Not all of us are lucky enough to tour in buses. Sometimes a van is our mode of transportation. Each member may seek out a specific area or spot to call their own. Be mindful of the fact that the body chooses where it is most comfortable and allow people to gravitate to their own space. Respect the comforts of personal pillows, music devices, phones, etc. These are often the only connections to friends, family and the comforts of home.

Above all, keep the travel vehicle clean and in good repair. Clean the van twice a day. Have a quick inspection before leaving the parking lot, especially if you’re traveling across the desert or wide expanses during the night.  Keep paper towels and antiseptic gel close at hand. Understand vans can be carriers of germs and disease and work to keep them clean inside and out.

Care for your transportation as you would any other facet of your touring.

Advance Tickets for 2017 South Florida Crawfish Festival

Available Beginning Saturday, December 10

POMPANO BEACH, Fla.  (December 8, 2016) – Advance tickets for the 2017 South Florida Crawfish Festival, presented by CrawDebauchery, will go on sale starting Saturday, December 10, via www.crawdebauchery.com.

General admission tickets normally priced at $35 will be available for just $25 for a limited time, while VIP tickets normally priced at $75 will be available for $65 for a limited time. Additionally, there will be discounts offered for two-day tickets (both general admission and VIP).

“We hope folks take advantage of this terrific opportunity while it lasts,” said festival organizer Don Matthews. “Given the rising popularity of the festival, we anticipate tickets will be going real fast in the coming months.”

The fourth annual South Florida Crawfish Festival will take place April 1-2, at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater Field.

The popular New Orleans band “The Revivalists” will be the featured act. The group recently performed on The Today Show and The Ellen DeGeneres Show and is scheduled to perform on Conan on December 19.

The group is touring in support of its most recent album Men Amongst Mountains, which produced the hit single “Wish I Knew You.” The song reached number one on Billboard.com’s Adult Alternative chart and has now garnered over eight million streams on Spotify.

Among the other performers Matthews has booked include Maggie Koerner; Chubby Carrier; The Revelers; Roddie Romero & The Hub City All-Stars; Cha Wa featuring Mardi Gras Indians; Dwayne Dopsie; The Suitcase Junket; Raw Oyster Cult; The Hip Abduction; The Stooges Brass Band; Darcy Malone & The Tangle; and The Rodeo Clowns.

Carrier, The Revelers, as well as Roddie Romero & The Hub City All-Stars, will perform on both days of the festival.

In addition to New Orleans-style music and food, the festival will include a Gumbo Rumble, Krewe Competition, massive crawfish boil and art vendors.

On both days, the festival will position a hardwood Zydeco dance floor by one of the music stages for swing dancers. Additionally, there will be an area for kids complete with crawfish races, face painting and jugglers.

 POMPANO BEACH, Fla.  (November 2, 2016) – The 2017 South Florida Crawfish Festival, presented by CrawDebauchery, will offer a New Orleans-flavored performer lineup that will be sure to draw big crowds to the Pompano Beach Amphitheater Field over the April 1-2 weekend.

Koerner, a Shreveport, La.-born songwriter, will be making a return trip to Pompano Beach after staging a sizzling show at the 2016 festival. The former front-woman for the New Orleans funk-band Galactic, her CDs include, “Neutral Ground” (2013) and “Quarter Life” (2011).

Considered “the world’s premier Zydeco showman,” Carrier will also be returning to perform at the South Florida Crawfish Festival. He has recorded 10 CDs during his 22-year professional career. He and his band travel 150-175 days a year playing at various festivals around the world.

“Maggie and Chubby are certainly fan favorites,” said Matthews. “But, I believe our 2017 event will offer a diversified musical lineup that will appeal to everyone.”

Andrea is currently attending Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY, towards a Bachelor in Music Education, with an expected graduation date of May 2018. At the university, she’s currently participating in the chorale, chamber choirs, and the Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Andrea has been involved in music since middle school throughout high school, performing in shows, choirs, ensembles, and solos in her church. She also attended music theater camps while in high school, and was music director at her church for a Christmas program. Andrea has studied voice privately since middle school, piano since high school, and guitar on her own studies since middle school. Andrea has been teaching since 2016, and offers classical, Musical Theatre, pop, and most contemporary styles.
