While I know most of you are only looking forward to “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2″, there is also many new games coming out for PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, and PC. No matter what gaming console you have, there is most likely a game which you can find that will satisfy your needs. Make sure to give one of these new games a try.

The theatrical debut of “Avatar” will be premiering in theaters in about six weeks. This movie is James Cameron’s long-awaited return to the position in the director’s chair. Before this movie comes out, you will get a little taste of the action. “James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game” is currently in the works by Ubisoft Montreal and it will be released in early December which could be maybe a couple days or so before the “Avatar” movie releases. The game was tested out at a recent Ubi event in San Francisco. According to Phil Theobald the game was really nice and it was something you will want to play more than once. He said:

“At a crucial point, you are given a choice: do you continue to work with the RDA or will you turn against your fellow humans and help the Na’vi defend their home? Your decision affects which character you play as for the remainder of the game, and there are separate human and Na’vi stages and missions. For the full experience, you’ll want to play through Avatar at least twice to ensure that you’ve seen everything that it has to offer.”

This upcoming week does not have very much new downloadable content for the music games. Although this week does not have many new songs coming out, maybe  there is still something you will find that is right for you. Trilogies have started to become very popular in the video game world. A new game is about to become a trilogy. Disney Epic Mickey was not originally announced as becoming a three game anthology. However, the designer of the game, Warren Spector, told 1UP that he has already been thinking about the second and third games of the series. Apparently this is how he always designs games.

“I don’t do anything that isn’t extensible,” Warren Spector said. “And I will certainly feel like that I have not done my job if we can’t make other games in this world with these characters. In my head, I’ve got two more planned. In the business world of reality, those games have not approved, and who knows if we’ll ever see them. I had three games planned for Deus Ex, and you see where that got me.”

If Warren Spector’s plan for making Deus Ex into a trilogy worked, then I think that his current plan to make Disney Epic Mickey into a trilogy will work as well. While Epic Mickey is an only Wii exclusive right now, Spector said Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions were already in development.

Most music games release downloadable content pretty soon after the game is released. Activision has wasted no time in putting out their first mix pack for DJ Hero. However, the pack’s priced at $6 and it doesn’t let you download individual mixes over Xbox Live or PlayStation Network but you can on Wii.

The DJ Hero “Extended Mix Pack 01″ includes:

• “All Of Me” by 50 Cent featuring Mary J. Blige vs. “Radio Ga Ga” by Queen
• “DARE” by Gorillaz vs. “Can’t Truss It” Performed by Public Enemy

If the mixes were separated onto all of the consoles, the downloadable content would still consist of the price of $3 per mix. In contrast, for Guitar Hero 5, the individual song tracks are only priced at $2 each. When Activision was contacted, they would neither confirm nor deny this as the standard price for the future content.

“I cannot comment about future DJ Hero downloadable,” said the Guitar Hero public relations manager, Aaron Grant, in an e-mailed statement from this morning, “but for the DJ Hero downloadable content that has been announced, individual mixes will cost $3.”

There will be a ”David Guetta Mix Pack,” which will features three mixes. This mix pack will be released on November 24th.

To me, it seems like the prices are not set in stone. Make sure that if you think that $3 for each song is too much then you get your opinion heard.

On this day, nine years ago, the PlayStation 2 was “born”. Therefore, it is appropriate to say “Happy Birthday PS2!” This console, which was the champion of the previous console war is ancient in the video game world.

Sony reports that for every three households in the United States, there is one household that owns a PlayStation 2. There is a total of nearly 140 million people who own the system around the world. This makes it among the most successful game systems ever created. Games are even still being made for it. In case you missed this console in the last decade, you can pick up a PS2 SLim for the low price of $99. A great money saver is that you can get the PS2 games, which consists of more than 10,000 titles, for a very low price at used game retailers across the globe.
