He was the only child of his father. His dad spent virtually all the resources he had in training and sending him to school in ensuring the soundness of his education. He was love by his parents. He was a cherished and promised child, full of hope and aspirations.

As a result of his parents love for him, he was sent to the United States (a supposed land flowing with milk and honey) to enjoy the full benefit of western civilization. Unfortunately! Sadly! And sorrowfully he got tempted, just once, and engaged in homosexual act and contacted AIDS and died a year later. Sad indeed!

Dear friends, there are devastating consequences associated with the sin of sexual immorality. Learn a lesson from the beloved young man in our story. Jesus Christ condemns sexual sins, in any form or shape. The Bible says in Matthew 7:21 “For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication

*All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.” In Galatians 5:19-21 the scripture say “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness of the which I tell you before, as I have told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God .”

 

In our present day dispensation, sexual immorality involves fornication (sexual act between unmarried partners), Adultery (sexual act between married people), Homosexual (sexual act between same sex male) and Lesbianism (sexual act between same sex female).

This also includes pornography (in any form or shape) and masturbation. Jesus Christ went further to say that if you look at a woman to lust after her in your heart; you have already committed adultery with her in your heart, Matthew 5:27-28.

 

The consequences of sexual sins cannot be over emphasized:

1) It leads to present and eternal separation from God.

2) Sexual sins will make your worship and prayers unacceptable to God.

3) The guilt of the sin will hinder you from going boldly to God in prayers.

4) Sexual sins will open up doors for the devil to attack you on a daily basis.

5) Sexual sins will leave you completely unprotected by God.

6) Sexual sins will hinder your blessings from God.

7) Sexual sins might lead to your untimely death.

Sexual sins will take the glory of God away from you.

9) Sexual sins can expose you to diseases, such as AIDS, and pestilence and unwanted babies.

10) And finally, continuous rebellion in embarking in sexual sins will consequently land you in hell.

 

Jesus gave this last warning in Revelation 22:11-12 “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”

 

Dear friends, repent and give your life to Jesus Christ today, before it’s too late. He is the only one that can give you power to be delivered from the bondage of sexual immorality. Flee from sexual immorality and escape the impending consequences. Repent today, tomorrow might be too late.

Romans 6:1-23 :: Contemporary English Version (CEV)

What should we say? Should we keep on sinning, so that God’s wonderful kindness will show up even better? No, we should not! If we are dead to sin, how can we go on sinning?

Don’t you know that all who share in Christ Jesus by being baptized also share in his death? When we were baptized, we died and were buried with Christ. We were baptized, so that we would live a new life, as Christ was raised to life by the glory of God the Father. If we shared in Jesus’ death by being baptized, we will be raised to life with him. We know that the persons we used to be were nailed to the cross with Jesus.

This was done, so that our sinful bodies would no longer be the slaves of sin. We know that sin doesn’t have power over dead people.

As surely as we died with Christ, we believe we will also live with him. We know that death no longer has any power over Christ. He died and was raised to life, never again to die.

When Christ died, he died for sin once and for all. But now he is alive, and he lives only for God. In the same way, you must think of yourselves as dead to the power of sin. But Christ Jesus has given life to you, and you live for God.

Don’t let sin rule your body. After all, your body is bound to die, so don’t obey its desires or let any part of it become a slave of evil.

Give yourselves to God, as people who have been raised from death to life. Make every part of your body a slave that pleases God. Don’t let sin keep ruling your lives. You are ruled by God’s kindness and not by the Law.

What does all this mean? Does it mean we are free to sin, because we are ruled by God’s wonderful kindness and not by the Law? Certainly not! Don’t you know that you are slaves of anyone you obey? You can be slaves of sin and die, or you can be obedient slaves of God and be acceptable to him. You used to be slaves of sin.

But I thank God that with all your heart you obeyed the teaching you received from me. Now you are set free from sin and are slaves who please God. I am using these everyday examples, because in some ways you are still weak. You used to let the different parts of your body be slaves of your evil thoughts.

But now you must make every part of your body serve God, so that you will belong completely to him. When you were slaves of sin, you didn’t have to please God. But what good did you receive from the things you did? All you have to show for them is your shame, and they lead to death.

Now you have been set free from sin, and you are God’s slaves. This will make you holy and will lead you to eternal life. Sin pays off with death. But God’s gift is eternal life given by Jesus Christ our Lord.

You become a slave of whatever you yield your life to, whether to sin or to righteousness. Slavery to sin ends up in death but slavery to righteousness ends up in life and peace. To be carnally minded is death, to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

If you live according to the flesh and its cravings- sin, oversleeping, overeating, excessive watching of movies, excessive browsing/chatting and other indulgences, you will die but if you put to death the deeds of the body you will live. Become a slave of righteousness today that you may live.

Do you want to be reconciled with God, through Jesus the Lord and Saviour? Then say this simple prayer:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and have fallen short of your glory. I genuinely repent from all my sins and pledge to go and sin no more. I accept your plan to reconcile mankind to you through Jesus Christ, who you sent in your name.

 I believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and died on the Cross to pay the penalty for my sins and redeem me. I accept Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I pray that His blood washes my sins away. I invite the Holy Spirit to rule my Life.

Too many of us have made it our life’s work to change someone else’s opinion of us. We’re determined to prove to them that we’re valuable. Now, you can be lie the guy who equipped, i like talking to myself, because i like dealing with a better class of people. But nether can you base your worth on the opinions of those who put you down.

When Harry Truman was thrust into the presidency by the death of Franklin Roosevelt, Sam Rayburn, Speaker of the House, took him aside and said, you’re going to have lots of people around you. And they will tell you what a great man you are, Harry. But you and I both know you ain’t. as it turned out, Truman became a truly great president.

Until you quit agreeing with those who’ve mistreated you, or bowing to be events that crippled you emotionally, you’ll remain locked in a prison of your own making.

When your critic’s opinion becomes your opinion, you’re built a prison inside your should with only one prisoner; you are prepared to accept that some of the people you’ve spent your life trying to impress, may never be impressed? And can you accept that from God’s perspective; it doesn’t matter?

To succeed in life you must be able to work alongside people without allowing you’re self to be controlled by their moods or governed by their opinions.

This is what Paul was talking about when he said, Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? If we were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.

Principles of successful achievements
1. Dependence on God: – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Proverb 3:5-6

2. Determination: – Determination can not be separated from successful achievement. It is determination that will keep you on the right track

3. Discipline:- Successful people never condone indiscipline. To be disciplined is to be in charge or in control. It can also be seen as the ability to know what to do at the right time and in the right place.

4. Dedication to Diligence: – Diligence is one of the indisputable conducts of successful people. It is what separates the leader from the laities, the rich and the poor, successful people from failures. You can not go far on the ladder of successes without dedication to hard work

The plan of God for your lie is success. It is when you are successful that you will become a channel of blessing to others around you. Failure is alien to the promise of God for you. Have faith in God that He is able to turn you from a failure to a success.

Over the ages, women have prove to be great assets in the Kingdom if God. After the death  and burial of Jesus, most male disciples went into hiding, whereas the female disciples were out at His grave side to show that they still love Him even after death.

The president of a country died. Until his death, sycophants swarmed around him like bees after the honey comb. They sang his praise and licked his feet for what they could get from him. Immediately he died, you would be amazed at the speed with which he was dumped! It took a while before they could even go near the corpse. Every devouer in your life pretending to be a friend shall be uprooted in Jesus name.

The women in this passage were true friend. The Lord will give to you true friends. They went to the grave side of Jesus intending to anoint His corpse (Mark 16:1).

This was an act in unbelief because if they had believed His promise of resurrection, they would not attempt to another to emblem someone who would rise again. Yet they were outstanding in devotion as they were His friendswhile He was alive and remained faithful after His death

It should be borne in mind that the institution of marriage was ordained by God right from time immemorial. After the creation of Adam, God deemed it necessary to provide him with a “help meet” by the name Eve.

 In Genesis 2:18 “And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.” It was and has ever been the interest of God to see marriage couples live together in peace and love.

 The basis of every Christian marriage should transcend beyond nothing but love. A marriage void of love between both spouses is bound to collapse at the slightest occurrence of life’s turbulent sea. The force of love remains the only cord that can bind both couples together till death do them apart.

That love should be tantamount to an attraction that exists between a magnet and a piece of metal. It would be completely ironic to see a church leader, pastor, or professed Christian ashamed to be seen together with his wife in public. When you become very uncomfortable to be around your spouse in public, then it goes to prove that there isn’t that passion and love for her.

The quest for love to be the foundation of a Christian marriage is not optional, but a vivid commandment and instruction from God. The Bible says in Ephesians 5:25, “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.”

My experience is that if the husband loves his wife with passion and true love of Christ, ninety percent of the time, the wife would reciprocate that love. The end product is abundant peace and harmony in the home.

Unfortunately, there are a lot of Christian marriages shattered by hatred, bitterness, and regret. Some Christian husbands would say clandestinely, “How in the world did I marry this woman? She is quite older in age, not as educated as I am, not attractive, so tiny or too fat.”

 The Bible says “Husbands, love your wives…” It’s too late; you really have no choice at this time. Whether your wife is five or more years older than you, not attractive, and not as educated, you have been instructed to love her. Doing otherwise would be a clear violation of the scriptures.

 

Dearly beloved, if you refer to yourself as a Christian husband and you have perfected the act of refraining from helping your wife to shoulder most of her burdens, then you are not fit to be a husband. You seat and watch that poor woman do all the domestic work at home even after she returns from a stressful day at work.

All you do is to treat her like a slave and a second class being. From all life’s ramifications, your wife is supposed to be an embodiment of your joy and all your accomplishments.

Remember that “a bird at hand is worth twice in the bush.” If you are thinking about extramarital affairs or trying to divorce your wife for a demonic loser Jezebel out there, you could be gambling with your entire life’s prospect. Whether your wife is tiny, fat, uneducated, ugly, too short, have attitude problem, an introvert, an extrovert, medical problems, disable, and so on: you have been instructed by God to love her.

As a church leader, trying to use the excuse of a busy work and church schedule to deny your wife the love, passion, and care she needs would be indistinguishable to Christ denying you of His love, forgiveness, and compassion. Love your wife, cherish her, admonish her, and be tender hearted towards her.

Always remember the first time you met her and fell in love with her. Let that love be rekindled and you will feel the express peace of God overshadow your home once again.

Confession

ROMAN 6:14
Sexual sins open the doors for all kinds of evil spirits to enter. This prayer programme is for those: Who frequently dream of having sex.
Rom. 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.”
Please, open your Bible and slowly, meditatively read Romans 1:18-32 and Leviticus 18:1-30.
Are you surprise at the things you’ve just read? Indeed there is nothing new under the sun! (Ecclesiastes 1:9)

Basically the laws of God concerning sexual perversion as stated Leviticus 18 can be divided into 5 groups.

They are laws against
- Incest (i.e. have sex with relatives, brothers, in law’s uncles etc., there are 20 categories of close relatives stated between verse 6 and 19)
- Adultery (vs. 20) – idolatry i.e. offering child sacrifices ( vs. 21)
- Homosexuality, lesbianism, masturbation, prostitution etc (vs22)
- Bestiality (have sex with animals (vs. 23)
Are you caught in the bondage of any of these? Indeed the chains of habit (perversion) are too weal to be felt till they are too strong to be broken.

All kinds of sexual bondage can be broken through the power of the blood of Jesus.

There is hope for you, the Bible says, “Sin shall not have dominion over you” (Rom. 6:14) because “The law of Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Rom 8:2).

As you pray sincerely with a contrite/repentant heart (Psalm 51: 17) God will set you free from the chains of sexual perversion.

Gal 5:24: and they are Christ have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Praise worship
1. Thank God for His power to deliver from every bondage
2. I break myself from every spirit of sexual perversion, in the name of Jesus

The Lord is with me like a mighty terrible one. I am not afraid. I cannot be threatened. My persecutor shall stumble and fumble.

Their everlasting confusion and disgrace shall never be forgotten. God has commanded me to fear not.

1.                  The failure and disappointment in marriage will not manifest in my marriage, in the name of |Jesus

According to Psalm 115:4-5, idolatry negatively affects the idolater. Some idolaters receive the spirit of dumbness and deafness from the idols they serve.

No medical effort can correct such spiritual defect. If you do not want to become dumb or deaf, flee from idols. “They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat” (Psalm 115:7).

Some people with withered hands received it from their idols. Some people are physically bent and can hardly straighten themselves because the spirit inside them is bent. When you have a lying spirit in you, you will display it through anointed lies.

If the spirit of greed is in you, it will compel you to become greedy. The spirit that in-dwells you is the god that you truly serve. You cannot serve God and idols at the same time.

Some people have an unusual body odour. Their offensive smell always repel people, especially helpers. They have used the best of medicated soaps and sponges, and applied the strongest deodorants to no avail.

They smell because the spirit inside them smells. The day that spirit goes, the foul smell will follow. In the mean time, that is the god in their lives. Similarly, because idols cannot walk, those who serve them suddenly stop walking.

Some people have become lame because their god is lame. Some idolaters are not physical lame but have remained on the same spot for long.

All efforts to defy stagnancy has failed because their god is a lame god. Whatever ‘god’ that is in you, Jesus Christ can bring about your deliverance today. Receive Him as your Lord. Break every tie or covenant with previous gods, idols and spirits. And go for deliverance prayers from a genuine servant of God.

“They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them” (Psalm 115:8). This tells us that you are like your invention. An invention is an idea borne out of the inner recesses of the heart.

If you are light, you will invent or create light. If you are darkness, you cannot create light. Your invention speaks volume on who you are. If corrupt or defiling words emanate from your mouth, it shows that you are defiled. If lies freely flow from your mouth, it shows the father of liars is on the throne of your heart.

If you are living in lust, the spirit of lust is at the helm of affairs in your life. Some people invent good while others evil. What do you invent? You cannot give what you don’t have, except you want to remain a hypocrite. What spirit is controlling you? Go to God for help.

Put an end to bad inventions. If God truly resides in you, prove it by your inventions.

It is what a regenerate child of the kingdom of God has which will grant him or her access to approach the throne of grace.

Dearly beloved, is your mind convinced that you are destined to carry the load of your sins and die with it? Have you become so addicted to your sinful lifestyle and you think there is no way out?

Is your heart filled with daily guilt of condemnation of all your past and present sins? Have you become so enslaved to your sins to the extent your life is ravaged by them?

Are you a backslider? Remember, the blood of Jesus can restore you. Are you a sinning church member? Remember, the blood of Jesus can sanctify your heart and give you a complete hatred for sin. Are you completely alienated from Jesus? Remember, the blood of Jesus can reconcile you to him.
