Here’s How it Went

Wednesday evening, November 4, I was admitted to the hospital to be induced.

BP and my mom stayed and visited for a while. I sent them home so I could rest and BP could care for the boys. Rather unexpectedly, my plans of reading and sleeping were blown out of the water.

Contractions came on quickly and full blown labor began through the night. I feel silly admitting to this, after all, I was there to be induced into labor. And it was my third child. I just wasn’t expecting labor that quickly.

Stupid me.

The bed was horrible to sit in while breathing through contractions, so I asked for a birthing ball. There I sat and watched reruns of The Cosby Show while weathering contractions. That, my friends, was the only perk of labor (besides the actual baby.)

By 5:00am, contractions were 2 minutes apart and I was starting to panic because BP was not coming until 9:00, after he dropped the boys off at school.

Epidural was administered, I relaxed a little, and all was well.

Things went from fast to faster.

My knight in shining armor and my mom arrived around 9:15am and by 9:50, I was pushing.

Frog was born at 10:13am.

He was promptly placed on my chest so I could see the one who gave me all that heartburn for so many months. Seems as if the old wives tale holds true again.

And then Frog christened me with pee.

Thanks, Frog. It’s nice to meet you, too.

**I forgot to add earlier that after all we went through to get the initial RhoGam shot for this pregnancy, I DID have to get another one when Frog was born. ERRRR**

We had a doctor appointment today.

Baby is ready!

Mommy is not.

She is running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off trying to tie up loose ends.

Getting clothes together for Frick and Frack…

Arranging childcare for our days in the hospital…

Stocking the pantry and freezer…

Raising her blood pressure as she runs (for real…it was higher than it’s ever been today).

Umm…hello….NESTING?!?

Maybe the full moon tonight will kick things into gear.

If not, we’ll be admitted to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon.

More than likely, Baby Frog will arrive on Thursday.

Halloween 2009

It rained.

POURED rain.

It was hot.

It was humid.

But Ironman and Spiderman still conquered the world…

or at least Nini and Pops’ neighborhood.

Don’t they look miserable?

They really did have a great time.

For future reference:

parents should take the pictures BEFORE the kids trick-or-treat

in the sweltering heat and rain.

Will You Still Love Me?

It sounded so silly to hear him ask,

but I suppose it’s really weighing on his mind lately.

Frick has asked me several times

if I would still love him when the baby comes.

I admit I was a little dumbstruck that the thought entered his mind.

Both boys have been very loving to the belly, very excited when they tell people about the new brother they are going to have, and very animated about how they are going to teach him how to wrestle.

?!? Oh boy.

BUT…

in case we are still not clear…

the answer to your question, Frick, is

YES! YES!! YES!!!

I will love you AND your brother even though I may seem distracted…

I will love you AND your brother when it feels like I am not giving you as much attention as before…

I will love you AND your brother regardless of how many more children we have.

I already love you both so much my heart feels like it will burst.

Frog is joining our family soon and will be a wonderful asset.

But you guys were here first, making our family what it already is.

And it is awesome.

I have a list.

A list of things that need to be completed before Frog arrives.

Things like:

–freezing meals (I do have some frozen).

–washing baby clothes and linens (done).

–packing a bag (almost done).

–getting pictures taken of the pregnant lady and her two kids (done).

–getting haircuts and highlights (Which, coincidentally, were done the week after these photos were taken. Oh well.)

–getting through this week of FOUR field trips to the Pumpkin Patch (Frack’s and my 3K class were today, my 4K class is tomorrow and Frick’s is Thursday. We are halfway there).

–attending my children’s Halloween parties–and my own 3K/4K class parties on Thursday and Friday.

–enjoying the last Halloween of being a mom-of-2-boys.

In an effort to mark an item off the list, my talented friend, Dana, took these in our front yard.

Is it me or does it look like Frack is punching Frick in the back?

I think he was.

History Repeats Itself?

Clemson played at #8 Miami.

That night, a very pregnant me went in to labor with Frick after the Tigers beat the Hurricanes in overtime.

TONIGHT

my Tigers played at #10 Miami

and beat the Hurricanes in overtime.

This time I was ready to knock the teeth out of the bartender at Chili’s because he turned the channel just before overtime started.

DON’T MESS WITH THE PREGNANT CHICK.

She might go into labor!

I nap almost everyday when the boys nap.

I am trying to clock in as much sleep while I can.

Today, Frick was in my bed with me.

Just before he fell asleep, he placed his hand on my face and said,

“I like spending time with you.”

*sigh*
