Pementasan pertama saya bersama The Jakarta Players akan dimulai malam ini. jam 8.

The Jakarta Players adalah sebuah komunitas pecinta seni panggung non-profit yang memang fokus pada kecintaan pada teater itu sendiri. Tapi ya, kalau mau nonton pertunjukan tetap harus bayar :p

Setiap 50 juta dari yang kami hasilkan dari pertunjukan ini, yang akan berlangsung hingga minggu, February 20, nanti akan disumbangkan ke Habitats for humanity yang akan menyiapkan rumah layak huni buat mereka yang membutuhkan.

Senang sekali, saya berkesempatan lagi untuk menyalurkan minat saya di bidang teater di Jakarta.

Pementasan kali ini diangkat dari sebuah kartun series terkenal dari Amerika Serikat tentang Snoopy. Pasti tau dong siapa dia? hehe…

Went to Loewy, a fine bar in Oakwood located around Mega Kuningan to meet a friend yesterday.

She was a close friend from Jogja. A warm woman, fun, loving, and full of life who always addressed herself as “Mbak’e” —or “she” in Javanese.

She just moved to Jakarta and work for an upcoming artist who steal everyone’s attention by his performance in a local talent show.

off from work i went back to my place, shower, and wear my dusty pink shirt to Loewy. Never been there before.

I love the ambiance of the place. a wonderful small bar. a really nice place to be after work.

She sat by the bar with other friends, i looked for her for a while, and when i saw her found out that she dressed up beautifully that evening.

we spent hours talking, laughing, and a bit jerking her tears when she remembered her faraway son in Germany.

I ordered cotton candy cosmopolitan. a slice of orange, vodka, a big chunk of cotton candy and …i dont know what kind of liquor that cute bartender added to the drink.love it…

When I am gone, what happened when I am gone?
I did not really aware, and I tried to not to aware, just shut my ears, eyes, and .. Simply any care of whatever that I used to care..
Things jumped pretty fast these days, I got a job, I live not far from where I work, and (still) dazzled about several things. I enjoyed the rain that colors the afternoon skies recently.
I read murders, politics, robberies, natural disasters, who will become the national police chief… Things that usually I ignored.
Where have I been? Not much, just disappearing, just enjoying my time alone, looking at new faces, enjoying and laughing at new jokes, watching theatre performance– again…
Where have I been? Ignorant.

i dropped myself to this cute blog about men’s fashion (http://selectism.com), and ended up reading Mila Kunis’ interview for the cover of Complex. one article to another and there she was, in a fabulous jimmy choo.

Mila was famous for her role in “That 70′s show” along with Ashton Kutcher. she provided voice talent for “the family guy” cartoon. and brought big laugh in Judd Appatow’s Forgetting Sarah Marshall. her latest appearance was in “date night” with Steve Carell and Tina Fey, and she stole my attention in “The Book of Eli” with Denzel Washington. she was hot there…

seldom an actress really stole my attention. so far, there were alexis bledel, zoe saldana, gemma atterton, and now…Mila Kunis.

found out that she has two different colors in her eyes. amazing, NOT? love her hair and that smokin look. she’s just too hot to be ignored… well, she’s not available, she’s dating that lucky Macaulay Culkin dude.

Mistaken identity

Just now i watched a TV show exploring and discussing some rare cases on a so called mistaken identity. most are suffering from a particular chromosomes compositions that made them ‘different.’

they were born male or female, but in the end, they were not actually those people. they are supposed to be someone else. in the same body.

now a man, was noted in birth transcript as a woman. he fought for his right, his sex, and his right to live the way he wanted for years. he fell in love with this woman. and everything went wrong. it broke my heart. his mute wife cried and begged for her parents to understand their love. she went on her knee, yelling, and crying. i broke a little tears myself.

its hard. its never easy. to be different. to be born different. to live different.

my first post since months. i tried to use WordPress application for Blackberry, but it failed me, so now i am posting again, right from my PC.

how many of you guys put your ears and eyes to enjoy any korean music lately? their dramas are invating many television networks around the world, including here in Indonesia. not only they have such a progressive drama, they also have good music there. some noteable artists are really good to hear, and to see. the development is fun to watch.

this one right here is from 2ne1. an all girls group. singing and dancing, as usual. and having a good style too. this one is from their latest hit single, “follow me” …

just a very nice dinner

Jakarta has countless number of restaurants. Small to big. Cheapest to the most expensive. Expanding from corner to corner of the city spread. Each offers their own taste, flavor, and unique-ness.
Yet, with those countless number of restaurants, I seldom found a restaurant which could really fullfill my … Cravings of taste. full? Yes, but the taste were just compromise-able. High price doesn’t guarantee good taste..
Once, I went to this japanese food resto with friends. I engaged my tasting sense to a very big bowl of tomyum serving with thick reddish soup that goes with it. Red it was, where shred of chillies float on the thick soup.
It was my first time there in the restaurant, so I didn’t expect much. My friend Renny had a dinner there once too, and she said the food there was good.
Me and him were out of options. We didn’t know where to have our dinner so we decided to give it a try.
And… It was GOOD… Surprisingly, very good…
We ordered three dishes. One of them is the one that I introduced already above..
The tomyum has shrimp, fish, mushroom, and ginger inside it. The soup tasted really fresh. Sour, spicy, and … Hot. The taste was just right. Not overrated. Sometimes, it is too hot, too salty, and too sour. But this one, again..every taste had their equal share…each of the taste stroke me at the same time..softly. I could savor each fresh taste of sour, hot, salt, and spice equally…
Minutes before I sat on the chair I was complaining all the times with my dizzy head, and felt like want to throw up..
But my first spoon of that amazing tomyum shifted that awful feeling to a continuous craving of that amazing tomyum. Note, best served when hot, of course…
Our second dish was a plate of sweet sauce fried chicken with cashew and dry chilli. Another great taste for our tongues and hungry stomache. The chicken was soft. I wonder how did they fry them. The sweet taste of the ketchup and seasoning was pretty obvious spread evenly inside every possible part of the chicken. Like the taste was originally there, and not added artificially, which was not, of course..
The cashew taste great. Sweet, salty, and a bit spicy due to the presence of shreded dried chilly..tops!
The last dish was baby kailan. You NEED vegy no matter what. The size was not so large. Enough for both of us. The green fresh baby kailan was cooked just about the right time that when we ate it, we could still taste that they did not over cooked it. You know you will hate overcooked vegy don’t you?
Our baby kailan was served on a long white plate covered with some not so thick sauce.
It tasted just right. I could feel the salt. The juicy fresh baby kailan when I chew them. And a bit of smok-ey taste covering the vegy. A very nice combination. Plus, that bitter like taste coming out from every vegy when you chew them still there!
When you overcooked the vegy, that kind of taste mostly will not remain, of course. Overcooked vegy would taste lame..and you won’t like it. And our baby kailan was giving us a satisfactory performance the first time we met them..
And finally, those amazing combination of tastes were closed and sealed with a subtle tasteless hot ocha. Just about right.
If you happen to be around blok M plaza, drop by at this wok and grill restaurant at the 6th floor. As their tagline says “best asian food” which of course, debatable..but, what’s wrong with trying new flavor, right?
Prove me wrong…

It comes to my realization, after several years, that some big cities are dwelled with people who are only available, or at least, start walking the streets when night falls.
And those kind of people are mostly the same, in every cities. The insoms, the hypes, the artsy people, and those who gaze for cutting edge risky life at dawn…
They start to buzz the crowd points after 6 in the afternoon, searching for crowd, and becoming a part of this crowd, the eventual mayhem..
They start with a light soiree, light drinks, cocktails in the dusk, dinner some place quit, and finally a sip of hot chocolate and hot tea to close the day..
They are not morning people. But some of them still can hit the morning tone when needed. Urgent call for morning classes, meetings, or flights..
In layers of life, this kind of people have their own treats..
The artsy, the rich who love artsy crowd, they buzz the hype corner for some high talks, that only their kind of people understand..a language that only them could deliver and accept..
The less-have, they usually don’t hang out late, cause their life start very early in the morning. Work their ass harder than anyone, work more than tweleve hours, yet still paid less than other people..
The unfortunate un-having, when most people succumb in their dreams, can be found in intersections of slum, or traffic lights in the city, begging for money. ..
The night people…

weekend madness

My star sign says I am a big spendor. I can’t save. Its kind of hard for me to even imagine that I have a bank account with some money inside that account. Some money to which my future can rely on. But, surprisingly, thank God, Jesus, I do have savings in Bank.
I am into new things, good things, gadget, colorful things, you name it. These mood of “into” things, secularism, object dependant, you name it, which mostly took most of my money from the bank that tries to make me at least…save a little bit.
Shoes. It is my biggest addiction, I guess. I am yet to have my own walk in closet filled with shoes. But I am kind of worried to realize that last month only I have bought 2 pairs already. Most of them are sneakers. I love sneakers. Especially leather made, and colorful ankle boots, by some sports brand. Like, Nike…
Well, weekend, in the city, especially, is as well another madness that could draw loads of money from my pocket.
Imagine this…
Friday afternoon to morning, the weekend starts. That would coffee, dinner, karaoke maybe, movie maybe..and some incidental shopping, or frozen yoghurt…50 to 60 dollars..
Saturday comes, mostly the routines are the same. And even started earlier. Unless you got so stoned from friday nights madness and woke up at 4 in saturday afternoon.
Another, latte, dinner, brownies or cupcakes, you can’t resist the temptation of a book sale in the corner (which makes you buy 5 books – cause they are on sale), another…movie, maybe, in a good movie theatre (and ticket price is high when the weekend comes)..after movie comes the supper, late nite snacks accompanied by light and tired talks in some food corner..
Sunday comes, usually, repeated again, unless… Unless… You decided to sleep all day long. Welcoming another busy week ahead that you decided to lay your flat or fat ass on the couch and watching endless dvd, such as the addictive “Glee” …(You can’t stop from watching the series from one disc to another, I am telling you…)…
And all those friday, saturday, sunday (if you are crazy enough…) …would cost you 150 dollars alone…ugghhhh.
Help me God, I love my weekends, but I am trying, note this God, avoiding madness in my weekend, I am trying…
