We were lucky enough to have a chat with Canadian jewellery designer Lissa Bowie. We are thrilled to be carrying her collection for the first time at Trove. Get ready to fall in love!

How did you get your start in the jewellery-making business?

“I did 1 year out of a 3 year program in the jewellery arts program at George Brown College in Toronto and after that it all just kind of fell into place. Everything in the universe just lined up, made a path and I followed it…from Ottawa to India and eventually Mexico where I have now been living the past 13 years.”

How would you describe your line?

“My line is confident, sexy and distinct. My jewellery has this amazing trait- it will uplift you. You’ll walk taller, laugh louder, and it will make you that much more extraordinary!”

What is your favourite piece that you’ve made?

“I have a few basic go-to’s like my chicklet studs, my Ellie nugget with a pearl, but I love everything equally. They
are all pieces of me.  Each and has its own history, making it special and beautiful.
I really love the one-of-a-kind pieces.  Mounting the stones is the best part. It’s like giving breath to the piece. Right now I am wearing my Arlow ring, Justina ring, Daniella ring, and 2 new bands I am working on.

I love my lighter case… very useful at work!”

What is the best part about being in this industry?

“Having my jewellery accepted and appreciated by others. It allows me to do
what I love most with the freedom to create full time!”

Where do you draw inspiration from?

“I think it is just integrated in me, everything I do, see, learn, my
surroundings. My ideas are always flying through my mind, through my
hands, its just a matter of which one I catch in that precise moment.”
