The best way to get fireworks (which only occur when the last digit of the timer is at 1, 3, r 6 when you land on the flagpole at the end of each stage), is to stand on the first step just below the top of the staircase near the flat, and then dart for the pole as soon as the timer hits three seconds past the time you’re aiming for. For example, if you want six fireworks, run and jump just as the timer hits “9″. The timing for this maneuver has to be just right, so it might take a little practice.

So we’ve already got the Sony factoid that 50% of PlayStation 4 owners never owned a PS3, but now it’s come out that they’re actually poaching games fom their competitors. A Nielson study provided to tech site Recode has indicated that while those new PS4 owners may not have owned a PS3, 31% of them did have a Xbox 360 or a Wii. Comparatively, 17% did not own any console from the last generation. This then seems to suggest that console brand loyalty isn’t as significant as we thought. One thing worth mentioning is that consumers were only asked to specify the consoles they currently own, and not ones that they have previously. So say you sold your PS3 last week, that wouldn’t have counted as you owning one.

Activision have teamed up with Mountain Dew and Dorito’s for a fuel up for battle promotion in an effort to perpetuate the biggest gaming stereotype in the world. And not altogether sure how much protein is in either of those snacks to help you fuel up, but if you spend your dollars on specially marked products, you can unluck cosmetic items for use in Advanced Warfare’s supply drop systems. Shelling out on green soda and turning your fingers orange with Dorito dust can also earn you double XP bonuses. But, for those of you worried you’ll miss out if you aren’t so keen on a sugar rush, it’ll mainly play into the hands of gamers who want the unique touch of a fancy looking helmet or an exoskeleton. The promotion, which kicks off on October 6, is thus far a US exclusive. Items won within it won’t be available elsewhere until February of next year.

A new Pokemon game is on the way and is coming from the dev team who created Tekken. The aptly named Pokemon Tekken mashup, Pokken Tournament, is set for release in 2015 for Japanese arcades. Tekken producer Katsuhiro harada commented on the fighters saying whether you are a casual player, regular player, or a hardcore player, anyone who likes Pokemon can have fun. So if you’re anybody at all with an interest in Pokemon, this one will be a goer. No longer will you have to suffice with turn-based Pokemon bashing from the safe-zone behind a Pokeball. You can finally get up in Jigglypuff’s face to get gim to stop using sleep on you, I’m guessing.

Microsoft recently lowered the Xbox One MSRP by more than $100 after having seen the results of a year of the latest generation being priced out of the market. This price snafu is credited with giving PS4 its push to the top of the list of bestselling home gaming entertainment systems, but Microsoft has corrected the error of its ways and the sales of the console have jumped. What catches some people by surprise is that the base price only includes certain items out of the box.

To add games and features you have to spend more money, including getting an Xbox Live Gold Membership. If you don’t understand what the Xbox Live Gold Membership can add to your gaming experience it can cause resentment. Xbox One isn’t the only gaming system that requires additional investment to unlock all of the advanced features in the games, it is just one of the only ones who presents the price directly and doesn’t keep hitting you with even more costs.

It’s Not Just the Xbox One

All of the home gaming systems are sold out of the box as base units with a controller and a bundled game or game set. All manufacturers also include ways to add to your components and games libraries through their distributors. All of them also have different tiers of paid memberships that allow you to access paid features. The console is the only game system that has created a membership that presents all of the fees at once. While Xbox Live Gold may seem like an additional expense, when you break it down per daily access use, it is actually cheaper than many of the other gaming systems available.

Why are They Charging More for Access?

While a part of having different add-ons and tiered membership levels is about maximizing profit for the company, a larger part is focused on finding a way to deliver the best gaming experience possible. Multi-player environments and integrative gaming rule the world these days, and none of that is possible with using servers and databases that have to be managed to keep the game flow going.

This is why you can play some of the games, or certain types of gaming options within the games without an Xbox Live Gold Membership, but to use the more advanced features you have to have a membership. In many ways what the membership is paying for is for you to have a team of experts managing the backend of your multi-player games on a live network. The benefits and access that you get with Xbox One and the Xbox Live Gold Membership deliver real advantages, this isn’t just a membership fee that gives you access to articles.

Central to the integrative play for many of the games available on the Xbox One is the use of Kinect. The Kinect system gathers information from you about position, heart rate and more and feeds them back into the game system so the game becomes responsive to you. The Kinect has to be purchased to be used, but its full features require the Xbox Live Gold Membership too.

Forget the features, hacks and cheats, what you really need are some of the patches that have been made that will let you exploit the weaknesses in Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V). These will only work if you have not installed the latest patch set for GTA V. The advantage of these glitches is you can use them without closing out your opportunity to win trophies, so grab them while they are hot!

Free Properties

This is a pre-patch glitch. It does come with a condition that it won’t work unless you have the money to buy the property as you normally do, but with this pre-patch you can get the property for free and keep your money. All you have to do is go up to the property purchase sign and then confirm with the right key on the D-pad that you are going to make the purchase. Respond to the new confirmation prompt with another affirmative and then immediately pause the game. Restart the game but do so to replay a prior mission (pick a short one). Finish out that mission. When you are done and the game reloads back in overworld, that property will be all yours – but so will your money.

Free Weapon Upgrades

This one requires that you have a grenade in hand already, in more ways than one. Go and buy any weapons upgrade that you can afford. Then take the grenade and blow yourself up with it. When you re-spawn you will see that you will have retained the weapons upgrade even after you died. It is important that you make sure that the weapons upgrade is confirmed before you trigger the grenade. The money you spend on the upgrade will also be returned to your account, but the upgrade stays (for free) too.

Free and Fast Vehicle Repairs

This one is another pre-patch glitch, if the patch is installed this won’t work. When your car is just about done and ready for the repair shop, pull over and get out. Then do a quick save on your phone. Reload the quick save and you can pick up the game where you left off – but your car will be in perfect condition. This is an ideal way to get out of paying for expensive repairs to all those upgrades.

Free Money

This is another pre-patch glitch and one of the advantages to it is it will work over and over again to help you build cash reserves fast. If you head out to the north side of the map you want to look underwater in the ocean. There you will see an airplane that has crashed. In the airplane is a briefcase that has $12,000 in it. Swim out and grab the briefcase. Then, quick switch to another character, but then switch back again to the one with the briefcase. You will see that character near the briefcase but the glitch shows that you haven’t claimed it yet. Claim it again, add another 12K to the pot and then switch and switch back to do it all over. The game will keep adding the money to your account even though it will keep showing that character having not claimed it yet.
