms of phishing attacks are as follows:

SMS asking you to submit confidential information.
Hackers sending private messages to users on Facebook that contain a link to a counterfeit Facebook site.

With that said, below are 10 of the most effective ways of preventing phishing attacks.

1. Learn How to Identify Phishing Emails
There are a number of qualities that if one is aware of; they can use to identify such emails. These are the following:

The email will ask you to click on a link to go through to an official website. Most companies, especially those that retain sensitive data, will ask you to put the URL into the address box manually.
The email will make a claim that your membership or access to a particular service has expired, despite the fact that you do not have an account with that particular service.
The email address of the sender will have an unusual mix of characters and numbers in it.

2. Try to Minimize Link Clicking
There’s nothing wrong with you, when click on links on sites that you know and trust. However, clicking on links found in instant messages and unsolicited emails may not always be the best idea. The vast majority of phishing attacks comes through hyperlinks, which is why it’s important you’re cognizant of everything you click on. Try hovering over links before clicking on them, that way you can make sure it leads to where it’s supposed to.

3. Only Send Personal Information over the Phone or Secure Websites
When attempting to purchase or access a service over the internet, always look for a sign that the website is secure, such as the “https:”, where “s” standards for “secure”, rather than the typical “http:” websites.

You should also be aware of the many phone phishing scams out there. Never divulge any personal information over the phone, unless you were the one that initiated the phone call. You should also be doubly cautious when asked to phone a specific number in order to update your account details.

4. Regularly Check Your Online Accounts
If you haven’t visited an old account in a while, it’s quite possible that someone may have accessed it and could be doing all kinds of nasty things on it. This is why it’s very important you regularly check all your accounts and also get into the habit of regularly changing your passwords.

5. Be Wary Of Pop-Ups
Pop-ups appear on your screen masqueraded as legitimate components of the website you are on. But in many instances these pop-ups are in fact phishing scams. The best internet browsers have built in pop-up blockers, while others allow you to determine when to allow and when to disallow pop-ups. If one of these pop-ups happens to get through the pop-up blocker, it’s very important that you click on the “X” in the upper corner of the applet window, as opposed to clicking on any buttons within the pop-up ad itself.

6. Using Internet Security Software
There are hundreds of reasons why you want internet security software to be running on your computer. Many of these security applications have special signatures which are designed to protect your computer against phishing scams and the like. Just make sure you’re regularly updating it. New definitions are always being added to these applications, as hackers are constantly thinking up new ways of infiltrating your system.

7. Watch Out For Unsolicited Emails
Fraudulent emails are typically general in nature, unlike your authentic email, which will usually be accompanied with a reference number and some of your personal details. The vast majority of phishing emails use Dear Sir/Madam, as opposed to the user’s real name.

8. Be Careful When Opening and Downloading Files in Emails
It’s not uncommon for a user’s computer to be infected with a virus, Trojan, or worm, the moment they open an attachment from a solicited or unsolicited email. If you do decide to open an attachment in an email, make sure you have your security software enabled, that way, if it is a virus, it will be caught and quarantined.

9. Create a Complex Email Address
When you create a complex email address, it makes it considerably more difficult for hackers to auto-generate your email using their hacking tools. Such actions are then followed up with email spamming and targeting for other malicious activity. Although you want the email to be complex, you still want it to be something that you can easily remember. You want to combine numbers and letters together, you could also use numbers as a substitute for certain letters, such as the following h3llo@temp-mail.com.

10. Never Fill Your Personal Details into a Pop-Up
I’ve already written about the various pitfalls and risks in clicking on pop-ups. That said, not every pop-up is a potential phishing scam; many of them are pretty legitimate. That said, you should never part with your personal details when dealing with a pop-up as discernment between a legitimate and illegitimate one can be quite difficult.

How to Enable Missing Hibernate Mode in Windows 8, 8.1, and Windows 10 Power Menu

There is one common issue on windows 8, 8.1, and the new windows 10. The "Hibernate" option is disabled in the power menu. The power menu doesn't show Hibernate Option. It contains Sleep, Shutdown and Restart options only as shown in following screenshot:

Many windows 8/8.1 and 10 users are not aware that Hibernation Option is available in windows 8/8.1 and 10 because the option is hidden (Microsoft simply disabled it).
The Hibernate Option can be added back to power menu. To get the missing hibernate option back in Windows 8/8.1 and 10, just follow the simple steps below:

1. Windows 8 and 8.1 users. Press Windows + Wkey to open the settings search menu. Then search for Power Options and select.
2. Windows 10 users. Locate Search the web and Windows under system tray. Use it to search for Power Options and select.

2. At the left side, click on Choose what the power buttons do option, and a dialogue box would appear, then select Change settings that are currently unavailable option.

3. Now, scroll down to the Shutdown Settingsand you'll notice that "Hibernate" option is unchecked.

4. Check Hibernate box, then apply Save Changes.

That is it. The hibernation mode of your system will enable immediately and no more hidden in your windows 8, 8.1 and windows 10. So whenever you want to hibernate your System, simply press "Alt+F4" keys together as usual and you should see Hibernate Mode in the list displayed or move the Cursor to the upper-right corner of your Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 Screen on your System, then click on Settings => Power Option and you should see hibernation mode in the list as it show in the screenshot below:

Also Note: As you can see in the screenshot given in step 2, using the same screen you can remove "Lock" option which is shown when you click on your account picture at Start Screen or you can remove "Sleep" option from power menu.

've all been over zealous at some point deleting pictures and we've accidentally deleted the precious pictures, we've accidentally deleted a whole album of vacation pictures or maybe your child somehow got his grubby little hands on your smartphone and wiped your camera roll clean

When it comes to technology, there is always a way to recover lost items.

One thing to keep in mind, though, is that once you've deleted the pictures or other files, it is safe to not use your device until the data is recovered. When a picture is deleted, it is not deleted permanently, but rather it just opens up space for more data. Any operation on your device then—including taking photos—can generate new data and overwrite that space, which would make lost data unrecoverable.

Apple made photo-recovery easy with iOS 8, but when it comes to recovering deleted photos from Android phones and memory cards you'll need a little assistance from a third-party application. Though, some Android device now come with recovery features. E.g Gionee M6, when you delete a picture on that phone, it will be stored in a virtual memory space and after 7 days, it will then be permanently removed.

Whether you are using an iPhone or an Android phone, this guide will help you recover deleted photos from your devices.

To Recover Deleted Pictures on Android Device

There are various apps in the Google Play Store that will help you recover your lost data. You can try and experiment with several to see which one is better, but I will recommend app called DiskDigger, it's fast and easy to use.

DiskDigger is an application that helps you in recovering deleted and lost pictures from your Android devices.

DiskDigger photo recovery app is very simple to use and works even without your device being rooted. It can undelete and recover lost pictures from your SD card and internal memory. Although if you have a rooted device, the app will search all of your device’s memory for any trace at all of photos as well as videos. To use the app:

Open the DiskDigger app and tap "Start Basic Photo Scan", the screen will be populated with a list of most recent deleted files.
When you see the photo you want to recover simply select it and hit "Recover..." button at the top.
The app will then ask you where you want to save the photo and after you pick its destination your photo should appear back in your memory card or phone system.

To Recover Deleted Pictures on iPhone

Apple made it extremely easy to recover deleted photos in its latest OS.

This is how to do it:

Access your Photos App and go into your albums.
Scroll to the bottom and tap on "Recently Deleted."
In that photo folder you will find all the photos you have deleted within the last 30 days. To recover you simply have to tap the photo you want and press "Recover." You can also press "Delete" to get rid of that photo permanently.

NOTE: If there's a picture you were looking for that's older than 30 days, then you would have to either restore your phone using a saved backup on iTunes or used a third-party photo recovery app.

Chelsea playmaker, Eden Hazard, has admitted that after Chelsea’s expected Premier League title triumph, he will have one eye on the Ballon d’Or.

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo have won the prize between themselves for the last nine years. But Hazard believes it can be won by a player in England.

Ahead of Chelsea’s clash with West Brom on Friday night, where three points will crown them Premier League champions, Hazard says winning it is on his mind.

“I hope to win the Ballon d’Or one day,” Hazard told Sky Sports News.

“It’s in my mind. If I don’t, it won’t be a problem. I try to make a good career – the best I can – but I think some other players deserve to win it also.

“When Ronaldo and Messi retire, maybe it will be another couple of players like Neymar, Paulo Dybala or Antoine Griezmann, who knows? We will see. It’s not something I think too much about.

“Could I win it? If I play next season, we win the Champions League and I win the World Cup with Belgium, why not?

“In the last 10 years, the Ballon d’Or winners play in Spain, but it’s not automatic. If a player is better in England, he will win it.”

N125bn budget for National Assembly not enough – Reps member

member of the House of Representatives, Nicholas Ossai (Delta-PDP), has said that the N125 billion appropriated to the National Assembly is not adequate to carry out its functions effectively and efficiently.

Ossai made the assertion in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Abuja, insisting that the legislators need more funds to discharge their duties.
NAN reports that the National Assembly on Thursday published its 2017 budget of N125 billion, which was higher than the N115 billion approved in 2016.

Ossai, however, said that the additional N10 billion inserted in the budget would strengthen oversight functions by members of the National Assembly.

“This is necessary so that Nigerians will have the impact and value creation of what has been budgeted.
“Nigerians are not looking at that, we are looking at the National Assembly as 360 members of House of Representatives and 109 Senators; calculate it with the money that has been budgeted without looking at other aspects.

“We are not looking at other agencies under the National Assembly like the Public Complaints Commission, National Institute for Legislative Studies, the National Assembly Service Commission and supporting staff.

“The committees are carrying out national functions in line with Section 88 of the Constitution to expose corruption.
“That committees not only expose corruption, but block leakages; definitely, we need a lot of money to address these issues.

“To the best of my knowledge, that money is not enough to address the issues of carrying out the national functions of the national assembly,” Ossai claimed.
Meanwhile, a legislative aide told NAN on ground of anonymity that they were being owed Duty Travel Allowance (DTA) amounting to N1.3 billion.

“We have been owed since 2015 and the management informed us that the allowance was not captured in the 2016 budget.
“With this development, we are aware of what is appropriated for legislative aides in the 2017 budget, we are now sure the money is there and there will be no room for excuses anymore.

“The DTA for an individual is N75, 000 and about 3, 000 aides are being owed,” the aide said.
A breakdown of the 2017 estimates shows that N23.7 billion would go to personnel cost, N85.8 billion for overhead and N14. 9 billion to finance capital projects.
The National Assembly Management has N14.9 billion with the Senate taking N31.3 billion and the House of Representatives N49 billion, while the National Assembly Service Commission gets N2.4 billion.
The budget provides N9.6 billion for legislative aides, while the Senate Public Accounts Committee takes N118.9 million and that of Reps N142.7 million.

N12.5 billion has been earmarked for general services, N4.3 billion for the National Assembly Legislative Institute and N391.3 million was earmarked for service wide vote.

Coach Diego Simeone welcomes back Jose Maria Gimenez from injury, while Fernando Torres returns up front as Atletico Madrid attempt to overcome a 3-0 Champions League semi-final first-leg deficit against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Gimenez missed the first leg decided by Cristiano Ronaldo's hat-trick eight days ago due to a groin strain.
