What are Habitat Helpers?

Habitat Helpers are youth in our community that have a desire to attack the issue of
affordable housing in whatever ways they can. We offer individuals and groups a way to do “their small part” in helping the community at large. We welcome help from all walks of life, and that includes those who take small steps!

Ways You Can Help

Advocate Educate and raise awareness about housing in your school and community.

• Do an art project with an elementary
school, make a habitat poster, or start a
letter writing campaign.

Fundraiser – Collect money and donations to support Habitat

Host a dance, sporting event, car wash or bake sale to benefit Habitat.

Donations- Make checks payable to HFHBCNJ

Hands-On

Use your hands to make a difference

Build a bench, plant flowers or do a neighborhood clean up to benefit the neighborhoods where Habitat builds.

Do a craft project housing related that we can display and sell in our ReStore!

Make Lunch! Provide lunch to the work crew!

Volunteer in ReStore:15 yrs old+ or on Construction site: 16 yrs old+

Twin Oaks Community Services, formerly Family Service and Steininger Behavioral Care Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for adults, children and families throughout New Jersey. Twin Oaks provides over 100 behavioral health programs designed to meet the needs of our community with compassion.

Volunteers (18+) are needed in the following areas:
*Administration-clerical work (scanning, filing, data entry, etc.)
*Food Pantry-packing bags of food, organizing and stocking food and clothing donations, holding food and clothing drives, assisting with various drives (i.e., Operation Fill-A-Backpack, Turkey Drive, Holiday Giving Drive)
