Kitchen make-over

I want you to imagine black microfiber cushions on a black, glossy metal frame because I forgot to take a before photo! I’m not 100% sold on the blue frame and cream microfiber cushion but we’ll see where it takes us. I may spray paint the frame white and do a light blue print for the cushions. What do you think?

My first attempt

I have been doing a lot of research and drooling over some Annie Sloan paint projects on Pinterest lately. Fortunately about 30 steps from my work is a supplier of Annie Sloan paints. Unfortunately they are only open Friday-Sunday so when I walked in to grab my white paint, clear wax and Antibes green sample color they were all out of white I wanted to paint our rather large kitchen table, chairs and benches to create a more airy feel in the kitchen. Thankfully I had a black side table from the living room that I had planned on painting in the green to start off small. I really enjoyed the paint but looking back I would have watered it down a bit to get more coverage as this paint is very thick. I wasn’t going for the chippy look but now I may sand a few areas down and let some of the dark color underneath come through. What do you think? Leave it as is or make it look a little chippy? Here are the before and after photos.

Whoaaa we’re half way there…20 WEEKS!

This Sunday marked a very big milestone for me, half way through my pregnancy. It feels like it has gone by so fast! Now with a protruding belly, the next 4-5 months I’m sure will be a challenge both physically and mentally as we prepare for our bundle of love.

I try and picture her all the time in my head…with my husband’s long lashes, my skin tone, his smile, my eye color and strawberry blonde curly hair. If she comes to us exactly the opposite we will love her all the same but it’s funny to try and wonder what traits she will pick up from you and what from your other half. And if what they say is true about heartburn and the amount of hair on your head, I imagine you coming out with a good 5 inches of hair on that little head of yours. Oh the heartburn and indigestion!

On another note, I’m starting to purchase some super cute, adorable girly girl props for my little one since I’m going to go crazy with her photos!!! Here are a couple things I have coming to me

18 Weeks-Boy? Girl?

GIRL! My husband was a little surprised, like every other man he was convinced he was having a little boy and BOY was he wrong! I tried to not think about it either way because I knew I would be happy no matter what we have. I did say at the beginning when we couldn’t decide on a boys name, that it would just be easier if we had a girl since we agreed on all the names we both liked. Now he will be a doting Dad to his Daughter and she will be a Daddy’s girl

I realized this morning and I know I’ve thought of it before but all the girls in my family, on my Mother and Father’s side were born first to all of my Aunts and Uncles. We have two more embryos frozen so I’m hoping one of them will be our future son so my husband’s family has a namesake.

Another amazing fact about females: did you know that by the time you are born you have all the eggs (about 1 million) you will ever release in your lifetime? How fascinating to know that the egg that created 0ur baby girl is as old as me, just waiting to become apart of this miracle.
