The core principle is to ‘tackle their feelings before their behaviour’. Behaviour is a reaction to our emotional states and thoughts and is often very misunderstood.

I will guide you through the different emotions and feelings in a variety of contexts and share many helpful tips. You will gain knowledge and support with attending to your children’s emotional needs and teaching your children how to cope with difficult emotions and situations. My aim is to make information free and accessible to all parents.

Lets work together to put an end to childhood emotional neglect!

So often, parents are sent down the route of assessment for Austism Spectrum Disorder (A.S.D) only to be told that this is not the case. Children display symptoms that appear to show developmental delays and present with odd/naughty behaviour and sensitivities that can be very difficult to manage or are concerning to parents and teaching staff. As a therapist working with families, I wanted to share the commonalities in symptoms and presentations I have found between Anxiety and A.S.D. Anxiety is common in children and if unattended, it can escalate and present in concerning ways that influence their performance and behavior. Emotional regulation works extremely well with anxiety in children and symptoms can decline or cease in a short period of time with this approach.

This podcast is a MUST listen to for all parents, care givers, teachers and people working with children in any capacity. As a therapist working with families with children, I have seen the damage this form of abuse creates first hand. It is something I am trained to assess for and I take my experience and training and talk about the signs and symptoms you should be paying attention to. None of these symptoms indicate that your child has definitely been abused, especially not on their own. They do indicate that something may be going on for your child though and it is always good to explore things further and get some help of you need to. Far too often we like to bury our heads in the sand because it is just too awful to comprehend. Sexual abuse is far too common and in order to break these cycles and protect children, we need to be aware of what to look out for and when to be concerned. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

Child sexual abuse is far too common in all cultures around the world. This is a topic most people shudder to think about. Many of us don’t even want to go there in our minds and would prefer to think of this as something that happens to other people. It is time to break the silence on this and equip ourselves with knowledge and awareness. This is especially true if you are a parent, care giver, teacher or are around children in any formal capacity. We, as adults, need to step up and break these cycles of abuse. Knowledge is power. This podcast is not to create fear, it is to create empowerment and awareness.
