Battle Royale vs The Hunger Games

This week’s episode features two films that have very similar plots, Battle Royale vs The Hunger Games. Both films are set in the not so distant future where the government pits groups of teens against each other in a death match. Battle Royale is a Japanese film that had came out in 2000, based on the book by Kōshun Takami. The Hunger Games came out in 2012 and is based on the young adult series by Suzanne Collins.

The Shawshank Redemption stars Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman, Bob Gunton, and Clancy Brown. The Green Mile stars Tom Hanks, Michael Clarke Duncan, David Morse, and Doug Hutchison.
