A representative can act on our behalf without fully sharing our experience. But a Champion must face the same trials, play by the same rules, and win within the same limits as the rest of the team.

This is why it’s so vital to understand that Christ had to be fully human – sharing in our nature in every respect – in order to be our true Champion. The victory had to be won from within humanity, not imposed from outside by a celestial visitor.

The Joy of Shared Triumph

Since, then, the little children have participated in blood and flesh, He also was very nigh by partaking of the same, that, through death, He should be discarding him who has the might of death, that is, the Adversary, and should be clearing those whoever, in fear of death, were through their entire life liable to slavery (Hebrews 2:14-15).

Notice the language – He “partook of the same things.” He didn’t “visit” humanity; He was part of it. And in doing so, He won the decisive victory over death, sin and Satan. That victory belongs to Him – and to us in Him.

The sacrificial system was never meant to be the final answer. It was a shadow: a foreshadowing of the true Antidote. Each lamb, goat or bull was an acted-out prophecy of the One to come.

When Christ arrived, He stepped into a world where the people already understood (deeply) that life came through death. But this time, the life offered was not from the animal realm under man’s dominion. It was from the human realm itself, offered by the only Man Who had ever lived without sin.

Why Christ’s suffering? Why such a public, brutal death? The answer lies not in satisfying some abstract “justice system” in the Heavens, but in displaying the Father’s love in the most powerful way possible.

Romans 5:8 reminds us that God’s love was best demonstrated to us because we were yet sinners. Love is most clearly seen in costly sacrifice, and there is no costlier gift than one’s own life offered for others (John 15:13).

By enduring unimaginable pain, humiliation and rejection – and still remaining perfectly obedient – Christ revealed both the depth of the Father’s love and the worth of His Own Headship over all creation.

The cross was not God’s wrath poured out on His Son; it was God’s love poured out on the world.

God is not improvising. His plan was set before the disruption of the world (Ephesians 1:4). He knew every twist and turn before it happened.

And the goal of it all? That everything – every created thing, every story, every person – will return to Him.

All is out of Him. All is through Him. All is back to Him (Romans 11:36).

That’s The Divine Cycle. And when you see it, really see it, it brings a deep peace.

You don’t have to fear what’s ahead.
You don’t have to fix everything.
You don’t have to worry about who “wins.”

God already has it figured out.

And He’s bringing everything – including you – back to Himself.

Just as with the plagues in Egypt, the message of the sacrificial system wasn’t only for humanity – it broadcast a lesson to the entire spiritual realm: sin and death will not have the last word. Every drop of innocent blood spilled in obedience to God was a declaration of His ultimate plan – a plan that would culminate in a Sacrifice so pure, so complete, that it would end the need for all others.

Here’s a powerful truth: Faith is a gift.

Philippians 1:29 says that it’s been granted to us to believe. Romans 12:3 says that God gives each person the measure of faith. That means faith isn’t something we talk someone into – it’s something that God gives.

So instead of trying to prove God, we simply live as those who know Him. We reflect His truth, His love, and His grace (joy). We can talk about our faith, answer questions, and share what we believe – but we don’t argue to “win.” That’s not the point.

The view from above is not a private treasure. It’s a divine vantage point, given so that we can lift others up.

We didn’t earn it.
We don’t deserve it.
But we’ve got it.

So, while chaos rages, we set our minds above:

Not to escape, but to engage.
Not to avoid the pain, but to walk through it with grace.
Not to boast, but to bless.

Because one day, when all is made new, and God is All in all, we’ll look back on the chaos and realize:

It wasn’t chaos after all.
It was a perfectly written story – seen too early, from too low.

And grace was the thread holding it all together.

Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11).

Will this occur by force, or the result of changed hearts?

If by force – it brings no glory to God.

When this event takes place, and it will, it’s the result of softened hearts that have been instantly transformed at the resurrection by seeing and experiencing God’s love and mercy. THEN it will bring Him glory and appreciation by ALL.

Scripture tells us that the ONE THING that God desires is to display is His mercy (Hosea 6:6).
