We’re excited to annouce the release of our newly redesigned website! In addition to a new look and feel, the new website offers the following features that will improve research and learning for the USC health sciences community.

Holiday Hours: Independence Day

Friday, July 3 – 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 4 – CLOSED.

Saying Goodbye to the Old Print System

The Norris Medical Library initiated a new printing system in February 2015. At that time, we continued to allow use of the old BLUE print cards so you had the opportunity to use up the value on those cards. As indicated then, we will completely stop use of the old BLUE cards as of June 30, 2015. From July 1, only USCards and the new Print/Copy cards may be used, and the BLUE cards will no longer function nor have any value.

Remember that you can add value to your USC ID card and use that to print!

Suggestion:
The extended hours start in May, but pharmacy students have 5 finals in the beginning of May (from the 1^st – 11^th) and some years it start at the end of April. If the library closes they have essentially nowhere to go. Whereas medical students have MDLs & their own cubicle 24 hours a day. So if the library’s hours were extended starting halfway through April, it would be very helpful. Medical students have exams in June, so it could be normal hours from May 11 – 24d or so if cost is an issue.

Summer Brings A Change in Reference Hours!

Summer is upon us! OK, not quite yet, but it is close! In an attempt to ramp up for fall orientation schedules and prepare for the launch of our new website, the Norris Medical Library is temporarily adjusting the reference desk hours. There will be no change to our chat service and phone reference service, available from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. M-F. Our reference desk hours are being shifted to on-call mornings (meaning a librarian is in the building and is ready to help, but you need to ask at any library service desk) from 9:00 – Noon, and staffing the reference desk from Noon – 5:00.

Chat and Phone Service: 9:00 – 5:00
On-Call Service: 9:00 – Noon
Reference Desk: Noon – 5:00
