Microsoft released Windows 10  KB3081424 update as a general cumulative bug fix. Nothing was expected to majorly fail but to the surprise of users worldwide, the update turned their PCs into an endless loop cycle. The computer begins installing the update as normal, and suddenly the PC keeps restarting and restarting and restarting.The update is never installed successfully.

Needless to say, there is a lot of frustration from Windows 10 users. This is Microsoft’s first update since it released the OS back in late July.

UPDATE AND FIX: The Guardian reports that there may be a potential fix in theory. No link or steps have been announced, but the error seems to stem from a rogue registry entry, which causes the malfunction of the update. Microsoft is expected to release a hotfix soon.  We will update the article as soon as we hear word.

UPDATE: Update has been fixed. Forbes reports the fix will not only eradicate the nasty reboot glitch, but it “also resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft graphic components, the .NET Framework that allows elevation of privilege and the Mount Manager that could allow elevation of privilege.”

How to Fix Windows Update Update Errors

In this tutorial, we will help you overcome the code errors sometimes found in Windows Update. These are the most common. So, to start, let’s examine what they mean.

• Error Code 800b0001 ——- Windows Update could not search for new updates
• Error Code 66A ———– Corrupted .NET files when installing .NET Framework Updates
• Error Code 80072f8f —– System cannot find the file specified
• Error Code 80072ee2 —- Unusual high number of request updates, wait 10 to 15 minutes.
• Error Code 80072efd—  If you have HotSpot Shield or other IP proxy connectros, turn them off.

Solution 1) Run the “Fix It” Troubleshooter for Windows Update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

Solution  2)    Force Start Windows Update Service

If Windows Update is already running, simply open Task Manager by Right Clicking the Task Bar and select Start Task Manager.

In the Processes tab, please select the Show Processes from all Users

Now find “winauclt.exe”,  Right-Click and select End Process. Alternatively, End Process Tree.

Now Hit WINDOWS Key + R on the keyboard , Type “winauclt.exe” ). Hit OK to start Windows Update again.

Solution 3) Force Start Background Intelligence Services ( BITS )

Next, we want to pause BITS.  Open Task Manager like usual.

In the Services tab,  find Background Intelligence Services ( BITS )

Now Right-Click and select Stop Service

Finally RESTART your computer.

Solution 4) Download the System Update Readiness Tool

Finally, Download this tool to fix Windows Update.

Select the Download for your computer ( Windows 7, Windows Vista)

Adding a Folder to the Start Menu

1. First step is to click and open the folder you are going to add.

2. Inside the folder, select View , then Go To. and select  Go Up One Level. NOTE (  If you cannot see the View command, then follow the steps for Enabling the Menu Bar in a Folder or Window. )

You should now see this:

3.   Make sure to first click the folder, so that it is highlighted— it is marked in blue.

4. Now here is the tricky part. Move the folder into the Start Orb and wait a moment.

After a few seconds, the Start Menu should appear.  Simply drag the folder and drop.

Now here is the result.  Congrats the folder is at the Start Menu.

Enabling the Menu Bar in a Folder

1. First thing first. Open Windows explorer. A simple way to do this is to open any folder on your Desktop. Below I have a folder that I selected. Double-click and open the folder.

2. Inside, click the Organize button. You should get a list of commands, like below.

3. Now select the Layout command. You should get these options. Go ahead and select Menu Bar.

4.  The Menu Bar should now appear. Good work!

The Wall Street Journal  reports that the update will be available later this year in time  for the holidays. Windows President Tami Reller claims Microsoft is planning to showcase Blue to the public.

“Microsoft executives will make two sets of relevant disclosures in coming weeks … First up soon will be details about pricing, packaging and an official name.”

Reller also said that a second Blue update is expected before June. Microsoft experts and enthusiasts were betting on the first update before June… we now know that there will be two updates, the second occurring near BUILD conference. The final Blue will be released to consumers near holiday season.

The city of Beaches and Carnivals is expected to get a new tag, the technological hub. The head of the Microsoft’s bazillion division Mr. Michel Levy expressed his view against the press and stated that they are hoping to stimulate an awesome flow of knowledge among Microsoft’s research teams, local research universities, emerging IT firms and their Brazilian market. A day before the press conference Microsoft had revealed their plan for spending $100 million to build a new research center in Rio.

This research laboratory will be the first advance technology research lab in Latin America and fourth worldwide. According to the Microsoft team, Rio center will also be used for gearing up the business start-ups and help facilitate operations for Microsoft’s Bing Search Engine.

They also addressed that 15 internet start-ups will be selected every two years to get financial, technological and administrative support from Microsoft. Each selected organization will be eligible for a financial support up to $500,000.

Although the  new laboratory will not be able to get started before the end of next year, the business accelerator program is going to be operational by Q2 of 2013.
