<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) is a serious condition but has had a low profile. It&#8217;s significance has only benn recently reflected in NICE guidelines. This article reports on a Trust which has set up a PAD service lied by nurses and podiatrists. This service is cost-effective and ensures that patients are treated in the community, with referreals made to secondary care when appropriate. <p><strong>Fade skinny: </strong>This article reports on the programme of &#8216;ambitions&#8217; set up by NHS Midlands and East SHA to ensure high-quality care and patient safety. The first ambition of this programme, was to eliminate all grade 2, 3 and 4 pressure ulcers by December 2012.
